April 2nd: Ring of Honor will be in Houston, TX this weekend for two gigantic events. Both events take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida de las Americas, Houston, TX 77010. "Supercard of Honor IV" will take place on Friday night with a bell time of 8:00 PM. This event features Nigel McGuinness vs. Jerry Lynn for the ROH World Title; KENTA vs. Davey Richards for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title; Tyler Black & The Necro Butcher vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Austin Aries; Roderick Strong vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima; Byan Danielson vs. Alex Koslov; World Tag Team Champion El Generico, vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brent Albright vs. NWA World Champion, Blue Demon, Jr. in a Four Corner Survival; World Tag Team Champion Kevin Steen, Jay Briscoe, & Magno vs. Chris Hero, Eddie Edwards, & Incognito; Colt Cabana vs. D-Lo Brown; plus more. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door on Friday night.

April 2nd: On Saturday we have a special matinee Pay-Per-View taping with a start time of 2:00 PM. For those fans attending the WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony at night and the ROH show in the afternoon, the buildings are right next to each other. You won't have to miss either event. Ring of Honor presents "Take No Prisoners" featuring a Dream Tag Team Match with GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion KENTA & Tyler Black vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima & Austin Aries; Bryan Danielson vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Erick Stevens vs. D-Lo Brown in a Four Corner Survival; ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli vs. NWA World Champion Blue Demon Jr. & Brent Albright; Jimmy Jacobs vs. The Necro Butcher in a No DQ War; Alex Koslov vs. Roderick Strong; ROH World Tag Team Champions Kevin Steen & El Generico, Jay Briscoe, & Magno vs. The American Wolves, Chris Hero, & Incognito; Colt Cabana vs. Ace Steel; plus more. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door on Saturday afternoon.

April 2nd: This Saturday's episode of Ring of Honor on HDNet features a great main event of "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Austin Aries. Other bouts include Sterling James Keenan vs. Erick Stevens, Dark City Fight Club vs. Cheech & Cloudy, and The Necro Butcher vs. Chris Hero. For more information including air dates and times click here: http://www.hd.net/ringofhonor.html

April 2nd: “That Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero has claimed that he’s perfected the rolling elbow strike due to knowledge bestowed on him by the legendary Mitsuharu Misawa. Others simply claim that his knockout prowess is due to an obviously loaded green elbow guard. ROH officials have been unable to find any concrete evidence to prove that the elbow guard has been doctored in any way, and super agent Larry Sweeney refuses to comment other than to praise the deadly precision with which Hero has been able to dispatch his opponents. Now Hero will have the chance to put that elbow to use as his opponents for ROH’s return to Canada have been finalized. On April 17th in Montreal, Hero will face rising Canadian star Frankie the Mobster in singles competition. A win by Frankie could secure him future ROH appearances, while Sweet-N-Sour Incorporated claims that this contest is nothing more than a “sparring session”. Then on April 18th in Markham, the challenge for Hero would appear greater as he’s signed to face the Necro Butcher! These two recently met during the inaugural ROH on HDNet television tapings, and that match will air this weekend on HDNet! Can Hero “pad” his personal win column in Canada?

April 2nd: A pair of tag team matches has been signed for Dayton on April 24th. First, the Phoenix Twins will make their Dayton ROH debut as they oppose the team of Austin Aries and “Addicted to Love” Rhett Titus. This marks the first time that they will team since the camaraderie between Aries, Titus, and Kenny King came to light in Pittsburgh. Can the athletic Phoenix Twins score the huge upset, or is this just the beginning of great things for Aries and his newfound friends? Also, the Dark City Fight Club has been very impressive since debuting in ROH back at Proving Ground ’09, and they’ve run roughshod over everyone they’ve faced in ROH since then. Now they will see a rematch from Proving Ground ’09 Night One, as they will face the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Kevin Steen and El Generico in non-title action. The DCFC couldn’t score the upset back in Coral Springs, but now they have momentum on their side while the champs have been busy trying to fight off the American Wolves. Can the Fight Club knock off one of the best tag teams on the globe?

