Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide Discussion Thread

Dreams are Endless
From this week's Observer :lol

When Konnan was in Miami for the AEW angle with Santana & Ortiz, they did a backstage segment for TripleMania that aired over the weekend on AAA television. Konnan was affiliated with Andrade while Kenny Omega was there with Don Callis. The key points were that Omega & Callis demanded Tirantes (actually El Hijo del Tirantes, the heel referee) to be the referee for Omega vs. Andrade. There was a lot of byplay with Callis and Konnan that was funny, including Konnan calling Callis the Invisible Handjob, and Callis telling Andrade that Konnan is going to leech off him like he does all the wrestlers in Mexico, and Konnan saying that’s what you are doing with Omega. When it was over Omega got mad because he thought Konnan was his friend, but then did an inside line that like almost nobody in Mexico is getting and that is that there must be something wrong with Konnan because he’s friends with Disco Inferno

Cain Velasquez has said he will return to AAA in December.

Appearing on In This Corner with Cyrus Fees, Velasquez also said that he wanted to develop himself further as a wrestler.

“Actually, I’m doing a show in December for AAA,” he said. “So for me, I love AAA and I’m going to keep doing that right now. I love WWE as well, but I have to first develop myself in that way in order for me to go out there.”

A former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Velasquez started wrestling back in 2019, wrestling twice for AAA, with the most high profile match being a trios match teaming with Cody Rhodes and Psycho Clown in a winning effort against El Texano Jr., Taurus, and Killer (now Karrion) Kross.

Velasquez signed with WWE later that year and lost to Brock Lesnar in a quick match at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in October. The following month, he teamed with Humberto Carrillo to defeat Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows at a house show event in Mexico, his last match to date. He was released from WWE in April of 2020 due to cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?
He's good friends with Konnan who is the head booker so I'm not surprised he's back.

Konnan a few weeks ago said there is no way you can watch AAA in America right now, not sure if that’s case with the PPV. Last year it streamed free online.

Yeah it's always something weird with that company. I forget what year but they legit didn't have a damn card for TripleMania until a few days before. I wonder if using a VPN and changing location would give access somehow.
