With just five races left in the regular season, the season has season eight unique winners with seven of them at this moment in time seeming to have secured playoff berths in the Round of Ten:
- Juice Millar
- Tommy Bedlam
- Logan Slayer
- Sheldon Creed
- Kevin Magnussen
- Barbie Stellar
- Ben Rhodes

As it stand Brandon Blaze is outside the Top 20 (by just 16 points) and if he isn't able to make up the points and finish the season in the Top 20 his win will not be enough to advance him to the playoffs.

This means that as it stands the three highest driver in the regular season standings in the Truck Series would advance to the Round of Ten. At this time they are:
- Zane Smith
- Arthur D-Tea
- Stewart Friesen

However with two road courses, a dirt race, a short track and a trace at the tricky triangle it is very possible that we could get even more winners on the board. With three members of last year's Championship Four seeming to very much be locked in we are left wondering what this year's playoffs will look like.

Jamie Whincup Joins Kangaroo Racing, Completing Their NIS Lineup
In a massive announcement for the Nascar International Series (NIS), Kangaroo Racing has confirmed that Supercars legend Jamie Whincup will be their second driver, joining fellow Oceania talent Brendon Hartley in the BMW-powered team.

Whincup’s Transition to the NIS
Whincup, a seven-time Supercars champion and the all-time leader in wins in the Australian touring car series, will be making his first foray into NASCAR competition after his final season with Triple Eight Racing in Supercars. The move sees him trade the V8 Supercars paddock for a global stock car competition, making Kangaroo Racing’s lineup one of the most experienced and highly anticipated in the NIS.

Why Kangaroo Racing Chose Whincup
One of the Greatest Supercars Drivers Ever – With seven championships, four Bathurst 1000 victories, and 124 race wins, Whincup brings an unmatched pedigree to the NIS.
Stock Car Adaptability – His experience in touring car racing makes him well-suited for the NIS, where car control, racecraft, and managing aggressive racing styles are key.
Strong Oceania Representation – Kangaroo Racing is committed to Australian and New Zealand talent, and pairing Whincup with Hartley cements them as a truly elite lineup.
BMW Connection – Whincup’s past experience with BMW in endurance racing could give him an edge in helping develop the team’s new NIS program.

Whincup’s Thoughts on Joining Kangaroo Racing
In his official statement, Whincup spoke about his excitement for this new challenge:
"Leaving Supercars was never going to be the end of my racing career, and when Kangaroo Racing approached me about the NIS, it felt like the perfect next step. The series is shaping up to be something special, and with Brendon (Hartley) as my teammate, we’re bringing a serious level of experience to the table. I’m excited to be a part of this project and take on the world of NASCAR racing."

Kangaroo Racing’s Lineup: A Powerhouse of Experience
With Hartley and Whincup, Kangaroo Racing now has:
✅ A world-class endurance racer and former F1 driver (Hartley)
✅ One of the most decorated touring car champions in history (Whincup)
✅ BMW backing, ensuring they have a strong manufacturer partner
✅ An all-Oceania lineup, staying true to their identity as an Australian-owned team

What’s Next for Kangaroo Racing?
With their driver lineup complete, the focus will now shift to:

Testing and development with BMW to ensure they are competitive from the start.
Preparing for a global schedule, as the NIS will feature a mix of road courses, ovals, and street circuits.
Finding sponsorship partners to support the new team’s ambitious entry into international stock car racing.
NIS Continues to Gain Legitimacy
With major names like Whincup and Hartley now in the fold, the NIS is looking less like an experimental feeder series and more like a serious international championship. Their arrival only further fuels the debate on whether the NIS could eventually rival Xfinity in importance.

Now, the countdown is on to see how two of Oceania’s greatest racing talents adapt to the world of NASCAR!

Chris Southern on His Opening Rounds in Supercars
Reflecting on the first five rounds of his Supercars rookie season, Chris Southern sees steady progress and growing confidence behind the wheel of the Blanchard Racing Team Ford Mustang.

