Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

They won the title because of Gasol. Gasol dominated that series. Not Kobe. Kobe wasn't clutch at all, he did all he could to lose game 7. Here's what PSYCH will read from this paragraph:

KOBE

CLUTCH

GAME 7

Check Rondo's numbers and Garnett's. Kobe defended his matchup better. He played better on the road in Boston where Gasol's averages went down in every category.

For the playoffs as a whole Kobe's numbers were better. His numbers in every closeout game besides that game 7 were better. People remember the tip vs OKC, but Pau no showed 47 minutes of that game. Pau no showed the close out versus Phoenix where he had like 9 points. In fact in the OCK series, Phoenix series, and Boston series the only other Laker besides Kobe to have any of their averages increase in any category away from Staples was Fisher.

So what the fuck are you talking about because no one with common sense would base a whole series, let alone title win off of one game to say they won because of Pau?

In fact Artest was the best player on the floor in all of game 7 on both teams, so why not give him MVP?

I mean in what world does someone post playoff averages of 29pts, 6rebs, 6asts, a steal, shoot 46% from the field, shoot 38% from three, 84% from the line, and average 40 minutes on one leg yet not be the most valuable player on a team or be thought to have fallen off?

Hahaha this is so easy.

I didn't read any of this.

Re: NBA Regular Season Discussion Thread

Sal = idiot who can't back up any claim with statical facts so he just has to say lol.

Legler made a good point about Kobe taking games over, saying that when he was younger he'd drive to the basket with ease and get the shot and/or get fouled. Now, he doesn't have the same explosiveness and he's forced to take more contested jumpers, leading to more inefficiency.

This right here I won't deny, but he can still get to the cup (not as much now as then which was expected as he had slowed some until January in both 04 and 07 when he had the same scope done) just not get a foul call in his favor. That is a large reason why he doesn't drive, and him not getting calls as well as Pau/Lamar are largely their and Phil's fault because they argue with the refs instead of letting their coach fight for them. Kobe took it to a whole different level when he said fu to that ref because he wasn't getting the same calls Salmons was getting doing the same thing (jumping into guys and throwing something up) and having a bad day to boot (auto accident). He shouldn't have blew up at the ref, and he is going to pay for doing so for a while from other refs because they will let defenders maul and handcheck him until they feel like he has learned his lesson. Shaq went through the same things when he said "these refs keep trying to take the motherfucking game over and make themselves stars".

Nope, I just won't back up arguments I don't care about. This is how it works: I say "Kobe sucked in the playoffs LOL," you spend 20 minutes writing a response, I fucking laugh at you. LMAO TTYL

All I have is what I saw, Kobe missing a thousand shots, and Gasol getting ignored in the post for long stretches against a gimpy KG but scoring easily when he was given the ball in good spots. You bait me, you get two sentences. I bait you, I get your semen-gargling opus on Kobe.

You two are so cute.

In other news, Amare Stoudemire is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the NBA.

You say that, but Pau shot under 50% for the series and was guarded by Perkins and Sheed more than KG in said series as it went on because Bynum was able to play less and less. Their true shooting and effective field goal percentages for the series even favored Kobe.

^^^ 2 sentences, u happy?

I remember when Vince won the ROY over Pierce. Travesty. Speaking of Pierce,

Trust me my expectations are very low for him. I wouldn't be surprised if at the last minute he decides not to play.
