Sacking Wenger won't change anything huge, the club itself needs an overhaul not just the manager.
Agreed but he doesn't have anything else to offer. If you were underperforming in your job Dale, and not meeting targets, you'd be sacked, same would be said for me. Wenger's target is to win a trophy and he hasn't done that for 7 years, so why is he still in a job?
Yes Pete but it's not like Mancheser United went 26 years without a title under SAF is it..... Like I said, Wenger should be gone.
Saying Wenger doesn't have anything else to offer is just ludicrous, if that guy gets fired then you can rest assure nearly every top club in the world will be in for him. Also, you're oversimplifying situation look at the amount of top players he's lost every seasonAgreed but he doesn't have anything else to offer. 12/13 - Van Persie, Song.
Say what you want about not winning trophies, but i'd love to see how the others would cope if they were having their best players cherry picked year in year out. The fact that he sill manages to qualify for the CL is remarkable.
Ideally, they would have the perfect balance of qualifying for the CL every year and winning a cup here and there or challenging for the league but the 4th spot is just so damn competitive and that needs to be their priority because they're way off the pace of challenging for the league. Champions League football pretty much makes the world go round for top players and chances are if you're not in the CL, they're not interested although obviously there's exceptions from time to time.
If the dangers of Arsenal slipping out of the CL weren't already blatantly obvious then they need to look no further than Liverpool. Sure they won a cup trophy, but since slipping out of the CL they haven't looked like getting back in at all with the lesser quality players they're able to attract.
Couldn't Wenger be more stronger when trying to keep players? Surely manager has a say in it and Fergie managed to keep Ronaldo longer than expected.
Thoughts on the FA Cup draw?
Brighton VS. Newcastle sounds a stand out to me. With the problem Newcastle are having and with it being at Brighton I can see a tasty game and atmosphere there with a rough time for the away side.
The question is... Which team do I support lol...
Gonna be a fantastic game and Newcastle would be silly to write off Brighton, this could be a Prem League fixture next season, so I'm gonna be watching this with intrigue... No doubt I'll be at the game with my ex-gf in the Newcastle end though P:
So probs end up cheering Newie but secretly hoping to see Brighton doing well to.