"It’s been a big learning curve, but I feel like we’re heading in the right direction. Bathurst was a challenge with tire wear, but by Sandown, I started getting comfortable in the car, especially in tricky wet conditions. Tasmania was a real breakthrough, being the fastest in our team and scoring a P4 finish. At The Bend, we showed we can fight with the bigger teams, and despite some setbacks, we kept bringing in solid points. Darwin was tough with the heat, but closing with a P6 finish proves we’re improving every round. The goal now is to keep building momentum, get into the fight for podiums, and make a real impact in the second half of the season."

With consistent top-10 finishes and a best result of P4, Southern has put himself on the radar as one of the most promising newcomers of 2021. As the season progresses, expectations will only rise for him and the Blanchard Racing Team.

Jeffrey Earnhardt Joins Richard Childress Racing for NIS in 2022
Jeffrey Earnhardt has officially announced that he will leave JD Motorsports at the end of the 2021 Xfinity Series season and will move to the Nascar International Series (NIS) with Richard Childress Racing (RCR).

Earnhardt’s Move to the NIS
After several seasons competing in the Xfinity Series, Earnhardt is making a major switch to international competition as part of RCR’s expansion into the NIS. This move marks a significant step in his career, as he looks to establish himself on a global NASCAR stage.

Why This Move Makes Sense for Earnhardt & RCR
A Fresh Start – Earnhardt has spent several years with JD Motorsports, a small-budget Xfinity team. Moving to RCR, a proven championship organization, will give him better resources and equipment.
RCR’s NIS Ambitions – Richard Childress Racing is a powerhouse in NASCAR, and entering the NIS with Chevrolet backing signals their commitment to making a strong impact in the new series.
International Exposure – Competing in the NIS will allow Earnhardt to race in new markets, with a global audience watching, potentially elevating his career.
Stock Car Experience – Unlike some NIS teams recruiting drivers from other disciplines, Earnhardt already has extensive oval and road racing experience, giving him an edge.

Jeffrey-Earnhardt-Talladega-625x340.jpg

Jeffrey Earnhardt’s Statement on the Move
"I’ve really enjoyed my time with JD Motorsports, and I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done for me. But when Richard Childress called with an opportunity to race in the NIS, I knew this was the next big step in my career. RCR is a team with championship pedigree, and I can’t wait to represent them as we take on this new challenge."

Richard Childress on Signing Earnhardt
"We see the International Series as an exciting expansion for NASCAR, and having a driver like Jeffrey, with his experience and dedication, makes this move even better. We’re excited about what we can build together in the NIS."

Bobby Rey Leaves Front Row Motorsports, Signs with Hendrick Motorsports for NIS
In a major shake-up, Bobby Rey will officially depart Front Row Motorsports after just one season and has signed with Hendrick Motorsports for the NASCAR International Series (NIS).

Rey’s Move to Hendrick Motorsports
Rey, who had been competing for Front Row Motorsports in the Truck Series, is making the jump to the global stage with one of the most prestigious teams in NASCAR history.

His decision to leave Front Row was bluntly addressed in his announcement statement, where he made it clear:
"You don’t turn down teams like Hendrick if you have an IQ over 100."

A statement that suggests he sees this as the clear best opportunity for his career and possibly a shot at elite-level success.

Why This Move Makes Sense for Rey & Hendrick Motorsports
Hendrick’s Winning Pedigree – With countless championships in NASCAR, Hendrick brings the resources and expertise that could make them immediate contenders in the NIS.
Rey’s Upside – Despite leaving Front Row after one year, Rey has shown flashes of strong potential, and Hendrick clearly sees something in him to invest in his future.
International Stage – With NASCAR expanding globally, Hendrick Motorsports wants to make a strong first impression, and signing an aggressive, talented driver like Rey is a statement of intent.

Hendrick Motorsports on Signing Rey a spokesperson for Hendrick stated:
"Bobby is a passionate, talented driver with a huge upside. We’re excited to bring him into the Hendrick family as we take on this new challenge in the International Series."

Gene Haas Signs Juan Pablo Montoya for NIS, Joins Dubba Best at Haas Racing
In a stunning move, Gene Haas has officially signed legendary racer Juan Pablo Montoya to compete in the NASCAR International Series (NIS), pairing him alongside six-time Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series champion Dubba Best.

