Ripley is one smart cookie. I'd probably have died at this point!

One thing I want to point out is I don't care too much for the design of the creature in this one.

I like it, but it did get better over time.

Well it was 1979.

It's not that. And TBF I like '78 to '99ish designs more than today's stuff. It was mainly the walking upright like a humanoid aspect I guess. I like in Aliens+ how they mostly crawl along the walls.

Actually on that I agree. Its less suspense with it walking.

Yes and I just want to clarify that we'll be watching the Special Edition of that film, not the theatrical cut.

Might as well get this started a little early. We're watching Aliens this week and if you're watching, make sure its the Special Edition/Director's Cut since its a lot better and certainly the version that should have been in theatres.

I second this. Fuji and I will be watching the SE and it's much longer than the normal cut so you'll be way ahead of us and that's no fun.

I expect most to make a solid effort to join the fun. Aliens is a great time for all.

I mean how can you not root for tough as nails Lt. Ripley, bad ass Terminator hunter... I mean Corporal Hicks and the adorable Newt?

It won't make any difference.

Ripley's and Newt's bond is one of my most cherished aspects of the series.

And is why I always watch the SE. You don't get the full picture otherwise.
