It was more that at first (and I'm not sure why), i was thinking the new scum team wouldn't know they were scum until that moment just like how the fake scum team thought they were real scum lol

But once I realized that logically, they probably knew they were teamed the whole time it was better lol

If you read through the role PMs, it was sort of half-and-half.

Doink knew who his teammates were but didn't know their roles.
PHEN0M thought he was scum anyway.
Pendex and Junk were playing as town.

And then the tradeoff was that if Doink died at any point, the team would no longer be able to communicate with each other outside of the game thread.

This game was probably one of the more confusing things I've ever had to read through, and I write layered, metaphorical poetry so that's saying something.

Honestly, that was the mechanic I debated the most.

I think the reason I went away from it in the end was that I felt like if they knew from the jump, it would basically just be a multi-scum game, which wasn't what I was going for. But if I'd given it more time, I probably would've come back around to them knowing initially.

I thought i was red scum, had no idea about Hush aligned until it happened

I think my only issue with the secret alignment thing was as the cop which is why I made sure Peter told me whether or not Jeff was cleared to me so he told me he was the town alignment.

That sort of reared its head with the janitor shot as well.

If it had succeeded, I would've PMed the result directly to PHEN0M rather than posting it in a scum QT. But that became less meaningful if PHEN0M didn't know at the time that he was actually a whole different alignment. But then I wanted to maintain some semblance of the communication piece but thought that running messages back and forth between Hush without a QT would be too tedious. That element definitely needed more time in the oven.

For any flips that changed retrospectively, they were going to be unveiled in the game thread, so it seemed consistent to have your result adapt the same way.
