Both companies were insistent for the longest time it'd be years before the next gen.

The big rumour for the new Xbox is it'll just be called "Xbox" rather than Xbox 720 or any other name.

I still think it maybe far off. If they were smart they would. The PS3 has atleast another five years of life left in it.

It's amazing to think just how long the PS3 & Xbox 360 have been on the market. The Xbox 360 has been around two years longer than the first iPhone. Consider that, and now consider how fast the technology market moves, both companies have been lucky to get the number of years they have.

It's a credit to both companies strategy to broaden their market rather than going for the hardcore gamer's constantly. It's certainly done wonders for the Xbox's lifespan.

Let's just hope this isn't anything like the WiiU though.

This is true sir. The WiiU was a good concept that just failed basically.

Sad part is we are calling the Wii U a failure and its only 4 months old. Everyone sad the same thing about the ps3 when it first came out only because of the price tag.

I sell games consoles at work. Plenty of interest in PS3's & Xbox 360's, zero in Nintendo WiiU's. And that's for a newly launched console.

I think the Wii has always been an inferior console to the big two. So naturally WiiU is gonna get the same treatment, hence why they launched first to get what they though were gonna be strong sales.

It took me years into the PS3 for me to get it and catch up to everyone. I don't need another system! haha
