Barry Clock-Tower Reflects on Truck Series Experience, Sets Sights on ARCA Title in 2021
After getting a taste of NASCAR Truck Series competition with three starts in 2020, Barry Clock-Tower is more motivated than ever—but not for a full-time Truck move just yet. Instead, the young driver has set his focus on winning the 2021 ARCA Menards Series championship before Venturini Motorsports transitions to the Truck Series full-time in 2022.

Barry Clock-Tower on His Truck Series Experience:
"Man, running those three Truck races was an awesome experience. The level of competition is intense, and I learned a lot about how these races play out, how aggressive you need to be, and just how much every little detail matters. It definitely made me a better driver. But after getting that taste, I know I’m not done in ARCA yet—I want to go back and win that championship before I take the next step."

On His 2021 ARCA Title Hopes:
"I know that 2021 is my year to make it happen. The team is behind me, we’re bringing fast cars, and I’m more motivated than ever. Getting that first win at Lucas Oil Raceway showed me I can do it, and now it’s time to take that next step—winning more races, being consistent, and putting together a championship season.

With Venturini moving up to Trucks full-time in 2022, this is my last chance to win an ARCA title with them, and I want to be the driver that delivers it."

Clock-Tower’s commitment to finishing business in ARCA before advancing to Trucks showcases his determination and long-term mindset—a trait that could serve him well as he climbs the NASCAR ranks. With a full season ahead and momentum on his side, 2021 could be the year that Barry Clock-Tower cements his name as an ARCA champion.

Red Bull proposing a deal with Honda to enter the NASCAR Truck Series as a fourth manufacturer would be a huge move for both companies and the sport.

Potential Timeline for Honda's Entry:
2022 (Early Entry) – Honda joins with limited teams, possibly as a test program.
2023 (Full Entry) – Honda fully integrates into the Truck Series with multiple teams.

What Would Honda’s Truck Be?
- The most likely candidate would be the Honda Ridgeline, their only pickup truck.
- The Ridgeline isn’t a body-on-frame truck like Chevy, Ford, or Toyota, but NASCAR’s spec chassis means Honda could modify it for racing.
- Red Bull’s branding would bring major international attention to the series.

Potential Teams That Could Partner with Honda:
- Red Bull Racing Trucks – A new, factory-supported team.
- McAnally-Hilgemann Racing – A mid-tier team that might switch manufacturers for factory backing.
- Hattori Racing Enterprises – Already has Toyota ties but could switch if Honda offers better support.
- A brand-new team formed by an IndyCar or F1 crossover.

Why Would Honda & Red Bull Want This?
✅ Red Bull’s Brand Fits NASCAR's Growth Efforts – They love high-energy motorsports.
✅ Honda Expands Its American Racing Presence – They’re already in IndyCar, F1, and sports cars.
✅ NASCAR Gains a New Manufacturer – More competition = more interest.

How Would Other Manufacturers React?
Chevy, Ford, and Toyota would likely increase factory support to keep their teams competitive.
Toyota might lose smaller teams who could switch to Honda for better factory backing.
More manufacturer battles = More drama for fans!

Nascar has stated it will need a few weeks to deliberate on the option.

When asked about not winning driver of the year when he had the most wins all season, Brandon Blaze said “It is what it is, I like race winning trophies, and I’ll get plenty more of those” and left it at that.

Bobby Rey and Todd Gilliland on Front Row Motorsports' 2021 Truck Lineup

Bobby Rey (#00) – Front Row Motorsports:
"I couldn’t be more excited to officially be a part of Front Row Motorsports. This is a fresh start for me, and I’m ready to prove that I belong here. Last year, I felt like I was treated as an afterthought at Niece, and I won’t let that happen again. I know what I’m capable of, and with the support of this team, I think we can be a real contender this season. Todd’s been here for a while, and I’m looking forward to working with him and pushing each other to be better."

