Yeah.

Dude was a great wrestler but he was a mid carder for life. Nobody deserves to go in the HoF because they DIED YOUNG. He had one decent run near the main event level and that was more than likely only because his brother was a top guy. I'm not trying to shit talk the guy because I did like him but come on, leave your blatant markdom at the door.

If Koko can make it, anyone can.

That;s the thing too. The notion of a wrestling hall of fame is great but once you start putting in absolute jokes like Koko B Ware anyone can get in. I'm pretty sure that if it were up to me I'd take easily half of those inductions back just to try and preserve some semblance of legitimacy of the whole thing.

This is something that I have thought about quite a bit. Honestly, if he does get in it will imo be nothing more then a pity induction to help the Hart family/McMahon family get past the issue. I do think that even if he would not have had his accident he would have ever won a world championship in the WWE. Yes what happened was tragic and all but that is not any real reason to be put into the HoF when their are many other people who are more deserving like Randy Savage do not get in because the WWE only inducts a certain amount of people each year, which is rather sad. Now I know that the WWE HoF isn't the ultimate or legitimate Hall of Fame but it is the most easily recognized and thus the most popular names get in so I do think that he will get in at one point or another.

Koko B. Ware was amazing. I loved his flamboyant style and how he would bring his bird to the ring. Frankie was so cool! I bet Owen is proud of his former partner being in the Hall Of Fame.

I really want to take back that positive rep I gave you.

Even if it was ironic.

I honestly agree with you fully. It's almost a given that Owen will end up in the HoF but really, he hasn't done anything to get a place in it. I look at the HoF as a complete joke. It's just one of those things were Vince lets in guys he likes or guys who passed away 'too soon' just so he can look like the good guy.

Granted, there are a lot of guys who deserve to be in it who are there, but, when you scroll down the list and see shit like Koko, you can't possibly take it seriously.

Owen definitely belongs. I don't know what ya'll are thinking but Owen was a Hall of Fame talent and isn't a pity "Kurt Cobain" entry, like Pillman will be, he was the fucking goods. In wrestling a Hall isn't reserved just for the Flairs, Hogans, and Sammartinos, and no the KoKos and Rocky Johnsons don't belong either, but Owen was certainly a special talent. C'mon, someone who really, really knows their shit, name me three better heels in the E from 94-97. You can't because there were only two, Goldust and Mankind. Austin was only an effective heel for the six months he feuded with Hart, then he turned face. Owen was a HEAT MACHINE once he started his heel run in 94.

Accomplishments? KOTR in 94, thrice tag champ and an IC champ and runner up in the European title tourney. And most importantly he was a TWO TIME SLAMMY AWARD WINNER!! And he was going to be a second time IC champ but died. And here is what separates Owen from all the poor bastards that died young from substance abuse: he died doing something for the business he loved. He didn't want to do the drop, but he did. He did it because he loved the business and always did what was asked of him because he was such a fucking pro. His whole family left him alone in the E, people say the E would have sued him for breach of contract, but WCW was going to pay for Anvils and Davey's possible legal troubles, they certainly would have done the same for Owen. Owen stuck it out, and was a fucking pro. Owen was a genuine dude and that just doesn't happen in wrestling.

And he had fucking awesome matches. Bret's best matches that wasn't the Austin-WM13 match was against Owen, the WM 10 match and the SummerSlam cage match, which in itself was revolutionary and changed the way cage matched were approached by younger talents like Benoit, Angle, Edge and the lot. Plus I've seen his matches in Japan with Liger, some of his Stampede shit and honestly I can say Owen was a better worker to me than Bret. Go catch Liger-Owen from 89, that match was ten years ahead of its time. Go catch HBK-Owen from Raw in 97, shortly after the Screwjob, and that match was fast and fuckin furious, more entertaining than any match HBK had with Bret, Iron man included.

Owen was a fucking heat machine, a bad ass work horse, had a nice string of accomplishments and was as genuine as they come. How can anyone deny that he isn't HoF worthy? And I want some substance to those outlandish objections.

Fuck yes. Thank you Enzo. I was just about to reply but now I'll be lazy because you defended him well. I'll also admit that your points are likely to be far better than mine. I can't cover his career as much as I'd like to because I was a child when he was around. But I have done a lot of studying on him to the point where he is in my top 10 all time favorite wrestlers. I'll still post later on my opinion why he should be in but thank you.

Owen Hart is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time also. He is a lock to be in the HoF one day no doubt, but personally I don't consider his Run from 94-98 as enough of a resume to be a legit Hof inductee.

But I have to admit (and this might blow a bunch of holes in my entire argument but fuck it) I would like to see him get inducted into the Hall of Fame this year with Bret being back and all, it would create a sense of closure on the whole situation. Honestly though just with what his death meant to the WWE locker room and the buisness in general he deserves to imo be the "Head of Class" just based on that.

I cannot say I am an authority on Owen like Enzo or Nation being that the height of his run I was a young kid but I do remember hating him as a kid. Which proves Enzo's point that he was a heat machine at levels of The Miz in today's WWE. But like I said I don't think that a 3-4 year run as a major villian in the WWE is enough to warrent a HoF induction, accomplishments or not tbh.

A lot of people are throwing around the 'he drew awesome heat' thing but how would that solidify him as a shoe-in for the HoF? A lot of guys drew big heat. It's not really that hard. Just be an asshole to the crowd and the faces and you're a heel.

I know not everyone can do a good, believable job of it but it's still not the most impossible thing to do. Hell, with the crowds these days, they fucking cheer for Orton when he kicks the shit out of Cena so people don't even care who is heel or not anymore.

Really the only person named to be inducted this year that really doesn't deserve it is Wendi Richter and she can still be argued for.

Well she did play a big role in the MTV/WWE Rock N Wrestling Connection and I'm sure she was a decent enough worker for her time. I personally just think it's weird seeing her get inducted after the way she left the company. I figured she wouldn't want anything to do with the WWE or Vince after the original screwjob.

Yeah, I was going to say this. She won quite a few titles as well.

Guess she did the same as Bret and put it behind her. Wonder if she's secretly happy that Moolah's dead.
