XXV: “ALL TO PLAY FOR.”
Live from Odessa Theatre in Odessa, Ukraine.
Thursday 12th January, 2023.

Operniy-5.jpg

FIRST MATCH - 1/20
Celestia Ravenwood vs. Dan LuPone vs. Jackson Fenix.
Triple Threat Match - #1 Contender Match for the FWA World Tag Team Championships
Match Writer: Jimmy.

After The Connection prevailed in the Mile High Massacre match on Fallout 024 to retain their FWA World Tag Team Championships, their next challengers to face them at Back in Town will be determined in the opening contest of Meltdown XXV in Odessa. In a twist from the norm, the next challengers will be determined in singles competition, with a representative from three of the teams that challenged for the titles in Sziget stepping forward to earn the right to face The Connection again on behalf of their team. Celestia Ravenwood (of The Coven), Dan LuPone (of The Lumberjacks) and Jackson Fenix (of The Undisputed Alliance) will do battle in a match that each of their partners will assuredly have a vested interest in. Whether these competitors will be going into the match at full capacity remains to be seen after the gruelling affair that was Mile High Massacre.

SECOND MATCH - 1/30
Chris Peacock vs. Phillip A. Jackson.
Singles Match - F1 Climaxxx (Pool B).
Match Writer: Man.

This show is being billed as ‘all to play for’, and it is true when it comes to Pool B of the F1 Climaxx competition. There is one spot up for grabs in the Final Four from Pool B and any of Chris Peacock, Lizzie Rose and Cyrus Truth have the ability to take it. Peacock will round out his pool stage against the former FWA Television Champion, Jackson, coming off of two losses in a row to pool leader Bryan Baxter and Lizzie Rose. Although it is not all doom and gloom for the Golden Opportunity holder due to his fledgling tag team with Alyster Black running away victorious on Fallout 024. Peacock will hope to turn his singles luck around against PAJ, who is currently propping up Pool B and has a rampant Shawn Summers to think about, too.

violet.png

THIRD MATCH - 1/20
Reagan Cole vs. MDC.
Singles Match
Match Writer: Man.

Finally giving into the demands of Jeffry Mason and TYLER to join them did not bring Reagan Cole in-ring success against XYZ on Fallout 024 in what was a close affair. Cole has the chance to clear some red from his win/loss record on Meltdown when he takes on MDC, a man who has failed thus far to get his FWA career off the ground. Cole would be foolish to underestimate this opponent, though.

violet.png

FOURTH MATCH - 1/30
Gerald Grayson vs. Lizzie Rose.
Singles Match - F1 Climaxxx (Pool B).
Match Writer: SS.

As already noted, Lizzie Rose is still in contention to qualify from Pool B in the F1 Climaxxx, although to do so she will need to hope that both Cyrus Truth and Chris Peacock falter in their respective match-ups. The former North American Champion will take on one half of the FWA World Tag Team Champions, Gerald Grayson in Odessa. Grayson’s own chances of advancing have passed, however he could look to finish strongly with a victory over Rose to go with his win alongside Michelle von Horrowitz in Mike High Massacre. Regardless, with two agile competitors going at it on Meltdown, it is sure to be a riveting watch for those in attendance.

FIFTH MATCH - MAIN EVENT - 1/30
Bryan Baxter vs. Cyrus Truth.
Singles Match - F1 Climaxxx (Pool B).
Match Writer: Dubb.

Upon seeing the field in Pool B, few expected Bryan Baxter to be sitting at the top of the pile with an unblemished record heading into the final round of matches, and picking up the North American Championship along the way. Baxter has arguably his toughest match against ‘The Exile’ Cyrus Truth to round things off, with the winner topping Pool B and the loser meeting Alyster Black in the Final Four. Cyrus has the chance to shut out both Chris Peacock and Lizzie Rose with a victory and perhaps also make an argument for a future shot at Baxter’s championship should be so desire. Baxter will need to rely on the guile of Bill Scorpane to overcome this threat and also block out any possible distractions arising from his tense relationship with Jeremy Best.

