PWInsider reported on Nov. 3 that the NWA professional wrestling organization held an eight-man elimination match on Nov. 3 to determine a new NWA World Champion, and a surprise ninth competitor came in and won the belt.
Chance Prophet, Justin "The Gift" Kincaid, Lance Erikson, Anthony Nese, "Greek God" Papadon, "Phat Daddy" Biggie Biggs, Lance Anoa'i and Damien Wayne competed in the elimination match for the vacant NWA World Championship.
However, when it came down to Wayne and Prophet as the final two men competing in the match, manager Dontay Brown came out with Tokyo Monster Kahagas and said that NWA President R. Bruce Tharpe said that Kahagas was allowed entry in the match as well. He then entered the match against Wayne and Prophet.
Wayne pinned Prophet with a piledriver and then Kahagas took out Wayne with a Tokyo Monster Driver to become the new NWA World Champion. Kahagas was the reigning NWA National Champion at the time of his title win.
The NWA Championship has existed since 2012 and has been held by men such as Lou Thesz, Buddy Rogers, Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat and Sting.
So a new champion, never heard of the guy. Will it make me watch NWA? No. The entire match that was there I have no idea who they are, it will end up being some low-named federation now.