Todd Gilliland (#38) – Front Row Motorsports:
"It’s great to have Bobby join the team. Front Row is building something strong in the Truck Series, and having another competitive driver in the lineup is only going to help us both improve. We’ve raced against each other before, and I know he’s got the talent and the drive to make some noise. I’m looking forward to working together and getting some strong results for Front Row in 2021."

With both drivers locked in, Front Row Motorsports seems poised for a competitive season. Do you think Bobby can find success right away, or will it take some time for him to settle in?

Dubba Best and Derek Kraus on McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s 2021 Lineup

Dubba Best (#20) – McAnally-Hilgemann Racing:
"Joining McAnally-Hilgemann Racing is an exciting new chapter for me. I’ve been racing on dirt for a long time, but now I’m ready to take on the Truck Series full-time. The #20 Toyota is a great ride, and I know this team has what it takes to run up front. Derek has been with the team for a while now, so I’ll be leaning on him to help me get up to speed. I’m here to win, and I can’t wait to show what we can do in 2021."

Derek Kraus (#19) – McAnally-Hilgemann Racing:
"I’m excited to be back with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing for another year and to have Dubba as a teammate. He’s proven himself as a champion on dirt, and I know that talent is going to translate well to the trucks. We both want to compete for wins and push this team forward. It’s going to be a fun season, and I think we’re going to surprise some people."

With McAnally-Hilgemann Racing bringing in a proven dirt racer like Dubba Best, do you think they’ll be stronger on short tracks and dirt races in 2021?

Chris Southern Bids Farewell to the Truck Series
After a solid rookie campaign in the NASCAR Truck Series, Chris Southern has officially parted ways with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and is heading to Australia to pursue a career in Supercars.

Chris Southern:
"This past year in the Truck Series has been an incredible experience, and I’m beyond grateful to McAnally-Hilgemann Racing for giving me the opportunity. It was a dream come true to race at this level, and I learned so much along the way. The fans, the competition, and my team made it an unforgettable season. But now, I’m looking ahead to a new challenge in Supercars in Australia. I’ll always be a fan of this series, and who knows—maybe I’ll be back someday. Thanks to everyone who supported me!"

Southern made a name for himself as a road course specialist and put together a respectable rookie season. Do you think he’ll find success in Supercars, or could we see him back in NASCAR down the road?

Brett Moffitt Joins Niece Motorsports, Hocevar Stays, Blaze Uncertain

Brett Moffitt (#45) – Niece Motorsports:

"I’m excited to join Niece Motorsports and get behind the wheel of the #45 truck. This team has shown they can be competitive, and I’m here to help take them to the next level. I’ve got a lot to prove after how last season ended, and I can’t wait to get started."

Carson Hocevar (#42) – Niece Motorsports:
"It’s great to be back with Niece Motorsports for another year, and having a guy like Brett join the team is huge. He’s a former champ, and I know I’ll learn a lot from him. We’re here to win races, and I think we’re building something really strong for 2021."

Meanwhile, Brandon Blaze’s future remains uncertain. The five-time race winner from last season has yet to announce where—or if—he’ll be racing in 2021. Explore other opportunities? Or even take time away from the series?

Where do you think Blaze should go?

Friesen & Anderson Confirm Plans for 2021

Stewart Friesen (#52) – Halmar Friesen Racing:
"We’re staying the course in 2021. Halmar Friesen Racing has been my home, and we’ve built this team into a strong, competitive operation. We’re going into the new season focused on contending for wins and making a deep playoff run. Nothing changes—we’re here to race and race hard."

Jordan Anderson (#3) – Jordan Anderson Racing:
"I’ve always believed in building something from the ground up, and that’s exactly what we’re doing at Jordan Anderson Racing. We’ll continue as a single-truck team in 2021, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work we’ve put in to compete at this level. The goal remains the same—keep growing, keep improving, and keep fighting for strong finishes."

Both Friesen and Anderson are sticking with their respective operations as single-truck teams.

