Re: Pulse's Weekly Wednesday Scream

I have the P Cut of H6. (niak niak, not telling how I got it).

What about you guys?

I don't like any Halloween after H6. I'll watch them for this, but I can't guarantee I'll be nice.

Heh, it's not like the T Cut of H6 is any better...

Because we both realize that Pleasance couldn't have been replaced and they should have just ended the series with his death? Obviously I realize its impractical for them to do that because these movies can be made cheaply and almost always turn a tidy profit, but a new direction would have been better.

The script (or I should say scripts as he had 11 drafts written), although the Producer's Cut is still pretty damn flawless.

Re: Pulse's Weekly Wednesday Scream

I wouldn't say H6 is perfect because there are only a few rare horror films that I'd deem perfect. Obviously The Shining is one, and perhaps The Bride of Frankenstein as well. After that its slim pickings in the perfect category. I can't in good faith call any slasher film perfect, since they all follow a formula and can technically be interchanged with one another (the highest I've rated a slasher is Carpenter's Halloween with a 9.5/10). I guess you could say Twitch of the Death Nerve (A Bay of Blood) is a near-perfect slasher since its the first (I don't consider Psycho or Peeping Tom to be straight up slashers) but it still has its fair share of issues.

Re: Pulse's Weekly Wednesday Scream

The thing I didn't like in the P Cut is the way they treated the Jamie Lloyd character.

The script version is a bit more tolerable I suppose (she gets raped by Dr Wynn instead of Myers).

The script also had some cool stuff that they never used on film, such as scene between Loomis and Mrs Blakenship in which she exlains that Micahel Myers was not the first killer of his bloodline. Quite creepy I gotta say.

The treatment of the Jamie Lloyd character couldn't be helped. The studio wanted absolutely nothing to do with her.

Makes me sad considering how much I like the character.

I too love the character.

Can't say the T Cut treated her any better.

The same can be said for Platinum Dunes.

Re: Pulse's Weekly Wednesday Scream

Idk, I enjoyed the Nightmare on Elmt Street remake, and from what I was told, the TCM remake isn't too bad either.

I loathed the Nightmare remake. I'd say the TCM one is probably their best, though I also liked TCM: The Beginning.