025: “SIEMPRE.”

Live from Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

Saturday 14th January, 2023.

bl1590660328702.jpg
FIRST MATCH - 1/20.
Bellatrix Bordeaux vs. Shawn Summers.
Singles Match.
Match Writer: Jimmy King.

Shawn Summers finds himself opening Fallout once again in Istanbul, after prevailing over Jason Randall on Fallout 024. However it seemed that ‘The Wildcard’ was not satisfied with how the situation was left and has found himself involved in the growing issues arising between Summers and the FWA Television Champion, Vampyra. There is another woman that ‘Der Bastard’ will have to be wary of in his first match in 2023 though and her name is Bellatrix Bordeaux, another of the recent wave of intriguing new talent arriving in the FWA. Bordeaux certainly made an impact in an aired vignette on Fallout 024, where she attacked a member of the production crew. Whether she can channel this aggression against the baddest man in the FWA remains to be seen.

navy.png

SECOND MATCH - 1/30
Kayden Knox vs. Vampyra.
Singles Match - F1 Climaxxx (Pool A)
Match Writer: Dubb.

Kayden Knox shockingly turned on his Bad Reputation partner Gabrielle at the onset of the Mile High Massacre match for the FWA World Tag Team Championships and his heinous assault on ‘The Goddess’ has ruled Gabrielle out of action indefinitely. As such, Knox has been controversially named as Gabrielle’s replacement for her scheduled final match in the F1 Climaxxx against the Television Champion, Vampyra. Vampyra is mathematically unable to advance from the group and Knox’s chances are slim also, but this is a chance for both competitors to pick up an important momentum-building victory. Vampyra will of course need to have eyes in the back of her head because of the threat posed to her by Shawn Summers.

navy.png

THIRD MATCH - 1/60
Ratin Mikichin vs. Steve the Techno Vampire.
Singles Match.
Match Writer: Man.

Much to the chagrin of Jean-Luc Watkins and likely many others, the rivalry between Ratin Mikichin and Steve the Techno Vampire will rage on in Istanbul. After trading and sharing wins with a failed tag team endeavour to boot, things are still at a stalemate between the goofball pairing and matters could finally be settled on Fallout 025.

navy.png

FOURTH MATCH - 1/20
Luna Piper vs. Jin-ho.
Singles Match.
Match Writer: Oz.

Istanbul will be treated to a rare singles match appearance for Luna Piper. The devious DJ will be taking on another musically-inclined member of the roster in Jin-ho of the PONI BOI group.

navy.png

FIFTH MATCH - 1/30
Michelle von Horrowitz vs. Tommy Bedlam.
Singles Match - F1 Climaxxx (Pool A).
Match Writer: SS.

Pool A of the F1 Climaxxx has already been topped by Alyster Black, but who will be joining him in the Final Four to face the victor of Pool B is as yet undetermined and this match between Michelle von Horrowitz (2nd) and Tommy Bedlam (3rd) will help decide who will advance with Black. MvH is coming off of a grand victory in Mile High Massacre, but the toll that match took on her is as yet unknown. Tommy has proven that he can hang with the best that the FWA has to offer in this tournament and he has the chance to cap it off with a huge upset against the former two-time FWA World Champion

navy.png

SIXTH MATCH - 1/20
Darius Wright vs. Jason Randall.
Singles Match.
Match Writer: Jimmy.

Both Jason Randall and Darius Wright competed on Fallout 024, but with mixed fortunes. Wright convincingly put away The Boulder whilst Randall fell to Shawn Summers. The dominant performance of Wright will have assuredly caused his stock to rise and he has the chance to build upon that win against a more established star in Randall. Randall on the other hand, seems to be less than content to allow Summers to escape him despite falling to him and also has one eye on the Television Championship currently held by Vampyra.

navy.png

SEVENTH MATCH - MAIN EVENT - -/–
Alyster Black (c) vs. Devin Golden
Winter Wasteland Match for the FWA World Championship.
Match Writer: TGO.

