AJ Styles vs. Kazuchika Okada - NJPW G1 Climax 24: Day 1
Pretty much on the same level of their previous two matches, which were of a pretty high standard. Some really nice and fluid sequences throughout the match, with the highlight being Okada's reversal of the Styles Clash into a Tombstone, which was just awesome. The lack of interference's also helped a lot, with only one taking place, and it didn't even last very long either. I still think there's more to see from these two together, but this was still a really good match. 8/10

WWF SummerSlam 1992 - WWF Intercontinental Championship: Bret Hart (c) vs The British Bulldog (with Lennox Lewis)

Bulldog's pop for his entrance was GODLY :mark: We start with a stare down and each guy pushing the other followed by our first lock up. Bulldog easily pushes Hart back with his power. A nice quick exchanges ends with Bulldog hitting a shoulder block that knocks Hart all the way outside the ring. Back in the ring, Hart takes down Bulldog with a side headlock. Bulldog gets out of it and goes for a military press, but Hart comes back with some quick roll-ups for two counts, then locks the side headlock in again. Bulldog escapes with a hammerlock, and works over Hart's arm for a little bit, until Hart catches him with an elbow to the face, and then starts working on Bulldog's arm. Bulldog flips out of it nicely to take down Bret by his arm now. This chain wrestling has been really nice so far. Back to a quick exchange now, and Bulldog catches Hart in a leapfrog and catapults him into the corner nicely. The crowd is so hot as Bulldog gets a two count with a crucifix pin. Hart ends up back up and hits a sick kitchen sink to some nice heat from the crowd. Hart has control now, ending a quick Bulldog comeback with a back elbow. Hart hits an inverted atomic drop and McMahon calls it a reverse piledriver :lmao Bulldog goes for a crucifix pin again, but Hart reverses it by just slamming him back :mark: The crowd tries to get Bulldog back into the match, and it works as he hits a nice inverted monkey flip on Hart off the rebound. Hart catches him with his feet in the corner though, and almost takes Bulldog's head off. Hart hits a running bulldog on Bulldog 8D then goes up top, but Bulldog catches him and throws him off. Bulldog goes up top now, jumps 3/4 of the way across the ring, but Hart moves out of the way. Bulldog ends up outside of the ring after a reversal from Hart. The crowd boos Hart like crazy now, SEE BRITS ARE SO BIASED! Hart goes outside the ring with a crossbody, then slams Bulldog back first into the ring post before throwing him back into the ring. Hart continues to work over the lower back of Bulldog now, hitting a Russian Legsweep that McMahon calls a neckbreaker. Hart hits a great back body drop off the rebound for a two count to stay in control. Bulldog finally gets something going again with a backslide, but Hart kicks out and stays right in control with a backbreaker. Hart hits his diving elbow, but Bulldog still kicks out at two. Hart's playing the heel so perfectly here, pulling Bulldog's hair now, probably losing a dread in the process. Hart locks on a sleeper now and within a half of second McMahon has called the match. Bulldog gets the the ropes, and the ref counts to 4 three times before Hart lets go :lmao I didn't know that was the rule. Hart then locks on another sleeper this time and we see Diana Hart-Smith looking worried. The ref starts checking Bulldog's arm now, but he gets it up before it drops three times, then lifts Hart up on his back and slams him into the corner to break the hold, but Hart just locks it right back on. Bulldog slams him into the corner now, and this time Hart's hurt. They start exchanging punches now, then Bulldog goes for a military press slam, but he couldn't hold on and Hart just hits the ropes and gets all tangled up :mark: I know that was botched, but it worked pretty well. Bulldog hits a few clotheslines now for a two count, and he's in control now. He hits a successful military press slam this time, then his patented stalling suplex which he holds for like 6 seconds before dropping, but this still only gets a two count and the crowd eats it up. Bulldog sends him sternum first into the corner, but once again only gets a two count. Bulldog signals for the end now and gets a huge pop from the crowd. He goes for his running powerslam now, and hits it but Hart kicks out at two again :mark: Bulldog can't believe it at all as Bret has rolled onto the apron now. Bulldog goes to suplex him back in, but Hart ends up behind Bulldog and hits a German Suplex with a bridge :mark: That only gets a two count though, so Hart goes for another suplex, but Bulldog reverses it and sets him on the top rope. Bulldog goes up and hits a top rope superplex, but Hart kicks out again :mark: Hart sends Bulldog to the ropes, and they end up clotheslining each other and both men are down. Hart then locks on the Sharpshooter from his back :mark: I LOVE WHEN HE DOES THAT! Bulldog is able to get to the ropes to break it up, and Heenan says if Diana doesn't like this match then she should be home doing dishes or washing clothes :lmao Hart gets sent to the ropes, and goes for a sunset flip, but Bulldog drops down instead and covers him for the win and HOLY FUCKING SHIT THAT POP WAS LEGENDARY :mark: Really good match, solid technical stuff by Hart for sure, who played a great heel in front of these biased Brits.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV, Episode #50: Frankie Kazarian v.s Chris Sabin.

