Eh, I'd only really consider myself a HUGE mark of HHH and Ziggler. I'm just anti-smarks right now because they piss me off. And I really don't like Rollins that much, though I see the appeal. Mostly a booking thing, he has become stale for me with his little posse of goons. Him w/ a title reign winning matches via jerkoff security interference every month sounds boring as shit.
I agree the security schtick is played out at this point

+ no ME bulge. I don't think he is destined for greatness.

Dude needs a face turn. I realize he has done well in this role but I'm still not crazy about him as a heel. Then he goes out and wrestles like a face, but then he cheats... bleh. Just not crazy about the guy's booking atm like I said. He turns face and goes HAM as fuck full blown I'd be on board a bit more. I will say I like him more than Ambrose, to randomly bring up a shield member comparison. w/ Rollins I see the appeal, with Ambrose I really do not. He wrestles in jeans, does weird shit with his tongue and can't cut promos in the WWE. zzzzzz

It's funny. I've heard people make comparisons between Ambrose and SCSA. I can kind of see it, but Austin was on another level. I think's it's more of the Ambrose fans who want him to end up as popular as Austin was. Good luck guys.

People want Ambrose to be some "don't give a shit fight anyone anti-authority" type, but beyond that he has literally nothing in common with SCSA. Ambrose had a good character in the Indys from what I understand, but it hasn't translated well to WWE at all. He really hasn't found much in the way of his WWE-character to my eyes... it all seems forced, like he is trying to recapture the indy magic but just not happening.

Reigns >>>> Rollins >>>>> Ambrose

I'm really starting to get a bad feeling about all of this. How long before people like Ziggler who have been over longer then DB start getting tired of always hearing the YES chant and start to hate Bryan for it. This could cause a lot of problems in the locker room which could lead to either Bryan leaving or a mass exodus of others.

As I hear it, morale is already pretty low among the superstars due to a lot of the booking issues and promos being written.

That's kind of a weird thing to fear. I doubt people started hating Austin just because they got sick of the WHAT chant, which continued on even long after Austin had left.

Yeah, I haven't been liking that comparison, because I don't find it to be a very good one. Both the Rock and Austin were not really being pushed as faces or tweeners when their popularity began to grow. WWE can say what they like, but I was at King of the Ring 1996 and save for a few of us, the crowd was not particularly happy when he made the Austin 3:16 speech. Hell, if you go back and watch the 1997 Royal Rumble again, Austin got absolutely no response when he came to the ring and very little more when he won. Rocky Maivia was the most aggravating character and all they could do was make him a heel because he was hated so much. But contrary to the current position of a lot of people, the characters that got popular were more in spite of what WWF was trying to do than because of it. Ambrose, on the other hand has been deliberately pushed in the sort of face who acts like a heel/tweener mode. So, to make a long post short, I agree with what you said 100% percent.

I regards to this triple threat, I am on the fence about it. I am a bigger fan of Daniel Bryan than I am of Roman Reigns, but I really don't like the idea of WWE caving in to the fans two years in a row. Last year, it worked. If they do it this year they establish two things that will work against them:

1. A pattern will convince the fans that WWE is more apt to cave into them and fans' expectation of having this happen more often will rise. That being said, when WWE does not cave in the future, they will have a much angrier fanbase on their hands than they have now.

2. They're also weakening Daniel Bryan's character by implying he cannot get into the main event unless he is helped into it.

Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble and there is absolutely no reason that the main event at Wrestlemania should be anything other than a singles match with Reigns vs Lesnar. Personally, I would love it if Rollins cashed in and won the belt afterwards, because of all the possible wrestlers involved, he is the one I like the most. But that's neither here nor there.

The day after the Rumble, WWE did an excellent job pushing the Reigns vs Lesnar match. It would be idiotic to toss all of that to the side.

So much more I actually want to write. I wonder if should write an article about this one.

The lads on here saying Bryan should not be given another WM moment are in denial. Lets not pretend, we are all nerds, an Bryan shows us we can make it, at the end of the day.

You dont have to try and be cool, we are not cool, we are the anti-cool.

I remember that Royal Rumble. I would've been.......14 I think. I remember being like "who is this guy again?" when he won and gave that infamous speech. And an ultra popular, if not slightly christian-esque catchphrase, was born.

Steve Austin was sort of a gloating point for me. I was a HUGE fan of his in WCW when he had television title, US title and tag titles with Brian Pillman (one of my favorite teams ever, the Hollywood Blondes). I used to tell everyone how he would eventually be one of the biggest names in wrestling and all my friends thought I was crazy. The caveat, however, was that I predicted the "Stunning" Steve character would be one of the greatest heels of all time, so I really wasn't right but my friends all remember it as if I were.

But yeah, he really only started gaining popularity because of Bret Hart's gradual heel turn. Even Hart's ring entrance at Wrestlemania 13 (another event I had the pleasure of attending) was far louder than Austin's. But even before that Rumble, if you go back and watch the crowd response for Austin on the PPVS and RAW, they're pretty quiet.
