- Wilson would reflect on being benched for the start of last week games against The Pats and would make it clear that he had learned a lot watching from the side and it had proved to be an important lesson for him and it was clear from his point of view that HC Saleh had a unique mind and was capable of leading the Jets to great things moving forward.

- It would be confirmed that Michael Carter’s dislocated elbow meant he would now be out injured for the next three weeks, which would be a massive blow for the Jets and their rushing game.

- Todd Gurley returns from injury but seemed aware following Carter’s recent run of form he would have to work really hard to retain the spot of 1st string HB.

- Saleh would make a statement that he was very much determined for the Jets to retain a 0.500-win percentage moving forward and that the team only needed four more wins to accomplish this target, but getting those wins were not going to be easy.

- The first half would start off with both the Bengals and the Jets bumping heads with both teams’ defenses holding the line and preventing the other from crossing the line that would see the first quarter end without a single point being scored by either team.

- The second quarter would prove to be a very tough period of the game for the Jets. The Bengals would put their first point on the board followed up by converting a field goal to give themselves a 10-0 lead on the road. On the next play Todd Gurley would injure his ankle on his return game and the halfback would leave the field on a stretcher with it looking like it potentially might have been a season ending injury.

- Wilson would end up throwing an interception that the Bengals would claim within their own goal line with Mike Hilton making a 102 yard dash for a Pick Six. Wilson would make another mistake by fumbling the ball, and following that mistake the Bengals would score another TD with the half ending with the Bengals leading 24-0.

- The Jets would continue to make mistakes with the balls in hand with two further fumbles, one would lead to a FG whilst the second would lead to the Bengals scoring another touchdown and then a third with Cincinatti taking a massive lead and completely shutting out the Jets at 41-0.

- The game would end with the Jets finally getting a point on the board with Wilson throwing a TD to Cole for a short reception with the game ending 41-7, in what can only be described as a nightmare game for New York.

- Trey Hendrickson would be seen as the standout player for the Bengals amassing 11 tackles and 5 sacks, with Saleh commenting that Hendrickson was a great addition to the Bengals lineup and players of his quality would be a great addition to most team in the league and that if Hendrickson ever wanted to move to New York he should give him a call.

- It would be confirmed that Gurley would be out injured for eight weeks - meaning that the Jets currently had three halfbacks out injured.

- The Jets would come into the game against the Colts showing signs of still being shell shocked from the through beating handed to them by the Bengals last week, with both the offense and defense looking a bit cagey. Nonetheless the Jets would be the first to break the deadlock with Johnson making a 1-yard rushing TD to put the Jets ahead. The Colts would manage to get a FG of their own to end the first quarter 7-3.

- Wilson would end up making a costly mistake as he would fumble losing the ball 27 yards out the Jets own territory - with the Colts punishing him for the mistake and driving forward to score a TD and take 7-10. Not long after the Colts would penetrate the Jets’ defense again and score a second TD to extend their lead to 7-17.

- During the last minute of the half, the Jets would elect to throw the ball on 4th & 10 rather than looking to kick an easy field goal whilst in the red zone. Wilson would throw a delicious short pass that would be plucked out of the air by Davis to close the gap between both teams taking the score to 14-17.

- The Second half would start better for the Jets as they would retake the lead following a short distance rushing TD for Perine taking the score to 21-17 in what would be the only points scored in Q3.

- The final quarter would prove to be a real test for the Jets, with Wilson once again costing them big by suffering from a big sack that would lead to a loss of territory and the next phase the Colts would take back the lead taking the scores to 21-24. The Jets would have a chance of leveling the scores, but Gostkowski would fail to convert with the Colt remaining in control.

- Not long after Indianapolis would go further ahead by kicking an FG of their own, but with the score at 21-27 - there was still time on the clock for the Jets to score a TD and win the game if they scored the PAT. The Jets would push their way down the field knowing that time was against them, and once again the pressure seemed to prove too much for Wilson as he would throw an interception and allow the Colts to take their foot off the gas and run down the clock that would result in the Jets losing their second game in a row.

- Commentary would comment that after nine weeks in the season, Zach Wilson had the lowest amount of TD and Passing Yardage of any starting QB in the league - although this wasn’t the biggest of surprises considering the Jets offensive scheme seemed to be more built around their rushing game.