KBM Wipes 2020 Lineup, Announces Major Changes

Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) is shaking things up for the 2021 Truck Series season, completely overhauling its driver lineup:
- Chandler Smith (Rookie) will take over the #18 truck, replacing Christian Eckes.
- John Hunter Nemechek will drive the #4 truck, replacing Raphael Lessard.
- The #8 truck has no confirmed driver yet, leaving Arthur D’Tea without a ride.

This marks a drastic shift for KBM, as they look to rebuild their team with new talent. With Smith stepping into a full-time role and Nemechek returning to Trucks, KBM seems determined to get back to winning ways.

Kyle Busch Addresses Arthur D'Tea’s Departure from KBM
When asked about Arthur D'Tea’s unexpected departure despite a solid rookie season that saw him reach the Round of 8, Kyle Busch had a direct response:

"Arthur had a good season, no doubt, but at KBM, we have to make decisions based on what we believe gives us the best shot at winning championships. We’re bringing in Chandler Smith and John Hunter Nemechek because we feel they fit our vision moving forward. Arthur did his job, but we’re looking to reset and restructure our program. That’s the nature of this sport—nothing is guaranteed."

The decision has left many fans wondering if D'Tea will find another ride for 2021 or if he’ll have to sit out the season. Where do you think he should go next?
When pressed for details on who will replace Arthur D'Tea in the #8 truck, Kyle Busch refused to reveal any information, stating:

"We’ll announce our plans for the #8 when the time is right. Right now, our focus is on getting Chandler Smith and John Hunter Nemechek settled into their rides. We’ll let everyone know about the #8 when we’re ready."

This leaves speculation running wild—will KBM bring in another rookie, a veteran, or could we see a surprise return? Who do you think will land the ride?

ThorSport Racing has finalized its 2021 Truck Series lineup, retaining Johnny Sauter (#13), Matt Crafton (#88), and Ben Rhodes (#99, Ford) while making a major change—Arthur D'Tea will take over the #51 truck, replacing Zane Smith.

Arthur D'Tea:
"I’m incredibly thankful to ThorSport for believing in me. After my rookie season, I wasn’t sure what my future looked like, but landing with a championship-caliber team like this is a dream. I’m ready to prove myself in the #51 and fight for wins."

ThorSport Racing Statement:
"Arthur showed a lot of potential last season, and we believe he has what it takes to succeed at ThorSport. We’re excited to see what he can do in the #51 truck. We appreciated everything Zane brought to our team, and the door was open for him to return in 2021. However, he decided to explore other opportunities and did not sign a new contract with us. We respect his decision and wish him the best moving forward."

With this move, Zane Smith is now a free agent. Will he find another ride, or could he be on the move to another NASCAR series?

Team Statement:
"We believe in consistency, and this lineup gives us the best chance to keep building on our success. Logan Slayer proved he’s a championship-caliber driver, and we’re committed to helping him take that final step in 2021. Tyler and Barbie bring valuable experience and will continue to be key to our overall performance."

Hattori Racing Expands to Two Trucks, Signs Germain Loochhausen
Hattori Racing is expanding its Truck Series operation for 2021, adding a second full-time truck alongside Austin Hill (#16) by signing German DTM driver Germain Loochhausen to pilot the #21 truck.

Germain Loochhausen:
"This is an exciting new chapter in my career. Racing in NASCAR is a completely different challenge from DTM, but I’m eager to learn and compete at the highest level. I’m grateful to Hattori Racing for giving me this opportunity."

Austin Hill:
"Having a teammate will be a big help. I’ve been the only truck for Hattori for a while, so adding Germain will bring a fresh dynamic to the team. I’m looking forward to working with him."

With Hattori now fielding two competitive trucks, can they become a stronger force in the Truck Series?

NASCAR’s approve of Red Bull and Honda's initiative to join the Truck Series as a fourth manufacturer. This marks a massive shift in the landscape of the sport. This would bring even more excitement and competition to an already intense series.

Honda's intention to run a part-time testing schedule in 2022 while Red Bull Racing operates a customer team in 2021 using Ford engines is an interesting and strategic move. This approach would allow Honda to gather valuable data and understand the unique demands of NASCAR while Red Bull Racing stays involved in the competitive action immediately.

