I'm a bit unsure of the Titans signing Ryan Tannehill to a insane 4-year $118 million contract. I get the fact that he made a comeback after tearing his ACL in 2017, taking over for Mariota after numerous injuries and inconsistencies and taking the team to the AFC Championship Game, but I think the Titans are getting too hasty on him, by giving him that much money. He no doubt performed very well last season, I liked his leadership, I like the way he managed the ball making few mistakes, but I'm questionable if he can actually keep performing at a high rate for the next four years. If I'd owned the team, I would at least give him a 3-year contract for $60 million. Speaking of Mariota, he's now a Raider.
In related team news, the Titans places a franchise tag on Derick Henry. They have to keep as their franchise player for the way he's performed for the past two seasons. He's a fucking workhorse and he deserves to get paid big money. Lock him up Titans!
I couldn't believe the Texans got rid of DeAndre Hopkins by trading him to the Cardinals. Bill O'Brien's the most idiotic head coach in the NFL for making such a degrading move to send perhaps, a top 3 wide receiver in the league, to a team whose offense got a huge upgrade to their receiving corps, playing side-by-side with Larry Fitzgerald. Somewhere, Kyler Murray's giggling like a schoolgirl and Deshaun Watson wants to choke the piss out of O'Brien for getting rid of his key receiver. If the Texans miss the playoffs in 2020, I think O'Brien deserves to get fired.
Jim Irsay made a smart move to give Philip Rivers a chance to win a Super Bowl before he calls is a career. He's got an offensive line around him, he's got TY Hilton to throw the ball to and running back Marlon Mack, to relive pressure for Rivers. Other than the Patriots, this was the best move for Rivers.
It looks like Cam's tenture in Carolina could be over, cause the Panthers signed a Teddy Bridgewater to a 3-year $63 million. He played very well taking over for Drew Brees when he injured his right thumb, he deserves another chance to get another starting gig.
Seriously, I couldn't believe the Buccaneers are signing Tom Brady instead of the Chargers. He's got a lot of weapons around him: Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, OJ Howard and Cameron Brate, to throw the ball to. If he can still stay healthy as a horse and if the Bucs tries to build a defense, then they are all set. Can't believe after 20 seasons of seeing Brady in a Patriots jersey, we'll get to see him in a Bucs jersey.