Haas Frustrated After Truck Drivers Rejected His Offer
Haas had aggressively pursued multiple Truck Series stars, including Ben Rhodes, in an attempt to lure them to his NIS team. However, his offers were rejected, leading to frustration on his part.

Sources close to Haas indicate that he is growing impatient with younger drivers choosing to stay in NASCAR’s traditional series instead of jumping at his big-money offers.

Gene Haas: “If they don’t want my money, I’ll find people who do—and who have the pedigree to win anywhere.”

Montoya Joins the Project
Rather than continue his pursuit of Truck Series talent, Haas made a bold pivot, securing Juan Pablo Montoya, a driver with an incredible résumé across multiple disciplines, including:

✅ Formula 1 (7 career wins)
✅ IndyCar (2000 Indy 500 champion, 2015 Indy 500 winner)
✅ NASCAR Cup Series (2 career wins, including a road course victory at Sonoma)
✅ IMSA Sports Cars (2019 overall Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner)

A Dynamic Duo: Montoya & Dubba Best
With Montoya’s international experience and Dubba Best’s dominance in dirt racing, Haas Racing now has a driver pairing that blends global expertise with pure short-track skill.

Montoya expressed excitement about the challenge:
“I’ve raced in F1, IndyCar, sports cars, and NASCAR before, but this new series is an exciting challenge. I know Haas wants to win, and so do I.”

Dubba Best, meanwhile, welcomed the move:
“I grew up watching Montoya win in everything he touched. I’m pumped to learn from him, and I think we’re going to be a team people fear from day one.”

Haas Racing in the NIS – Now a Contender?
While Haas missed out on top NASCAR Truck Series talent, landing Montoya may have been an even bigger statement. With Haas Racing running BMW power, they are expected to be one of the strongest teams in the inaugural NIS season.

With Montoya and Dubba Best, Gene Haas might just get the last laugh.

Sheldon Creed Joins McLaren for NIS, Inspired by Racing Legends
In a major signing for McLaren, Sheldon Creed has officially joined the team for the NASCAR International Series (NIS), marking a significant shift in his career.

Creed Excited to Compete Against Legends
The 2020 NASCAR Truck Series champion admitted that the presence of legendary drivers like Juan Pablo Montoya, Clint Bowyer, and Jamie Whincup was a huge pull factor in his decision to join the series.

Sheldon Creed: “It’s not every day you get to compete against three absolute legends from different disciplines. Montoya’s won in F1, IndyCar, and NASCAR. Bowyer was one of the best personalities in Cup. Whincup is basically Supercars’ GOAT. This series is shaping up to be insanely competitive, and that’s why I wanted in.”

McLaren’s Ambition in NIS
Zak Brown and McLaren have been aggressive in their approach to the NIS, securing a Chevrolet-powered package and making strong pushes for top talent. Creed’s signing solidifies their intent to be championship contenders right away.

Brown spoke about Creed’s addition:
“Sheldon is a proven winner. He’s aggressive, fearless, and exactly the kind of driver we want representing McLaren in NASCAR’s international expansion.”

Creed's Move Signals NIS’s Growing Credibility
With big names like Montoya, Bowyer, Whincup, Dubba Best, and now Creed on board, the NASCAR International Series is proving to be far more than just an experimental project.

Tommy is seated behind the table in the press center at Gateway.

Tommy Bedlam: So, I wanted to go ahead and geahead of things. There has been a ton of talk over the last few weeks about what I'm going to be doing next year. A few weeks ago, I announced that I had respectfully turned down an offer to join Gene Haas in the NIS series. When I did that, I cited my loyalty to Chevrolet, who I've been with since my career started.

It's no secret that Ryan Reynolds and I are friends. He's a great guy, smart businessman, and a huge fan of our sport. He's got some plans to launch an Xfinity Series team next year, and yes, he asked me to be part of it. I did have to let Ryan know that I'm not going to be able to do that. We're still friends, we're still doing a lot of charity work together, but that's not my next step. Ultimately, for him to get that team up and running next season, he needs someone who can start working on things today. I'm fully committed to trying to win a Truck Series Championship with GMS Racing, and I'm not going to do anything to shift my focus from that mission.