April 2nd: Chicago Ridge will be buzzing on April 25th as two big matches have also been signed. It looks like “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson’s fight against the Embassy will continue in Chicago as Prince Nana has secured a singles match between Danielson and his “crown jewel”, Jimmy Rave! Rave and Bison Smith fell to Dragon and Colt Cabana at the Seventh Anniversary show in New York, and now Rave wants redemption. He hasn’t forgotten the past, and wants nothing more than to set in the heel hook and slay the Dragon. Can Rave use the past to his advantage? Also signed for Chicago Ridge, a special attraction has been signed as Larry Sweeney has gotten Chris Hero signed to one of his highest profile matches since returning from Japan. On April 25th, Hero will face Tyler Black! Sweeney and Hero know that a victory over Black could catapult Hero into title contention, and they would love nothing more than to see that happen sooner than later. Black is also preoccupied, looking over his shoulders at all times for Austin Aries and Jimmy Jacobs. Get ready Chicago, besides those great matches you’ll also witness the “homecoming” of Colt Cabana ! Tickets are on sale now at www.rohwrestling.com. Don’t miss it!

April 2nd: After conversations yesterday, we have learned that ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness has been strongly advised by medical personnel that further injury to either of his arms could result in surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation process which would keep him out of action for several months. The safety and well-being of every performer is without question the top priority for ROH officials but McGuinness has informed everyone involved that nothing will stop him from “shattering Geritol Lynn’s ridiculous dreams”. Those comments aside, ROH officials are considering McGuinness a “game time” decision. Should McGuinness ultimately be unable to compete this weekend in Houston, ROH officials and the Booking Committee are prepared to shift the card.

April 2nd: Jimmy Jacobs faces the Necro Butcher as part of “Take No Prisoners” on Saturday in Houston as outlined in this week’s main page article. But Jimmy will see Necro again, this time as part of another of the Television Main Event for Ring of Honor on HDNet. On April 10th in South Philly it will be tag team warfare as Jacobs and the gargantuan Brodie Lee will take on the Necro Butcher and Delirious! HDNet executives consider their network a family-friendly platform, but they have seen the type of carnage that can result when Jacobs and his hatred are at full bore. Considering the history and bad blood in this match, there is no telling how far any of these men will go to destroy each other!

April 2nd: The Buy 3, Get 1 Free Ring of Honor DVD Sale is back at www.rohwrestling.com. The sale will also be in effect at this weekend's live events in Houston. New DVD releases include Proving Ground 2009 weekend from Florida. "Proving Ground 2009 Night 1" from 2/6/09 in Coral Springs, FL features Tyler Black vs. Davey Richards; Kevin Steen & El Generico vs. Dark City Fight Club, Nigel McGuinness vs. Brent Albright; Bryan Danielson & Jerry Lynn vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious; Necro Butcher vs. Austin Aries; plus more. "Proving Ground 2009 Night 2" from 2/7/09 in Orlando, FL features Bryan Danielson vs. El Generico in a great match; Nigel McGuinness vs. D-Lo Brown for the ROH World Title; Tyler Black & Necro Butcher vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Delirious, Davey Richards vs. Kevin Steen; a wild six man tag; plus more.

April 2nd: You can now save 30% Off the regular price on live event tickets for ALL upcoming Ring of Honor events. No discount code is needed. Ticket prices have already been reduced at ROHWrestling.com.

April 2nd: We’ll be back on Monday with an answer as to whether or not the “Tables are Legal” tag team title match between the American Wolves and Steen and Generico will happen in Philly, as well as more match and talent announcements for Montreal, Markham, Dayton, and Chicago, and the aftermath from ROH’s huge debut deep in the heart of Texas!

Hero vs Black should be all kinds of awesome!