The Winter Wasteland match will make its debut in the FWA on Fallout 025, but in actuality it is a combination of two match types that hardcore FWA fans will be familiar with; the Triple Cage Match and the lethal Taipei Death Match. The winner of this nightmare will be able to call themselves the FWA World Champion.

The idea to merge two of the most dangerous match types in history came from the mind of the challenger, ‘The Rotten Gold’ Devin Golden. Golden initially propositioned the FWA World Champion Alyster Black with one final chapter in their epic rivalry spanning almost two years by placing his legendary career on the line. Devin then decided to up the ante and make what could be his last match one that might actually kill him and the man known for his dominance over the X Championship scene for over 400 days was glad to accept.

Black of course has the F1 Climaxxx to think about as well, and thankfully does not have a Pool A match to consume his time, so his full focus can be on ending the career of Golden and keeping his World Championship reign intact at the same time.

Whatever happens, it is going to be brutal. It is going to be gory. It is definitely going to be memorable.

The deadlines for both shows is:

Sunday 8th January, 2023 at 23:59 Pacific Time.
Monday 9th January, 2023 at 03:00(am) Eastern.
Monday 9th January, 2023 at 08:00(am) UK.
Monday 9th January, 2023 at 11:00(am) Turkey.

Two things:

One: Do we have guarantee that we WON'T get blown up being in an active war-zone in Eastern Ukraine?

Two: How many changes are going to happen in Pool A? Is my match suddenly going to change into a Sixty second Ironman match with Joe Burr?

Well, here goes something, I guess, lol.

Jon Russnow and the UN believe that war-torn Ukrainians deserve the joy of pro wrestling as much as anyone. Kofi Annan has promised swift retribution against Putin if he breaks the cease-fire for the show, in a letter co-signed by Andrei Shevchenko and Vitally Klitschko. In a press conference whilst announcing this, Mr. Russnow again pledged the FWA's support for the Ukrainian people, and couldn't resist taking a swipe at Noah Hanson and the CWA for their ties to Moscow.

@Dubble J
The opening scene of your promo had me immediately hooked. I was not expecting any of that to happen. Normally I would say that the big revelation in the opening act felt rushed but the way that you flushed it out in the following parts satisfied me enough as a reader to be like there's a reason why that character came out and asked that question. I've never seen X-Files and I'm not sure if this is a spoof of one of the episodes or not but I truly mean this when I say that this was one of the most exciting pieces of writing that I have ever seen in efedding. I normally get bored and start skimming when reading but I read every single word of this promo. The way that you had the cases align with the characters of the fed was terrific and then you threw in some foreshadowing of upcoming cases was just a thing of beauty.

Your dialogue was also so smooth and realistic. I encourage the fed members to see how natural that dialogue in this promo was. It will greatly help you all out if you struggle with that.

The way you tied the whole thing back to your opponent (Cyrus Truth) and were able to tie so many elements of his character to the character portraying him in the promo was done in a way that it didn't feel forced. Cyrus is going to have a tough hill to climb to combat what you put out because you did an amazing job here.

I'm trying to think of anything that I can say for you to improve on but this was such a good promo I can't think of anything. If you haven't had the chance to read this you are truly cheating yourself out of some gripping writing. 40/40 in my book.

@Tiger Princess

I believe that you said that you would go a slightly different route with your promo than you normally do for this one and I think that can be a good thing. I can admit that it can get boring writing the same/similar-themed promos. I thought you did an excellent job of describing the agony and disappointment that Vampyra (Vamp) was experiencing after losing to MVH and still dealing with the attack from Summers. I did feel like there were many short choppy sentences that could have been combined together instead - but that could just be a style difference between you and me. I noticed throughout the promo that you had included many details that I felt didn't really help push the narrative further or add to the scene setting.