- With eight games played the Jets now find themselves halfway through the regular season with five wins to their name. A lot of attention has been drawn to Zach Wilson who is still learn his craft as a Quarterback in the NFL but is slowly acclimatizing himself to the Jets way of life and fitting into the schemes and strategies that Head Coach Robert Saleh is hoping to instill within the franchise. The Jets still find themselves topping the AFC East, but there is still a long way to go and the Jets and in particular Wilson are going to have to minimize unwarranted mistakes on the field moving forwards. The Jets are greeted by good news, with Michael Carter being cleared by the medical team and will return to the team in next week's Division game against the Buffalo Bills.

- The contest would prove to be a tough encounter between both teams, and that the first half would see both team’s defenses shutting the gates and preventing the other from passing through and gaining real territory.

- The Jets would end the half with a 0-9 lead following three field goals, but the half would be marred by a massive injury. With Zach Wilson leaving the field with a suspected broken hand and with there being real potential of it being a season ending injury.

- The Jets looked to get back on winning ways with Carter scoring a TD on his return from injury giving the Jet a comfortable three score lead at 0-15 at the start of Q3.

- The Bills seemed to really turn up the pressure though and would claim their first touchdown of the game, before forcing Flacco back and the Jets would end up conceding a safety at the end of the third quarter and another one at the start of the fourth quarter bridging the gap to 11-15.

- The Bills would surge ahead with another TD to take the scores to 18-15 and finally have control of the game, with the Jets looking in real danger of losing three games in a row. The Jets though would manage to reclaim the lead as Flacco would throw the ball to Kenny Yeboah with the young WR in his second year as a pro scoring his first career TD putting the Jets ahead 18-22. The Bills though would score a TD on their play, and the lead would change again with Buffalo leading 25-22.

- With it being a three-point game, the Jets would slowly work their way up the field with the clear intention of giving Stephen Gostkowski a chance to kick for three. The Jet’s kicker though would end up just missing the kick, with things going from bad to worse from the Jets now holding a record of 5-4.

- It would be confirmed after the game that Zach Wilson had broken his hand and would be forced to miss the next four games against the Dolphins, Texans, Eagles & Saints.

- The Jets would be given the challenge of doing battle with a fellow AFC East rival for the second time in two weeks but would start the game in impressive manner with Flacco throwing long to Davis, with the WR making 40 yds after the catch [70 yd] to score a TD and take the lead. Flacco would throw a second passing TD this time to Cole for a short pass that would see the Jets take a 14-0 lead for the rest of Q1.

- The Dolphins would respond with a touchdown of their own but would get greedy and go for the 2-point conversion but fail to break through the Jets D-line. Flacco would continue to impress and really prove himself as a worthy backup to Wilson as he would throw a third passing TD this time to Fitzgerald with the Jets holding an impressive 21-6 lead at the end of the first half.

- All the good work from the first half would quickly be undone though, as the Dolphins would be quick to score two TDS of their own in the third quarter, with a 2-point conversion after the second leveling the game to 21-apiece.

- Carter would me making some room down the field but end up fumbling the ball and the ball would be recovered by the Dolphins that would lead to a defensive touchdown and put the Dolphins ahead - with the game ending with the score 21-28 and the Jets once again suffering a loss in gut wrenching fashion and finding themselves on a losing streak of four in a row.

- August Kross would reflect that so far, she was very pleased with the work that Saleh and the rest of the coaching staff had put into the team and that with five wins on the board she was hopeful that the Jets were on the up and this was a team that in the next few season that could become serious playoff contenders. Kross would comment that Wilson, Carter and Vera-Tucker were all proving themselves as stars of the future and that under Robert’s (Saleh) tutelage she knew that the Jets would become great again and soar to the highest of heights.

- Despite the loss - Bryce Hall would be recognized for his individual performance against the Dolphins by being awarded the prize of AFC Defensive Player of the Week by making 10 tackles and intercepting the ball twice. DC Stephen Meyer would comment that Hall was phenomenal and there were times that he felt underqualified when trying to direct traffic and organize that D-Line at times and personally felt some responsibility for the team having lost four in a row and that he had to really step up his own game if he was to retain his position.

7tjA2_XfIKBf2kNedwJqde5XqNWmoiwSqSI_pOI948TT84FBHeQeywkOJdNtBQIFbNvPExeLP6O2E9GSGjHoR-rWv68_Xh-BSAqCWmsm0Gkx8X1fsBsVcxb7tsDfHFsevH4G1erQ3ul9JI3K-Xx6P0buh4CLN08pi_cFLeTncUep_NxZDRZt_XA5cYz1cg

- Flacco was awarded the AFC Offensive Player of the Week in what was an impressive first half performance from the veteran QB. Flacco though when questioned on his accomplishment would make the point that being recognized for playing well, despite losing meant very little to him and he hoped he could be a play that Coach Saleh could rely on considering that Wilson would be out injured for another three weeks.