April 7th: New ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn has stated many times that he will be a fighting champion. Judging by the two huge matches he just signed to take place in Dayton and Chicago the weekend of April 24th and 25th, Jerry’s well on his way to living up to that statement. In Dayton on the 24th, he’s signed to defend the title against a man who has been on a roll after returning from his tour of Japan, Roderick Strong! Roddy was 2-for-2 in Houston, defeating both Katsuhiko Nakajima and Alex Koslov in tremendous matches. Then, on the 25th when ROH returns to Chicago, Lynn will put the title on the line against a man making his return to the Windy City – returning home – Colt Cabana! Can Lynn make it past Strong as champion? Can Cabana make history at "The Homecoming 2" in Chicago? Tickets to both events are on sale now for 30% Off until Thursday morning at www.rohwrestling.com, don’t be left out!

April 7th: An outstanding tag team contest has been signed to round out the card for April 18th in suburban Toronto. The American Wolves – Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards – have been bloodthirsty in their pursuit of the ROH World Tag Team Titles, currently held by Kevin Steen and El Generico. That pursuit will be put on hold in Markham as they have signed to face a dream tag team of sorts – Tyler Black and Bryan Danielson! Rumor has it that Danielson requested to team with Tyler, and right away their team will be tested. Will the Wolves continue their climb toward greatness, or will the “best in the world” and the “next world champ” stop them in their tracks? Be there and find out!

April 7th: ROH is happy to announce that two other big matches have been signed for the Dayton/Chicago return on April 24th and 25th. First for Dayton on April 24th, a big singles contest has been inked. It will pit that “Young Knockout Kid” Chris Hero against a man making his return to Dayton, Colt Cabana! Hero has been using the alleged “loaded elbow” to secure win after win as of late, while Cabana is known for a bionic elbow of his own. Can Hero ruin Cabana’s return to Dayton or will Cabana avoid being concussed by the KO kid? Also, a Three-Way-Dance has just been signed for Chicago Ridge on the 25th. It will pit Claudio Castagnoli versus Roderick Strong versus Jimmy Jacobs! What insanity will Jacobs have in store? Can Roddy keep up his winning ways? Will the “very European” Castagnoli dominate against the two much smaller men? Tickets are on sale now!

April 7th: Ring of Honor officials are happy to announce that “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush will return to ROH on May 8th in Boston and May 9th in Edison! Quackenbush was very impressive in defeat during his last ROH appearances, and now he looks to secure a couple victories. We’ll have his opponents soon, right here in the Newswire.

April 7th: We received a voicemail in the office yesterday informing us that a “trailer” is on its way from Los Angeles and should be arriving soon.

April 7th: You can see a recap of this past weekend's Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet show at http://blip.tv/file/1963613.

April 7th: Both voices of “Ring of Honor Wrestling on HDNet”, Dave Prazak and Mike Hogewood, will be in Philadelphia this week as ROH and HDNet tape six more weeks of television at the Arena in South Philly. Five of the Six television main events have been announced. What will close out the tapings as the sixth TV main event? You’ll have to find out in person. And don’t forget, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair will make his ROH on HDNet debut as well. Tickets are available now at www.rohwrestling.com for both days of taping.

Joey Ryan.

I'm glad ROH is bringing him in, however I'd rather see Human Tornando. They hinted at it a few days ago when they said someone from cali is coming to ROH. Heres a vid if you never seen him before. He was also in WSX on the team thats 70's team or something like that.

ROH needs to team up Aries with Ryan.

April 8th: News broke this morning as Kevin Steen and El Generico have answered Sylvain Grenier’s challenge and selection of the American Wolves as his partners for April 17th when ROH returns to Montreal! As stated by Steen via video this morning at(http://www.rohvideos.com/watch?v=mhnZiy_HW6Q), Steen and Generico have selected “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson as their partner, and now the main event for April 17th is set! Grenier has been running his mouth on Canadian Sports network RDS for weeks, and now he’ll have to back it up when ROH returns to Centre Jean-Claude Malepart. Tickets are available at www.rohwrestling.com, and will be available at the door. Has Grenier picked the perfect partners to beat the champs, or will the best tag team in the world and the “best in the world” finally get him to shut his mouth? Be there and find out!