I liked what you did with incorporating the "death" of Gabby at the hands of Kayden into the promo and how you wrapped everything up with the character that was supposed to be Kayden. I thought it was a nice touch to really hit your opponent while also still telling the story that you wanted to tell.

You do a great job of showcasing the importance of the relationships that Vampyra has with her friends in every promo that I have read from you. Too many times we see characters that are just loners and have no one to confide in when they are at their lowest of lows or to celebrate with when they are at their highest. You could tell that her friend was deeply impacted by the loss of Vampyra at the funeral. That was a good showcase of pathos.

Although I'm a big fan of how you portray the relationships between Vampyra and her friends I find myself not impressed with the dialogue presented between them. It doesn't feel real. The characters are just giving monologues with little to no emotion shown throughout it and that's just not how people talk in the real world. They narrow their eyes when they are making a stinging point at someone. They may pace around while talking to show that they are thinking or confuse the person they are talking to or do other small things that are important to convey their message. I would tell you to kind of take a look at SS' previous promos and even the most recent one from Dubb. I find looking at how my favorite authors add in details in the books I read a good place to look when I'm writing dialogue.

I didn't realize that Vampyra was supposed to be 21 years old. This literally has no impact on your promo or anything like that it's just a pet peeve of mine that I've seen for ears in the efed world - where they'll have this really young wrestler (pretty much anyone under 25) that's had such an accomplished career prior to coming to the fed. It just doesn't read well to me because it's kind of an anomaly. I would bet that almost 90% of 21-year-olds aren't excelling at the careers they choose at the same level as those who've been in the industry a little longer. Tie in the fact that most 21-year-olds are extremely immature and lack the critical thinking skills that you have provided for the character of Vampyra. I personally think it's a disservice to the character to have her that young but that's just my opinion.

I think the last time that I read a Chris Peacock promo he was depressed and going to a wedding that his brother was catering. It's been a while and I wanted to see what he had been up to since then. The way you write this character is so good because I genuinely couldn't help but think that he was a sleazy dude that I wouldn't want to be around. Him at the bar in the promo and then beating on the DJ booth just gave me the "ick". That sounds bad but that's actually a good thing because it's hard as fuck to get people to have any feelings about a character and you do that so well.

From what I'm getting after reading this promo, Chris Peacock seems kind of like a Sami Zayn-style comedy heel. He's got these comedic moments in him but as a competitor, he's still dangerous and shouldn't be underestimated at all.

I really enjoyed that you explored the dangers of unprotected sex in your promo because STDs are real! I also liked how the section divider"dick" kept getting redder as the promo progressed. That was a nice little touch. I feel like the itch and burning were supposed to be a metaphor for Peacock getting that itch and burning desire back to get the world title after "cumming" second again? If that's the metaphor you were going for then it was good. I just didn't understand the ending doctor's scene. It seemed kind of like things went left there. The dialogue at points was kind of iffy to me as well. It seemed like how the dialogue is in British comedies where it doesn't seem natural to us Americans but it is hilarious to the people in the UK. So it may just be a cultural thing. Idk.

I liked that you added in pieces about PAJ into the promo but it seemed like they were kind of just thrown in there to hit that match relevancy tick on the grading scale (is that still part of our grades, idk). It didn't seem like Peacock thinking about PAJ and seeing him as a threat really fit with the rest of the promo.

Appreciate the comments dude.

Peacock is a dick, but he knows he is and he doesn’t try to hide it so the fact that he just owns it now actually makes him more likeable for me.

I thought the second doctor being from a past time and his methods not being acceptable anymore was a pretty obvious allegory for PAJ, but maybe not. Also the ending was just for laughs, as the doctor vehemently against STDs was about to catch one from the same woman that Chris did, so a bit of extra karma for him.