4BI5cJF-bUx5tMF0wfaM5KNTMyMOeyMEeYlljQW_STDvyZcQ7D-_KUYLuM0jViKLrW7uQDmMtO4zh6JrFZzYYi6ZWsQK4Nko8cOfdEVuusuVzHY9YEjBKcySbNkOEJPFIEH-hmmBb5eIZf7C0xxPfTCZ8uVPGPhW5RHwWoIqQDY2trWKMl5ns6pZL4URaw

- HC Robert Saleh wouldn’t hide his frustration about the fact that the Jets had lost four game in a row, and that apart from the Bengals game the other three games were winnable game that had seen the team lose because of sloppy mistakes and that a team that find themselves starting the season 4-0, should not six games later being at an even record of 5-5 and that losing to two divisional rivals in a row was not an acceptable result and that division games were critical to a team success in this league and this was something he was going to learning have to drill into his players in training this week. Saleh would end by making the point that getting a big victory in Houston over the Texans was vital otherwise some key starters could find themselves being vulnerable to be benched for younger and hungrier players.

AN20in7r5mf4_Ap44hzTvcJSBAuiT__f_uCoxuU-To93BxckstRfWR0RWA-NBv-FmB5jqzKECj8jAEdL68LXDAxsEeRxLI-KR8EhTfnkqWxZ8Xm2zxGtJerXSXYz2LRW9BVZouccchzdfYzNiTZtiTAQJ8X2xXgm4dfzRebLxe_LNlCQn3q0XwUA9XNnzg

- The Jet would be traveling to Houston against a team that were currently 7-3 in the league (losses to the Browns, Panthers & Titans). With a 34-27 win over the Panthers and 18-21 win over the Titans - many critics felt that if ever the Jets had a chance to end their losing run this was the perfect opponent for New York to end their slump and get back to winning ways.

- The Jets would arrive in Houston with a sense of spirit and determination that hadn’t been seen in weeks, and would score early with Flacco throwing short to TE Yeboah to take an early lead. Houston would respond quickly to score a touchdown of their own and it was clear that this was going to be an intense game between both teams. Q1 would end with the Jets kicking a field goal to take a 10-7 lead.

- With points on the board being of extra importance, the Jets would seem to elect kicking for goal over taking risks and looking to penetrate the red zone with Gostkowski scoring a further three FG in the second quarter. Those points wouldn’t be enough to keep the Jets ahead though, as the Texans would be more efficient with the ball and score two touchdowns of their own, ending the half just ahead at 19-21.

- The Jets would maintain their focus and have a positive start to the second half with Flacco having enough confidence to throw on the 4th down in the red zone to find Cole for a short pass and the TD to put the Jets 26-21 ahead, before the Jets would extend their lead by converting another FG.

- The final quarter of the game would really see the Jets relay ramp up offense and the New York Out would kick two more field goals before Braxton Berriros would score his first receiving TD of the season to put the Jets twenty plus points ahead of the Texans 42-21.

- Stephen Gostkowski would kick his eighth field goal of the day and equal the NFL record set by Rob Bironas in 2007 - with it spookily having also taken place against Texans. The Jets would break the 50 mark with Perine scoring a rushing touchdown, with the final point coming by way of a consolation TD for the Texans.

- The Jets would win the game 52-28 and claim a massive win, but also end their losing streak and get back to winning ways and claim their sixth W of the season. Kenny Yeboah had really impressed in the role of TE with Herndon out injured and was very much showing potential of being a starting option in the future.

- The Jets would come into the game full of confidence following their big win over the Texans and would have faith they would continue their winning ways and with the Eagles being the worst ranked team in the NFL [1-11] and currently on an eleven match losing streak, fans at the Meadowlands were expecting the Jets to pick up consecutive wins.

- The Jets would start well again with Flacco pulling off a veteran move by feigning a throw to the left and drawing in all the defensive players before instead cutting right and scoring a rushing TD. Philly would respond quickly with a TD of their own before kicking an FG to take a 10-7, which would come about following an interception by way of Flacco making a risky move that would not pay off with New York’s half of the field.