April 8th: Just signed for Dayton on April 24th is a Four Corner Survival. Claudio Castagnoli, deeply entrenched in a feud with Brent Albright, will get a respite of sorts as he’ll face Silas Young, Matt “M-Dogg” Cross, and the debuting “Skullkrusher” Rasche Brown. Brown is a Midwest veteran and may be one of the few that can claim to be more powerful than Castagnoli. At 6’5” and 270 pounds, Brown is poised to make a strong impression on ROH, and he’ll aim to do just that in Dayton on the 24th!

April 8th: Also signed this morning is tag team action for Chicago Ridge and “The Homecoming II” on April 25th. The Dark City Fight Club has seen their stock go through the roof since debuting at “Proving Ground 2009”, and their performances on ROH on HDNet have only solidified their standing in ROH’s tag team division. They will face Kevin Steen and El Generico in Dayton, and in the Windy City they will face a team hoping to impress in a similar way – Tweek and Dash, The Phoenix Twins. The Twins have turned heads in limited ROH action, and now have their biggest test. Will the DCFC continue their dominance, or will the Phoenix Twins make their name in ROH in Chicago?

April 8th: Colt Cabana sent word to ROH officials that he’s very excited to be appearing once again in Philadelphia and even more so as part of the ROH on HDNet television tapings. To that end, Cabana has requested, and been granted, some open mic time to address the Philly faithful. There’s no telling what tomfoolery will come out of Cabana’s mouth!

April 8th: In addition to “Lightning” Mike Quackenbush, we are happy to announce that Jimmy Rave, Jimmy Jacobs, and the Dark City Fight Club will appear in both Boston on May 8th and Edison and May 9th. In addition, “The Last Of A Dying Breed” Eddie Kingston has signed, and will appear in Edison on May 9th! We’ll have more names as we move forward!

Is Chris Hero one of the best promo guy these days or what??? A Double also had a real good promo.

I agree with you SP about Ryan/Aries, however it looks like they start with giving Ryan a good singles push. Perhaps later on this year those two will be main event super team.

Is Chris Hero one of the best promo guy these days or what???

He's always been a great promo guy when he's serious Hero (See pretty much his whole feud with Kingston), but since he's usually playing a goof, we end up getting some less than stellar promos.

I should add, part of the reason why Hero's promos on Kingston are usually great, is due to the fact that they actually hate one another in real life.

It'll be awesome to see Skullkrusher in ROH. He's wrestled Milwaukee indy's for years. Hopefully this will be the beginning of his big break.

Ring of Honor owner Cary Silkin revealed why he is booking Ric Flair on his shows in a recent interview with ScrippsNews.com. "Ric Flair is one of the Babe Ruths of pro wrestling," Silkin said. "He has a lot of relevance. I love Bruno Sammartino and we were very successful when he came to visit the company once in New York. But a 19-year-old wouldn't know who he was unless he was a wrestling historian. A 19-year-old or 69-year-old would know Ric Flair.”

"Bringing him in not only gives us a tremendous amount of credibility but also a much-needed recognizable face. As great as our guys are, I'm a realist. Unless you're an Internet wrestling fan, you're not going to know who Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness or The Briscoes are. We need to attract the rest of the world. I think Ric is the perfect person to put into that spot." Silkin added.

Id be proud to bring in ric flair also. I think flair being in roh is great. Hey maybe one more match for the nature boy in roh vs danielson? Now that would be awesome.

- April 14th: Ring of Honor returns to Pay-Per-View THIS Friday night with "Caged Collision". This event will be available through In Demand, DISH Network, Direct TV, & TVN in the United States, and in Canada with Bell Express Vu, & Viewer's Choice Canada. Highlighting this event is Steel Cage Warfare featuring Roderick Strong, Erick Stevens, Brent Albright, Ace Steel, & Jay Briscoe vs. Sweet 'N' Sour Incorporated. Also, Nigel McGuinness vs. El Generico for the ROH World Title; Bryan Danielson & Tyler Black vs. Austin Aries & Jimmy Jacobs; The Necro Butcher & Jerry Lynn vs. Age of the Fall; Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kevin Steen; plus more. ROH has set the standard by giving you true professional wrestling on pay-per-view at an affordable price. Click here for more details on this big event http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2728.

