I think I got the name right. I watched a video clip on wwe.com today where he got someone to join his society of straighthead ... thing, lol. he shaved his head etc.

i just have a random storyline idea I'd like to run from this. I'd love to see this happen a few more weeks in a row, and actually build a small (and by small i mean maybe 3-4 guys) society of straightedge proteges/students. They could back up Punk (and the other guy...) in matches etc, and bring them up as a really weak faction - that may occasionally step into the ring (or atleast interfere).

I dont know how successful it'd be. I think it'd be a nice touch to Punk and his crusade to 'save wwe' and what not. bring some guys from development up through this, and in the end i think have one getting caught out not being straightedge. the group kicks him out etc etc.

thoughts on the idea, and where else this could possibly run...

Straight Edge Society. Ehh depends on who exactly it is

It could work as a straight edge version of Raven's flock with people following Punk around. Hey if this leads to Lodi coming back carrying signs around I'll be all for it.

I love how Punk pretty much has a Jesus gimmick :shifty:

Seriously, long hair, the beard.. a dude named Luke and now saving a guy named James.

Punk needs to turn water into wine, then turn in back into water and then yell at the fans about the dangers of consuming alcohol.

I like factions, but they have to put the right pieces in the faction/stable to make it work. I'm not big on Luke Gallows in the group, but i guess that did try to make some sense of it.

I hope they bring a few developmental guys into the main roster through this. Just give guys like Justin Angel a chance to show that they can hang with the big boys. Alternatively, I think Croft and Barreta will make a cool faction with CM Punk.

^^^that was my main intention of this idea. bringing up new guys from developmental is ALWAYS a positive thing. even if it's a minor role, for a few months.

I like the idea of him being a Jesus type dude. Anything Punk does is cool im a huge fan of him. Take out luke gallows in the process to :).

Yeah... the Jesus thing is pretty obvious. He'll probably continue his straight edge/head shaving campaign and it'll all culminate in him getting his head shaved at Mania.
I'm thinking there was truth in the whole hair vs. mask Punk/Rey feud after all.

OK, as someone who loves the religious mock-up gimmick as much as I do, you guys have way better ideas than me. The wine to water thing is hilarious, I would love to see them do that. How about this though, Punk has a title shot, and the Smackdown! before the PPV, they get all of the Straightedge people he has saved and they have a Last Supper style promo. Ah....I love this gimmick.

What made me like it most is that I have two very religious uncles (I have more than that, but only 2 watch wrestling), and they both HATE CM Punk because they say he's a false prophet.

I dont think WWE will go too much into this religion thing. It comes with too much political shit
