Well it is the off season.

Oh and

The Minnesota Wild have landed prized free agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, sources told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun. Both deals are worth $98 million over 13 years.

For Parise, the move will be a homecoming after the Minneapolis native spent his first seven seasons with the New Jersey Devils. Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Detroit were among the teams pursuing Parise.

Suter joins the Wild after playing his first seven seasons with the Nashville Predators. The defenseman had received a contract offer of $90 million over 13 years from the Red Wings, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Parise, who will turn 28 years old this summer, has registered 194 goals and 216 assists in 502 career games. He had 31 goals and 38 assists this past season, helping the Devils reach the Stanley Cup Final.

Suter, 27, has collected 38 goals and 200 assists in 542 career games. He had seven goals and 39 assists in 2011-12 en route to garnering All-Star honors.

Suter and Parise both were members of the 2003 draft class. Suter was taken seventh overall by the Predators while Parise went 17th to the Devils.

Crosby's 12 year $105 million dollar deal is insane. I mean, sure if he hadn't missed the last 2 years with concussions.

I was reading about that like a weeks ago, it's pretty crazy plus Malkin's contract is ending soon and i'm pretty sure he's gonna want that type of money as well. That's the only reason i can think my they traded Jordan Staal to the Hurricanes. Oh and speaking about Jordan Staal he signed a 10-year contract extension with the Hurricanes. He will make $6 million per year under the deal, which begins with the 2013-14 season. He is due to make $4.5 million this season.

Crosby's deal pretty much means they can't retain Malkin cause he's gonna need the same kind of cash and they can't have two deals like that on the books.

Well it looks like Luongo isn't gonna re-sign with the Canucks, any ideas where he might go?

Hopefully Bobby Lou gets to go back to Florida, I feel bad for the way the Canuck fans turned on him.

Went from "LOUUU!" to "BOOO!!" so quickly.

My favorite name is LOLuongo.

Also it's pretty sad that Lidstrom has retired but he's staying on as a Red Wings scout.

Lou did the Canucks great but he's right, it's time to go. He can't win the big ones and that's what the Canucks need. Sneids is going to be an All Star for years to come.

Didn't Crosby just take a pay cut so the Pens could get two new guys? I mean he doesn't need a huge contract considering he's got a shit ton of endorsements.

Jagr to the Stars is a very interesting move. Sure he's not the young Jagr, but still. That's the level of veteran leadership the Stars have been seriously missing.

Jagr did play on the line with Giroux last year so we'll see, and i have a gut feeling that Rick Nash will be traded to Philly to make up for the Jagr loss. Well that or the Rangers seeing how Gaborik is gonna miss some time at the beginning of the year.

Flyers Sign Shea Weber To 14-Year, $100-Plus Million Offer Sheet. Nashville has a week to decide whether to match the offer. If they Predators opt not to do so, it is believed they will receive a package of four first-round draft picks from the Flyers.

$100M saved and 4 Draft Picks gained, if they match they are crazy, and I'm a big believer in Weber's talent so that says something.

The Columbus Blue Jackets traded their captain to the Rangers on Monday along with defenseman Steven Delisle and a conditional third-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft in exchange for forwards Brandon Dubinsky and Artem Anisimov, defenseman Tim Erixon and the Rangers' first-round selection in the 2013 Draft.

If the Rangers advance to the 2013 Stanley Cup Final, Columbus will retain its third-round pick.