The opportunity to drive for McLaren in the NIS Series is also no secret. They're going to have Chevy powering those vehicles, and I have no doubt that they're going to be fast. But agian, with it being a new team going into a new series, they need someone to start working in the sim and getting things ready today.

So with that, I'm announcing that next season, I will be leaving the Chevy camp, and that's a hard thing for me to say. Truly, I've loved getting to be part of Chevrolet's rich history in this sport, but I'm going to signing with Roger Penske to be part of his Xfinity Series team next season.

There are a couple people in the world of NASCAR who, if they call you, you drop everything to go work for them. Roger Penske is one of them. He's won at every type of racing he's ever been affiliated with. The systems are in place, the program is already elite, and i believe that it'll be a natural fit. I already have nothing but respect for Juice Millar, and I look forward to working with him and Austin next season.

Make no mistake about it; I'm 100% committed to GMS Racing in 2021. We've been fast all season, and I believe we can win a championship. I'm looking forward to the rest of this season, and I'm excited for the future. Thank you all.

Sonoma Raceway: Part One
12th June

150 Laps (Stage 1–2 40: laps; Stage 3: 70 laps)

The NASCAR Truck Series heads west to Wine Country for Round 12 at Sonoma Raceway, marking the first road course race of the season. With its tight turns, elevation changes, and technical corners, Sonoma presents a unique challenge for the field.

What to Expect at Sonoma
- Road Course Specialists in Focus: With a mix of road course ringers and oval regulars, this race could be a major shake-up for the championship.
- Tire Wear & Strategy: Sonoma’s high tire degradation means pit strategy will be crucial, and teams will need to balance aggression vs. tire conservation.
- First-Time Winner Potential: Road courses often present opportunities for surprise winners, and with the field still highly competitive, we could see a new driver lock into the playoffs.

Storylines Heading into Sonoma

Tommy Bedlam’s Future – Which Offer Will He Take?
With three offers on the table (McLaren in NIS, Penske in Xfinity, Ryan Reynolds' independent Xfinity team), Bedlam’s future remains uncertain. Analysts are divided on what’s best for his career.

International Series Talk Heating Up
With Hendrick signing Bobby Rey, Haas securing Montoya, and ThorSport confirming an Audi-powered entry, the NIS is starting to look like a major battleground for top talent.

Will Chaos Reign at Sonoma?
Road course races in the Truck Series often feature aggressive racing, late-race cautions, and unexpected strategy calls. Could we see a wild upset unfold?

Germain Loochhausen was visibly stunned when informed that his surprise win at Sonoma had officially locked him into the Truck Series playoffs. The German DTM driver, who was only in his first season of NASCAR competition, initially looked confused as he processed the information before breaking into a wide grin.

"I—uh—what? I didn't even think about the points situation," Loochhausen admitted, still catching his breath. "This is incredible! I mean, to win in NASCAR this early, on a road course, sure, that’s one thing, but playoffs? I—wow."

In his excitement, Loochhausen rambled about the journey that brought him to this moment, inadvertently revealing a major career decision: "This whole year has been a whirlwind. I mean, I just signed my deal with McLaren for the Barclays' NIS before the race, and now I win here? What is happening?"

His accidental reveal sent shockwaves through the garage. While there had been speculation about his future, the confirmation that he had inked a deal with McLaren for the International Series added another layer to his already eventful day.

When asked to clarify, Loochhausen chuckled. "I guess the cat’s out of the bag, huh? I wasn't planning to say anything just yet, but yeah, I'll be with McLaren in NIS next season. But right now—right now, I’m just soaking in this crazy moment."

With the unexpected victory and a guaranteed playoff berth, Loochhausen’s NASCAR journey just became even more interesting.

Brandon Sees Nothing But Red!!!

Brandon Blaze's #83 Cheez-It Niece Motorsports Chevrolet

After his heartbreaking exit from the race at Sonoma due to a collision with a lapped car, footage surfaced of Brandon Blaze sitting alone near his hauler, visibly emotional. The young driver, who had been fighting for the win before a suspension failure ended his day, was seen wiping away tears in frustration.

