A generic question for many forums but a one that I must ask. So with Dexter ending this week and Breaking Bad ending next week, I need a good series to get into to keep me occupied for the next little bit. The only TV series that I ever finished really was The Shield and Firefly, mostly because I don't really watch much tv in general.

I've been contemplating starting to watch Sons of Anarchy, mainly because I watched parts of the 6th season premiere and it looks sick! The only things that I don't like are reality shows and anything to do with the supernatural (including zombies). So anyone got a good series that they're in love with?

AGENTS OF SHIELD! is about to start.

I would suggest Game of Thrones, but I guess that's pretty supernatural.

Hell on Wheels, and Boardwalk Empire are great shows, and my current favorites. There is also Vikings, which just started filming for season 2.

If you are willing to go back and watch shows, I would also suggest Rome, and Spartacus.

You should catch up on Under The Dome so you'd be ready for season 2

Utopia and Sherlock are both really good British tv shows I would highly recommend. Utopia is only six episodes, one season so far, but very intriguing, intelligent and fascinatingly stylistic drama-thriller type thing. Sherlock is two three-episode seasons, each episode is about as long as a full length film though, funny, dark and does despite being a modern-themed adaption it does far more justice to the source material than Guy Ritchie's films or Elementary. Hannibal is also very good. Star-studded cast with an especially excellent performance by Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lectar. It's a prequel to all of the films (except Hannibal Rising) but better than all save the original. It's dark, gorey as you'd expect if not more, but a few steps above other FBI procedurals with more a lot more continuity and focus on the growth and interaction between characters. The first season of ten episodes just concluded a few months ago, expected to start again next spring.

Well with what you have said, all I can really suggest that are still on the air these days is Sons of Anarchy and Ray Donovan. Ray Donovan just finished its first season on Showtime but it's shaping up to be a pretty good show. It is a bit of a slow mover at the start but give it time. Also you should give TWD a shot even if you aren't a big zombies guy. It's the show everyone watches. A pop-culture phenomenon. Yeah it may not be up to the quality of say, Breaking Bad, but it is enjoyable.

Shows that have finished that I'd suggest is The Sopranos (I'd be shocked if you haven't seen it already) and probably Chuck. First 2 or 3 seasons of Chuck are good but ends up going average after that and narrowly escaping cancellation by nbc once or twice for the final few seasons.

I don't watch any of those other big shows such as GoT, Sherlock, Newsroom, etc so can't suggest them!

Also, try Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. starting this week!