- The big news coming out of the ROH/HDNet National Television tapings is that we have new Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions! The American Wolves – Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards – defeated Kevin Steen and El Generico in a brutal ‘Tables Are Legal' match in Philadelphia to win the titles! Their first defense will now be in Markham this Saturday when they face Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black! But their war with Steen and Generico is far from over. Should Danielson and Black capture the gold in Markham, it could turn the tag team division upside-down, but should the Wolves retain in Canada, they will face Steen and Generico in a rematch. Just signed for Chicago Ridge on the 25th, it will be the American Wolves versus Steen and Generico in a 2-out-of-3 falls tag title rematch!

- New ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn has heard the catcalls and discontent from a segment of the ROH faithful, but thus far, he says it isn't a distraction. "I know that people are entitled to their opinion," said Lynn. "And I get that. What I don't get is people getting personal and disrespectful." Lynn is referring to a segment of fans in Philadelphia who unleashed a very audible "(Expletive) Lynn" chant at him. "I've worked as hard as anyone in wrestling and I'm very proud of what I accomplished. Winning the ROH World Title really is icing on the cake, and I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to work twice as hard as I worked to get here, regardless if the naysayers like it or not." Lynn is scheduled to defend the World Title in Dayton on April 24th against Roderick Strong, and on April 25th in Chicago against Colt Cabana.

- We have a lineup change for Montreal! Stemming from Philadelphia and the HDNet television tapings, ROH officials and the Booking Committee have made a change to the scheduled tag team match involving Brent Albright and Claudio Castagnoli. Since Castagnoli now has some association to Prince Nana and his Embassy, as evidenced by the interference on Claudio's behalf by Nana and Ernie Osiris, the tag team match will now see Claudio Castagnoli and Jimmy Rave with Prince Nana take on Brent Albright and Colt Cabana! Cabana came to the aid of Albright in Philadelphia, and agreed to the change in his match almost before it was presented. Albright wants nothing more than to take out his frustration on Claudio, and neither Claudio nor Nana would offer a comment.

- The change mentioned above also gives Montreal the grudge match of a lifetime. It will now be Tyler Black versus Jimmy Jacobs one-on-one! Jacobs is protesting the card change to anyone that will listen, but this Friday in Montreal, the time for talk will be done! They faced each other as part of the very first main event on ROH on HDNet, but rest assured, in Montreal it will be a totally different ballgame. The hatred between Jacobs and Black has been simmering, and it could boil over this Friday!

- ROH officials are happy to announce that the charismatic Egotistico Fantastico has been added to the Dayton and Chicago Ridge events taking place on April 24th and 25th. In Dayton on the 24th, he'll take on the maniacal Jimmy Jacobs in singles action, and in Chicago Ridge, he'll face "Skullkrusher" Rasche Brown. ROH officials are high on Ego's talents and look forward to seeing him shine!

- ROH is excited about their return to Boston on May 8th and Edison and May 9th! Just signed for Boston and Edison: Current ROH World Champion Jerry Lynn, Bryan Danielson, Kevin Steen and El Generico, Jay Briscoe, Tyler Black, Current ROH World Tag Team Champions – The American Wolves, Kenny King, The Necro Butcher, and Colt Cabana! More talent will be added and matches will be announced soon, right here in the Newswire.

- We have two new specials running at ROHWrestling.com until Thursday morning. You can now save $10 Off reserved seating tickets for all upcoming live Ring of Honor events. Also, save 15% off your next order on almost everything we sell. Full details on the sale along with the 15% off discount code can be found here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2730.