The Future v.s The Future, is what this was billed as. It was non-tile but Sabin does have the X-Title. This match was pretty damn great, just wasn't as crisp as I'd like at most points but the progression was tremendous. The escalation of the spots and signature moves followed almost gracefully if it wasn't for some sloppy exchanges. Still, this was X-Division action at it's finest. It also didn't have a lame ass unrelated run-in just gettin' in the way. Kazarian got this chance to prove himself against the champ because he was impressive in two straight random 6-man tags. I know it makes total sense, Regardless though, Sabin beatdown Kazarian and kept him down for a good while before Kazarian made a babyface comeback of sorts with a couple cool moves and some stalls by Sabin all while havin' some awesome nearfalls. Sometimes TNA can go overboard quite easily and totally expose the business in these matches but it didn't get to that point. Quality X-Division stuff.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #51: Raven's Clockwork House of Fun Match, Shane Douglas v.s CM Punk.

The action that took place was alright but really felt like it meant like nuthin'. Punk was in control of the match and had a few, close nearfalls late that actually made it look like Shane was the good guy fightin' the odds, I swear. It was just Punk being in control of most of this match the entire pace fell through the cracks. This being CM Punk of 2003, you gotta take into account some sloppiness too. After takin' a pretty good beatin' Douglas hits his belly-to-belly suplex and just wins with little to no effort. I mean with everything he got to kick out from it would have made sense for Punk to be able to have some fighting power of his own but naw.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #51: NWA-TNA Tag Team Titles, David Young & Sonny Siaki v.s America's Most Wanted.

America's Most Wanted just won the titles the week prior and this was just to show off how great of champions they are, pretty much. I didn't see anything special about this. It was very uncoordinated, everybody seemed to be hittin' moves awkwardly. I just felt watchin' this that America's Most Wanted were still developin' their skills and it's easier to hide that workin' with the likes of Low Ki, Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper. Here even with David Young they were totally vulnerable and looked like they were a step behind the other team as far as basics go. So after a beat down session on James Storm that wasn't anything special we get a tag and a bunch of nearfalls that didn't even seem warranted. Had last second break ups and the match didn't even feel like they earned them. This is the case of doin' too much with no reason to do anything. Hell, you know like any god damn Dragon Gate match? Okay, okay it wasn't to that level but the flow here didn't work. Then the sudden finish where AMW just looked like they were head and shoulders above the other team killed it even more. Still, it showed the tag division in some positive light and that there is competition to be had even if the current champions don't look to me like they deserve the belts in outings like this.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #51: Russian Chain Match, Justin Credible v.s Jerry Lynn.

This shouldn't be a labeled anything more than a chain match because a Russian didn't make the challenge but hey I ain't TNA. This was a quite brutal sprint. They beat the hell of each other the entire time and it actually felt like Lynn was extractin' revenge. Also you know when it mattered if you took advantage of Lynn, too. His veteran angles got out-played over time. They both used the chain well and both looked like they knew how to use the chain uniquely and not just simple, forgettable spots like most chain matches are full of. When they did do normal things they did their best to make it look damagin'. All in all this was a fun, little brawl with two guys that have good chemistry with each other. It should have bit a longer and it seems this feud is gonna keep goin' as Credible attacks Lynn after not being able to keep up with him another match.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #51: Hard 10 Tournament Finals, New Jack v.s Sandman.

Nothing really happens here until the end. They pretty much do just weapon shots as they get their way to the perch and then Sandman knocks New Jack off the perch through a table that they didn't even set up. FUCK THAT! Seriously? What a lazy match. This isn't how you end a tournament. Uninspired trash. Only givin' it a 1/4* because the table spot at the end was sick.

