Interesting take as AAA was never "traditional" lucha libre. I'd be willing to be that the idea of taking a "traditional" lucha base and adding sports entertainment is what resulted in current AAA, and made it a damn sight better watch than it was before the takeover (which was going the opposite direction, adding lucha trappings to a distorted sports entertainment). And they did it by accident.
