there are gonna be some ties here and there so it may end up being more then just 100 but first I am gonna start off with 12 honorable mentions
alright I am gonna start doing 5 at a time on the list within the next few days
Honorable Mentions
Nucky Thompson
played by Steve Buscemi on Boardwalk Empire
There is no doubt that for years to come Buscemi's Thompson will be one of the best acted and intriguing characters on TV.
Dexter Morgan
played by Michael C Hall on Dexter
Don't get me wrong I love Dexter and Hall knocks it out of the park as Morgan. He is interesting and definitely unique. Also incredibly endearing ...for a serial killer.
Chachi
played by Scott Baio on Happy Days & Joanie Loves Chachi
I mean really who doesn't love Chachi? The wisecracking kid who grew up to be an american heartthrob.
Augustus Hill
played by Harold Perrineau on Oz
As the narrator and soul of the HBO prison drama Oz Hill shed some insight into the lives of inmates in a max security prison.
Vic Mackey
played by Michael Chiklis on The Shield
Mackey was selfish, corrupt, and a an absolute son of a bitch but yet you always routed for this crooked cop to win in the end. That just how well written the show was and how great Chiklis was in the role.
Alex P Keaton
played by Michael J Fox on Family Ties
The young republican would in most cases be the most unlikable character on a show but Keaton was very endearing. Fox was great as the future yuppy and gave Keaton such a likability it is hard to argue it.
the next six are guys that while I understand there influence and awesomeness I just never really watched the shows they were on
Archie Bunker
played by Carol O'Connor on All in the Family
Changed the landscape of tv with his crass and very nonPC way of looking at things. Truly a landmark show and character.
Ted Baxter
played by Ted Knight on the Mary Tyler Moore Show
Brash, Arrogant, and Awesome! Ted Knight shining in a role that was tailor made for him.
Ralph Kramden
played by Jackie Gleason on The Honeymooners
The blueprint of every high strung, bumbling tv sitcom husband to come. He created it and no one has done it better.
J.R. Ewing
played by Larry Hagman on Dallas
Probably the greatest TV villain of all time. J.R. was greed personified and had the entire country wrapped around his finger every week. So much so millions of people tuned in to see who shot him.
Tommy Gavin
played by Denis Leary on Rescue Me
Leary is tough as nails as Gavin a hard living firefighter. Someday I am just gonna watch every episode of this show because I know it's good and I am sure I will love it but I have just never got into it.
Al Bundy
played by Ed O'Neal on Married with Children
Combine Ralph Kramden with Archie Bunker and you get Al Bundy. The lovable sadsack dad on Married with Children. But as a kid my town didn't get Fox so I never got to watch this show and although I have caught an episode here and there of it in syndication I am by no means an expert on it or Bundy.