- April 15th Newswire: The first review is in for Ring of Honor "Caged Collision" premiering this Friday night on Pay-Per-View. Sean Hopkins of WrestlingNewsWorld.com writes "Another top-notch effort from Ring of Honor and with as inexpensive as ROH pay-per-views are, I can't think of any reason to not recommend this show. ROH always puts together something special for their PPV offerings, and their hard work is paying off in dividends. The production quality is finally at a point where it matches the quality of the wrestling, the visuals are crisp, and sounds come through cleanly. Every guy at this PPV brought their A-game, every match made sense, and all of the video packages and interviews that aired between matches did a whole lot to help the overall flow of the show. No one works harder, top to bottom, at putting on a show for the fans than Ring of Honor." This event will be available through In Demand, DISH Network, Direct TV, & TVN in the United States, and in Canada with Bell Express Vu, & Viewer's Choice Canada. A teaser trailer is available at (http://www.rohvideos.com/watch?v=LBT5FUfatu8). ROH has set the standard by giving you true professional wrestling on pay-per-view at an affordable price. Click here for more details on this big event http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2728.

- Two big singles matches have been signed for Dayton on April 24th. First, in a rematch from the main event at "Proving Ground '09– Night One", ½ of the new ROH World Tag Team Champions, Davey Richards, will face perhaps the most popular competitor currently in Ring of Honor – Tyler Black! Tyler came up with the victory in their first encounter, but now Davey is on a roll. And with the tag belts on the line this Saturday in Markham, could Tyler once again hold half of the World Tag Team titles when they meet in Dayton?

- Speaking of Tag Champions, Eddie Edwards has gone on record that he wants to show the fans in Dayton that he's also championship quality in a singles match. To that end, he's challenged the man that many consider the "best in the world" - Bryan Danielson. It'll be Black-Richards II and Danielson versus Edwards on April 24th!

- The "crown jewel" of the Embassy, Jimmy Rave, is already upset at the fans of Ring of Honor. It seems that his inbox has been flooded with threatening email after threatening email, telling him that massive showers of Toilet Paper are in store for him where ever he may go. Prince Nana himself is not amused, "These fools! They threaten my crown jewel with attacks from the sky? They vow attack with hygienic papers? The Embassy will strike with precision at the source of these paper attacks; we will strike hard! Prepare!" Rave will be in singles action in Dayton.

- Tag Team action is signed for Chicago Ridge on April 25th! Austin Aries recently took a liking to Rhett Titus and Kenny King. In fact, Aries and Titus will join forces to battle the Phoenix Twins in Dayton. Now, it seems that "Addicted to Love" will have another opportunity to learn from "the greatest man that ever lived". Titus and Aries will team once again in Chicago Ridge, this time taking on Silas Young and "Sugarfoot" Alex Payne. Young has taken issue with Aries' mouth in the past, and Payne and Titus have competed with each other going back to academy days. What tricks of the trade will Aries show Rhett this time around? Can Sugarfoot pull off another upset in the Windy City?

- More names have been signed for ROH's return to Boston on May 8th and Edison on May 9th. Just confirmed: Claudio Castagnoli, Delirious, Erick Stevens, and Brent Albright. The first matches for that weekend of events will be announced tomorrow, right here in the Newswire.

- Colt Cabana (with the ‘help' of Kevin Steen) has a message - in French - for all of the fans coming to see ROH's return to Montreal on Friday night. Follow the link and enjoy! http://www.rohvideos.com/watch?v=_cxCyx7SMrA

- You can now follow all of the happening in Ring of Honor on Twitter! Visit http://twitter.com/ROHonHDNet to keep up with everything Ring of Honor, with real time updates. Get your news, views, opinions and more all in one place! Mark Cuban is already a follower, and links to his page and more can be found at the ROH on HDNet Twitter!

- Less than 24 hours remain in our big ticket sale where you can save $10 Off reserved seat tickets for ALL upcoming live events. Don't miss this great opportunity. You can also save 15% off your next order on almost everything we sell at ROHWrestling.com. For complete details click here: http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/article.aspx?id=2730.
