Mysterio Pulled from more Events

There has been speculation about why Rey Mysterio is really out. The story has been that Rey is out with a bad case of the flu. He missed last night's RAW but officials expect him back for next week's show to team with Sin Cara against Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes in the finals of the tag team tournament.

In an update, Dave Meltzer reports that Rey is battling more than just a slight flu that has been mentioned by WWE. Word is that Mysterio is dealing with a really bad stomach virus that has kept him in the bed.

Rey Mysterio has been pulled from this week's SmackDown Tour in Cairo, Egypt due to his recent illness. The illness has prevented Mysterio from competing since last week's episode of Raw. Ted DiBiase Jr. will fill in for Mysterio

Keep calling an illness I call it an injury. Do you think WWE is trying to cover up an injury or do you believe the story that he's had an illness for the past week?


I feel like it's probably them covering it up. It may only be a minor injury but damn it's pretty obvious that he has to be severely protected. And as great as him teaming up with Sin Cara is for Merchandise thats not the guy to have him in a tag match with the goal of protecting anyone.

And I don't see how a tag team doesn't protect him more than being a singles star. I know Sin Cara has had his own mishaps but if he starts short tag matches on Raw and SD! that can only protect Rey more. It's better than having Rey speak every week in some random feud because the build for anything with Rey doing mostly talking would be awful.

Protect him from what exactly? Pretty sure people would understand if he can't go because of an injury. The dude's how old? His knees are just ridiculous, it wouldn't surprise me if he actually was sick.

I wouldnt be surprised if he is the second top merch pusher. Masks are a must for any kid and he's huge in mexico/Cali and such. Thats the reason I'm guessing.

Relax Jesse Ventura. I doubt there is a shooter on the grassy knoll here. Rey's sick, it's autumn. He's probably at home resting and boning his wife.

Just have Ricardo dress in Mysterio's clothes and mask, come out, wrestle kinda like him, and the WWE will never explain why Rey got fat for a few weeks, lmao.. JR and Cole won't even mention it in passing or anything. The real Rey will come back when he's healthy and get skinny again, overnight.

I mean hell, they did this with the Ultimate Warrior and Texas Tornado for 6 weeks back in the late '80s. Warrior tore his bicep, and Texas Tornado (Kerry Von Erich) had a similar build, just smaller, so they put him in a singlet, painted him up and just didn't have him speak live for 6 weeks at house shows, and on a few tapings of Superstars. (didn't mean to thread hijack here, sorry )

^Actually, they did try that with fake Sin Cara, and it didn't fly. Not to mention Mysterio has distinctive tattoos all over his body.