Booker T VS. Kurt Angle WWE Smackdown 11/06/05

These two nearly always had good matches, the two different styles just mixed really well, and at this point both were at the top of their games and giving it their all week in and week out. This match given a good amount of time, so they were able to build a strong back and fourth match, with believeable counter wrestling, and near falls. Angle was doing his sinister heel character, and played it perfectly here (also in the post-match face off with Taz). Booker's selling and timing of the come backs was some of his fineist work, and the finish made sense too. A thrilling television match between two of my favourties of the time.

WCW Halloween Havoc 1992 - Coal Miner's Glove Match: Jake Roberts vs Sting

So this is an unsanctioned match...but there's something on a pole so yeah. The rules of this are that there aren't any and there's a coal miner's glove on the pole which is loaded, so if you get it then you can use it as a weapon. Roberts goes for the glove before anything, but Sting stops him and hits a couple scoop slams for his trouble. Sting goes for the glove now, but Roberts stops him. Roberts takes control, but Sting catches him off the rebound with a punch. They keep it slow now as Roberts locks on a side headlock. Sting fights out of it, but misses a dropkick, then goes to work on Sting's back. Roberts throws him over the top rope onto the concrete now, but then Sting ends up sending Roberts into the steel post. For some reason Sting goes around the ring, slides in, then slides right back out to slam Roberts into the post some more. Sting goes for the glove now, bu the pole is extremely fucking high, so Roberts is able to stop him, and they're both down. This pole is literally like 10 or 12 feet taller than the turnbuckle. Sting is in control now, working the arm. Roberts ends up hiptossing Sting over the top rope this time, but he lands on the apron. Roberts goes for the glove again, but Sting SLOWLY slides him down to crotch him and Roberts falls back even more slowly. Sting again goes for the arm some more. Roberts takes Sting outside again now, and hits Sting across the back with a chair before rolling him back in. Roberts chokes Sting with his wrist tape now, and the ref stops him for some reason even though it's no disqualifications. Roberts goes for a knee, and I guess Sting tripped him or something, but both men are down now. Sting misses a Stinger Splash, then Roberts hits his short-arm clothesline. He signals for the DDT now, and hits it. Sting stops Roberts from climbing again from the apron, then runs and swings around the pole like a BOSS :mark: He takes out Roberts, but Cactus Jack runs out and throws Roberts a bag with the tiniest snake ever in it. Roberts gets the snake out as Sting gets the glove. Sting hits Roberts in the back with the glove and this makes the snake bite Roberts's face, and Sting pins him for three. FUCK THIS MATCH! That was real bad, and it was doomed from the start with the gimmick.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #52: Kid Kash v.s Jerry Lynn.

I was expectin' something worthwhile here but not even close. We opened with some average, back and forth mat wrestling to show how even they are. They progress this out into counters into actual moves which would have worked nicely if anything looked crisp. You'd think two of the more experienced guys in the X-Division would gel better than this. Then a good majority of the match is interference by Abyss with him pretty much just takin' bumps from Lynn. Out of nowhere Lynn's nemesis Just Credible shows up and costs him the match. Flat out lackluster based on the talent.

NWA-TNA Weekly PPV #52: NWA World Title Match, D-Lo Brown v.s A.J. Styles.

Felt like they were fightin' for a midcard title, really. The action wasn't bad at all though. It progressed quite well and D-Lo got his chance to look like he's gonna win but could have been way better if it had more time to develop. At one point A.J. Styles goes for a crazy dive and ends up landin' on his feet. It was incredible. Of course, we had to have some lame ass interference for A.J. to retain the gold. Killed the momentum of the match and took away what could have been a really, fun match for your supposed "World" title.

Shelton Benjamin(c) VS. Muhammad Hassan WWE 14/06/05

So this was is booked by Stone Cold because of Hassan's complaint that he was screwed out of winning the title in his previous match with Benjamin, so the rematch is on with Austin at ringside. It is a pretty solid opener, with a tidy flow, but a few scrappy moments mostly from the challenger. They could have gotten a bit longer, but for a TV match this was fine, and the ending with Austin causing the DQ makes sense with the storyline of Hassan remaining underfeated while retaining heel heat.

Chris Masters VS. Sgt Slaughter WWE Raw 14/06/05

Part of Master's Masterlock challenge. More of an angle than match. Slaughter plays his part well, but I always find these angle/matches quite lame, and don't really see Slaughter as a big enough name to make that much difference to a rookie. DUD!
