Oh for sure. It's got the sleeping bag kill and the first appearance of the most iconic actor to play the role. I really don't see what's not to love. Of course Mrs. Fuji reminds me to point out that Nick is the hottest final boy. :

I don't know... But for some reason I've seen a lot of people claim it to be the worst one. Over JTM, X and JGTH. It baffles me TBH. You even find out how Bernie dies before his weekend. What can beat that?

It's nowhere near as bad as any of those. Plus you're right about Bernie, but its weird that he grows his moustache after he's dead. :

In a pinch I'd say JGTH is the worst, can't decide which is worse between X and JTM, but they're both pretty bad.

Jason Goes to Hell at least receives credit for trying a different approach. Was it highly flawed? Sure, but they tried something. Sequels like Jason Takes Manhattan and Jason X gave us (Roughly) the same formula and failed really poorly. I'd need to look at my old Friday reviews to see what I said was the worse, but I wouldn't be surprised if I said JGTH was better than 3, 5, 8 and Jason X.
