ROH Unforgettable - International Dream Partner Match: Samoa Joe & Low Ki vs. Kenta Kobashi & Homicide
They truly do drop ALL storylines here. Ki and Homicide are stablemates, but for this match they basically pretend the Rottweilers don't exist. It's kind of odd because Joe & Kobashi earning each other's respect and going after the evil Rottweilers is such a traditional booking move. IT WOULD BE KINDA STUPID NOT TO DO IT, GOOD ONE GABE. The first half was a little off but in the second portion it really kicked into higher gear and ended up being an absolute CLASSIC. Some of the Ki/Kobashi exchanges were magic. This match lacked the atmosphere that Kobashi's match from the night before had in the first half of the match. It picked up considerably and everyone certainly beat everyone else up, but that finish was anticlimactic. This barely edges out the tag title match from Manhattan Mayhem as the best tag team match in ROH so far this year, You’ll notice that Homicide won the match for his team because he was the junior guy best equipped to take out the big man on the opposing team. Ki looks great in the loss and everyone in the match had a character arc. ****1/2