However, the mood shifted dramatically when Blaze realized he was being filmed without his knowledge. In an instant, his sadness turned into pure anger. The footage captured him getting up abruptly and storming toward the cameraman before shoving them backward, knocking them to the ground.

Security and team members quickly intervened, separating Blaze from the situation. The incident has already sparked heated discussions online, with some fans defending Blaze's frustration, while others criticized his aggressive reaction. NASCAR and Niece Motorsports have yet to comment on whether any disciplinary action will be taken.

NASCAR officials wasted no time in responding to Brandon Blaze’s outburst at Sonoma, coming down with one of the harshest penalties in recent Truck Series history. Following his physical altercation with a cameraman, Blaze has been handed a six-race suspension, effectively ending any chance he had of making the playoffs.

In an official statement, NASCAR cited "conduct detrimental to the sport" as the reason for the penalty, emphasizing that physical altercations with media personnel would not be tolerated. Niece Motorsports has yet to announce a replacement driver for Blaze during his suspension, but this development likely marks a devastating end to his 2021 championship hopes.

Blaze has not yet made a public statement, but sources close to the driver indicate he is furious over the decision and feels he is being unfairly targeted by NASCAR. Fans are also split on the ruling, with some believing the punishment is too severe, while others argue that it was necessary to send a message.

Brandon Blaze took to social media in a fiery rant, blaming Niece Motorsports for his struggles and declaring that his time in the NASCAR Truck Series is officially over. In a series of tweets, Blaze vented his frustration, making it clear that he will serve his six-race suspension but has "zero intention" of ever racing in the Truck Series again.

Brandon Blaze (@BlazingFast83)

Tweet 1:
"I’ve had enough. This team has been a joke all year, and I’ve been carrying them on my back. NASCAR wants to kill my career, but I’ve got bigger things ahead."

Tweet 2:
"I’m DONE with the Truck Series. It’s a clown show where politics matter more than talent. I’ll sit my suspension, but I WILL NOT be driving for Niece again. Not now, not ever."

Tweet 3:
"I gave everything to that team, and what do I get? A garbage truck, bad strategy, and teammates who race me harder than the competition. Pathetic."

Tweet 4:
"It’s funny how some guys can get away with anything, but the second I show emotion, I get banned six races. If I wasn’t already leaving, this would be my last straw."

Tweet 5:
"Whatever. Looking forward to 2022 with Chip Ganassi Racing in the NIS. Real teams, real racing, real respect. No more babysitting underfunded operations."

Tweet 6:
"And to the ‘fans’ saying I should apologize – I don’t regret a thing. When you’re the only one putting in 100%, you’re allowed to be mad when things fall apart. See y’all next year."

BREAKING: Niece Motorsports Shuts Down Amid Brandon Blaze Controversy

In a shocking turn of events, Niece Motorsports has officially withdrawn from the NASCAR Truck Series, effective immediately. The decision comes in the wake of Brandon Blaze’s six-race suspension and public outburst, which sparked immense backlash and uncertainty surrounding the team’s future.

Al Niece, team owner, released a statement:
"This is not the way we wanted things to end. The events of the past few days have put us in an impossible situation, and unfortunately, we can no longer continue operations largely due to all out sponsors pulling their money and bankrupting us in a matter of hours. We deeply regret having to shut down, especially for our hardworking crew and our drivers Brett Moffitt and Carson Hocevar, who have done nothing wrong and now find themselves without a ride. I sincerely apologize to them and to everyone who supported Niece Motorsports."

Impact of Niece Motorsports’ Closure
- Moffitt and Hocevar left without rides – With Niece’s immediate exit, both Brett Moffitt (#45) and Carson Hocevar (#42) have been left without a truck for the remainder of the season. It remains to be seen if another team will pick them up.

- Blaze’s Fallout Continues – Although Blaze had already stated he would not race in the Truck Series again, his outburst and actions have now cost multiple drivers and crew members their jobs.

- Truck Series Grid Shrinks – The loss of Niece Motorsports means two fewer full-time trucks on the grid for the rest of 2021, further shaking up the competitive landscape.