I always have fun reading your promos. I love the way you write for Jackson Fenix. You've really mastered treating Jackson Fenix and Nate Savage as completely separate characters who have their own lives outside of one another. That's a major strength that I think sometimes is lost when people write for a tag team. You also have done a great job creating lore for Jackson Fenix that follows him throughout promos (his beef with Big Bird and his having a big dick). I love good callbacks to previous promos like that. It gives your character character if that makes sense.

My only gripe with your promos is that I always want you to flesh them out just a little bit more. That's a selfish request on my part because I genuinely enjoy reading your characters and the shit they get into. I'm rooting for you to get the "W" in this match though because I'm a supporter of the Nasty Alliance ;)

@WelshyBOI

I'll start by saying that I enjoyed the Spongebob references throughout the promo. It felt as though they were being used to reference a secondary story/conflict that you are wanting to get into in the future. The Bellatrix character seems very childlike and kind of gives me Sabrina from Pokemon vibes (if you've never seen those two Pokemon episodes where we meet Sabrina, I encourage you to check them out). It adds a certain amount of intrigue to the character seeing how her focus could not be broken until she was drenched. It had me wondering what was up with her.

I really enjoyed how you wrote the interaction between her and her brother - who it is obvious is concerned and cares about her. I just really wish that you would have gone harder on Shawn Summers. Shawn's such a dick of a character and I think that he plays the perfect villain to faces. There is so much that you can shit on Shawn about that would score you some major points - he's got a terrible win/loss record; he has no one that cares about him anymore; he sees himself as a big star in the FWA but he can't hang with them when the time comes; he cares what people think about him and it's very obvious just based on that temper tantrum he threw for weeks after losing the TV Championship. If you really break Shawn Summers the character down you'll realize he's only a threat because he says he's a threat. In reality, he's a shit person and an even shittier wrestler who can't finish.

Good introduction to the character of Bellatrix though with the promo. I'll be reading more from you in the future.

Good introduction to the character of Bellatrix though with the promo. I'll be reading more from you in the future.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, this is my first time writing for Bret and Bellatrix that isn't as part of a team with @Patriot Pants, so It'll take me some time to get used to it. The SpongeBob references were just a device to A: Highlight a little bit of her childlike nature, along with sitting on the floor to watch the TV because I've seen my niece do it etc, lol. and B. It was just a way that I could introduce Trixie's tendency to zone out and wander off into daydreams, since it's a concept that I plan on exploring more in the future and shall attempt to use to further stories once the character is a little more entrenched in the Fed. If you wanna know more about the origin of why Trixie tends to drift off, I've explained the backstory of it in her sign-up.

As far as not going hard on Shawn Summers, I felt like once Trixie found out that Shawn attacked Vampyra, I could've gone the route of a character assassination, but Trixie is such an oblivious person when it comes to most things that she genuinely wouldn't know who Shawn Summers is. Like, in AMA, Trixie had her first match while thinking she was literally a "Hitwoman" because that was the only way her brother could get her to listen to him. Like, she's fucking clueless :lmao. I could have had Bret go in on Shawn Summers more, but Bret was so concerned about his sister's safety above everything else, that he just went on a rant about the situation she's gonna find herself in, in what will be her first singles match EVER, only her third professional wrestling match EVER, and her opponent is still an experienced, former champion who will pretty much do anything to win, so I had Bret highlight more the threat of Shawn, since that's what Bret would be worried about due to his concern for his sister. I probably could've gotten a bit more out of that scene, but I had very little time to myself on Sunday and so I had to get the promo out Saturday, lol.

I appreciate the feedback!

BTW, having read your promo...congrats on the win! ;)

Also, a bit rude having Shawn kill a representation of Bret in front of a representation of Trixie, lol, but I enjoyed it. It amazes me how so many people in this Fed can think of things like writing WW1 war stories and somehow tie them into the story of a wrestling match...like I said on Discord, it's a level of thinking that I can only hope to achieve. Big props, and again, congrats on the win.