Detailed Breakdown of the Situation:

2021 – Red Bull Racing’s Customer Team

1) Red Bull Racing's Customer Team:
- In 2021, Red Bull Racing will field a customer team using Ford engines, which is a key part of the plan. This would allow Red Bull to stay in the Truck Series and use the Ford chassis while learning and adapting to the unique race conditions of NASCAR.

- The Ford engine will likely be supplied by Roush Yates Engines, which has been a major supplier in the Truck Series and would provide Red Bull with competitive powertrains while they’re working toward their full partnership with Honda in the future. Cars #70 & #71 will be used by the team for 2021.

2) Joint Sponsorship with Honda:
- Honda will provide financial backing and technical support, but Red Bull Racing will keep its existing Ford chassis and engine for the time being.

- This move would allow Honda to introduce its presence in NASCAR, building anticipation and a foundation for future years. The sponsorship will likely be high-profile, with Red Bull’s marketing muscle ensuring the team gets a lot of media attention.

2022 – Honda's Part-Time Testing Program

1) Testing Schedule for Honda:
- In 2022, Honda will enter a testing phase, running part-time to gather data and perfect their truck design and engine. This would give Honda an opportunity to refine its engine specifications and aero package while reducing risk ahead of their full entry in 2023.

- During this period, Honda teams may appear in select races, using the time to assess the performance of their trucks against established manufacturers like Ford, Chevy, and Toyota.

2) Development of Honda Trucks:
- Honda will likely focus on engine and chassis development through a limited number of races, possibly entering road courses or intermediate tracks to test the capabilities of their machines.

- Expect Honda-powered trucks to start slowly but steadily improve as the year progresses. Their engineering team will likely work closely with Red Bull's existing NASCAR infrastructure to ensure a smooth transition.

Strategic Goals

1) Honda's Long-Term Vision:
- The primary goal for Honda in the long term is to establish themselves as a full-fledged competitor in NASCAR, joining the ranks of Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet. They’ll use the time in 2021 and 2022 to perfect their engines and set up a team infrastructure.

2) Red Bull’s Role:
- Red Bull will continue to be a key partner for Honda, leveraging its brand and resources to help promote the initiative and make it a global success. The customer team will build momentum and showcase Honda’s strength before their official engine debut.

3) Fan Reaction:
- Fans of Red Bull Racing and Honda will be excited to see this strategic partnership unfold. The combined influence of Red Bull’s brand recognition and Honda’s technical expertise could attract more viewers and sponsorship deals, especially for races that feature both Honda-backed teams and drivers.

Expected Outcomes

1) Team Success:
- Red Bull Racing could potentially win races in 2021 with their customer team, depending on how well the Ford engine suits their needs. It’s unlikely they’ll be a major championship contender immediately, but they’ll be a force to watch.

2) Driver Development:
- This setup allows young drivers to grow within the Red Bull Racing program and possibly make a name for themselves in NASCAR. It could be the launchpad for a future full-fledged Red Bull Racing team with Honda trucks.

3) Honda's 2023 Full Entry:
- By the end of 2022, Honda will be fully prepared for their 2023 entry as an official manufacturer in NASCAR, with an engine ready for competition and a clearer understanding of the truck dynamics on various tracks.

Despite his dominant 2020 Truck Series season, where he secured five wins, Brandon Blaze has revealed that he has not yet been approached for any NASCAR Xfinity Series opportunities in 2021. However, that isn’t stopping him from expanding his racing portfolio—Blaze has officially announced that he will compete in the IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona, joining the #23 Heart of Racing Team in the GTD (GT Daytona) class.

Brandon Blaze on the Opportunity:
"I’d love to get a shot in Xfinity, but as of now, no teams have reached out. That said, I’m beyond excited to be part of the Heart of Racing Team for the Rolex 24. It’s an incredible event, and racing alongside drivers with this much endurance experience is a huge opportunity for me to learn and prove myself outside of NASCAR."