- Future of Personnel Uncertain – Niece’s crew members and staff are now scrambling to find new roles, with many expected to look for opportunities in Xfinity, Cup, or even the NIS.

With one of the biggest collapses in recent Truck Series history, the sport is now left picking up the pieces as the aftermath of Blaze’s controversy continues to ripple across the paddock.

NASCAR Confirms Availability of Niece Motorsports' Spots for 2022

In the wake of Niece Motorsports’ sudden closure, NASCAR has officially announced that the charters for the #83 and #45 trucks will be made available for purchase, pending approval from NASCAR Governance.

Additionally, the #42 truck will not be reassigned, ensuring that the 2022 Truck Series grid remains at 26 teams, as planned.

Key Takeaways from NASCAR’s Decision:
✅ #83 & #45 Available for Purchase – Teams looking to expand or new organizations wanting to enter the Truck Series can apply to acquire these spots. NASCAR will evaluate all bids to ensure stability and competitiveness in the series.

✅ #42 Removed from Competition – With the Truck Series locked at 26 entries for 2022, the removal of the #42 truck confirms that Niece’s closure will not result in an extra team filling its place.

✅ Potential Interest from Other Teams – Speculation is already swirling about which teams might step up to claim the available spots, with some Xfinity or ARCA teams rumored to be exploring expansion into Trucks.

What’s Next?
- NASCAR is expected to open formal applications for these spots soon, with governance officials ensuring the new owners align with the series' long-term goals.

- Driver market shake-up – With Moffitt, Hocevar, and others now without rides, many teams could see an opportunity to sign talented free agents.

- Expect more announcements in the coming weeks, as teams finalize their 2022 lineups and NASCAR decides who will secure these vacant spots.

Brett Moffitt Declares "Blood Feud" on Brandon Blaze
The fallout from Brandon Blaze’s meltdown and Niece Motorsports’ sudden closure has taken a deeply personal turn, with Brett Moffitt publicly declaring a "blood feud" against Blaze for what he calls an unforgivable betrayal.

In a fiery post on social media, Moffitt didn’t hold back, stating:
"This isn't just about me losing a ride. Blaze didn't just screw me—he screwed my team, my crew, and my family. He burned the house down on his way out, and for that, there's no coming back. This is a blood feud now."

Moffitt’s Anger Stems From:
- Personal & Financial Fallout – With Niece shutting down, Moffitt has no ride for the rest of the season, impacting his career and income.

- Team Collapse – He placed Blaze’s reckless actions at the center of Niece Motorsports' closure, leaving multiple crew members jobless.

- Betrayal of Trust – Moffitt emphasized that Blaze knew the damage he would cause, but still walked away, burning bridges as he did so.

What’s Next?
- Moffitt’s next move – With the Truck Series now off-limits for Blaze, the two won’t face each other on track in the near future. But Moffitt could look to settle the score in the NIS or beyond.

- More fallout? – Given the strong emotions involved, it’s unlikely this feud dies down anytime soon. Could we see more drivers take Moffitt’s side against Blaze?

One thing’s for sure: this rivalry just became the hottest grudge in NASCAR.

Tommy Bedlam Joins Team Penske for 2022 Xfinity Series Season
After an impressive run in the Truck Series, Tommy Bedlam has officially been announced as the new driver of the #22 Team Penske Ford in the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, replacing Austin Cindric, who is moving up to the Cup Series.

Penske’s Next Star in Xfinity
Team Penske made it clear that Bedlam will be their primary focus in the Xfinity Series. While Bedlam already has five career wins in the Truck Series, Penske is committed to developing him into a future championship contender at the Xfinity level.

"Tommy is an incredibly talented driver, and we believe he has the potential to grow into something special. The move to Xfinity is a big step, but we’re fully prepared to build around him and ensure he has the right equipment to compete at the front." – Team Penske Statement

Expectations for 2022 & Beyond
While 2022 is expected to be a development year, Team Penske has high ambitions for Bedlam. The team is focused on building a car that can win on select weekends and gathering crucial data to perfect their setup for 2023, when they expect Bedlam to be a true title contender.