- The Eagles would really put pressure on the Jets and would intercept the ball one play after Flacco would be sacked for a big loss, with Philly looking better than they had all season and the rest of the second quarter would be tough for the Jets. The Eagles would claim a FG before they would follow up with an impressive rushing touchdown, but things wouldn’t end there. Flacco would throw an interception that would result in a Pick Six and the Eagles surging ahead 27-7.

- The Jets would use their final timeout with two seconds on the clock, and call Gostkowski onto the field with their star kicker very much being one of their key players last week. Unfortunately, he would fail to convert a 51 yard FG with the Jets looking as if they were approaching a loss against arguably the weakest team in the league.

- The start of the second half would see the Jets day go from bad to worse, with Flacco throwing another interception that would result in the Eagles second Pick Six of the game, with another Eagles TD coming shortly after taking the score to 41-7 and making the Jets’ chances of closing the gap minimal to none.

- Head Coach Saleh seemed to have had enough and brought Flacco off the field and he would be replaced by Jamie Newman - who made his Jets debut after having been promoted from the practice squad, after Wilson had broken his hand. Newman would impress and throw his first career passing TD to Davis taking the scores to 41-14, but it would be too little too late.

- The only point in the fourth quarter would come by way of a field goal from the Eagles which would be like rubbing salt in a wound, with the Jets just not being good enough and suffering a shock loss in the process to the statistically worst team in the NFL.

- Jamie Newman would be met with praises for his introduction to the game, with Flacco having thrown four costly interceptions and many criticizing the veteran for being the main reason for the team’s loss.

- It would be confirmed that Zach Wilson would return as a starter for the Jets in their next game against the New Orleans Saints. Wilson would be confirmed at not being at 100%, but with only five games left in the season it would be stated that Wilson felt that there was nothing more important than the Jets pushing strong in their final games and perhaps doing the unthinkable and seeing the Jets earn a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2010.

Bl0_nnWQFMrTn5r464yi7-Z_1lxcyqwJ2_To97iy4qM-Jm0cVxDCjeV1o-iYs1-WCEvvKJL9puqSzke1F6cGCkyi-m-R_lRIXkYFU5lLcv8-bnu8Xl0M4Q3yl8fnVayoYIe6UYvO3T4gpNzzAjm7HEIEn2Qvb1DbaSddC9TZI2yGpEVnwAirVmwMc8MaKw

- Larry Fitzgerald would reveal that despite being offered a contract extension, this would be his final season playing on the field and make it clear that he very enjoyed being part of the Jets and would continue to be part of the franchise next year as part of the Offensive Coaching Team.

foryoutube_oneburningquestion_afceast_190708.jpg

- The Jets currently hold a record of 6-6 and out of all the eight division leaders are the lowest ranked with the lowest win percentage. With five games remaining and two of these being against divisional rivals, there is no guarantee that New York will earn a playoff berth and there is still a chance that despite their great start they could still finish at the bottom of the pile.

- Wilson would make his first start since breaking his hand against the Bills during Week 10, with everyone involved in the organization hoping they would slump to another loss especially following their disheartening defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, it would be the Saints who would score first - only for Wilson to find Fitzgerald for a TD for the Jets to end Q1 7-7.

- The points would come quick and fast in the second quarter, with the first score coming by way of a Wilson interception that would result in the Saints pushing ahead with a TD during the next phase of play and would extend their lead to 17-7 with an FG.

- Wilson’s presence would be felt though as he would throw two more touchdowns the first to Fitzgerald and the second to Cole, with a Saints scoring a TD that would be sandwiched between both passing touchdowns with the half ending 24-21 in favor of New Orleans.

- The contest would remain close in Q3 with the Saint converting a FG, before Wilson would throw his fourth passing TD of the game finding Larry Fitzgerald for the third time in the game that would see the Jets take the lead for the first time in the game with the score at 27-28. The lead wouldn’t last long though, as the Saints would reach the end zone with a score of their own following an interception from Wilson and score a 2 PAT to take the score to 35-28.

- With hindsight Wilson should have perhaps been brought off the field for the remainder of the game as he looked shaky and tired, but Saleh had decided to keep faith in his rookie QB. Wilson would end up being sacked for a fumble, with the Saints punishing the Jets to score a TD after recovering the ball - before New Orleans would hammer the final nail in the coffin following a Wilson misthrow to score another TD and win the game 42-28.
