F4W said:
- Kurt Angle revealed in an interview with F4WOnline.com Thursday that he plans to hang up the boots for good in three years.
“I’ve got two more years left at Impact Wrestling and then I’m going to have a retirement year and that’s going to be it. I think I’ll be done and once I retire, you’re not going to see me back in a ring again, that’s for sure,†said the 44-year-old grappler. “I’m not going to be a guy that retires and keeps coming back. When I’m gone, I’m gone. Same thing as amateur wrestling; when I won the world championships in Olympics, I left and I never went back. Same for pro.â€

Be interesting to see if he sticks with this plan. I am amazed that he is still planning on wrestling for that much longer considering all the issues he has had. I am actually surprised that he is that old as well, didn't think that he was 44. I wonder what he means by a Retirement year since he made it clear to differentiate between that and Impact Wrestling. Will he try to go back for one last WWE run during that retirement year?

Could have swore he kept trying out for Olympic teams.....

Haha so true, he was trying to get back for the London Olympics but when he realised that he wasn't going to even come close to making the team he stopped. The thing with Angle is is you can never really take him on his word so we will see if he sticks to this plan.

I would love to know exactly what he means by retirement year because he specifically pointed out that it wasn't with Impact Wrestling. Maybe for his retirement year we will see him fighting an MMA match, heading back to amatuer wrestling for another tilt at that before trying to have one last match in WWE?

I'm sure I've heard him say before that he'd like to return to WWE before he is done, so I'm assuming that's what he means.... I just wonder if they would take him back at that age and after being away and with TNA for so many years. And, if they did take him back would they allow the type of run I'm sure he would be expecting...

I could see him looking at trying to get into the WWE to finish off his career.

I see him trying for at least on more match in WWE although I don't know if he will be given that chance. I can actually see him trying for one match in ROH as well as he likes that style of wrestling.

During his closing run in TNA I see them running the usual wrestling angle where he goes for the World title one last time before he retires. Kind of like what Sting does every year but Sting always ends up returning.

Depending on what happens with TNA & King Mo, I could see TNA using Angle to give him the rub. 3 years is a long time for Mo to rise through the rankings, and be the one to end Angles final TNA title run.

Then some indy stints just to hit as many cities as he can, before signing with WWE around Rumble season, to be inducted in the same year he "retires".

Interesting idea with using Angle to help King Mo, hard to tell what will happen and if King Mo will even make it but I can definitely see Angle being involved with King Mo in some form when King Mo is used in TNA. With Bellator being owned by SpikeTV as well I can see them offering Angle an MMA fight with them if he does eventually want to do it.

Angle should stay away from non-scripted matches, its been 16 years since he did anything of the sort. Also, Bellator could screw themselves by even allowing him in the cage.

King Mo I can see as TNA's next Angle, but at the same time I am also expecting TNA to do something right for once, and there is no guarentee that Mo will even stick it out in wrestling.

I'd love to see Angle back in the WWE for one last year, and a big retirement match at a future Mania. It'd be great to see him put over somebody from The Shield or Cody Rhodes or Damien Sandow. I'd love to see a Sandow vs Angle feud, as I think it'd be great ringwise but even more entertaining storyline wise.

I do hope he is serious about not being a "Foley" or "Flair" and repeatedly coming back every other month to get some tv time.

Angle says a lot of things.

My guess is he'll still be whoring himself out like Flair when he's 60, while still saying he's going to the UFC.

I think he thinks taht movie he did with Tom Hardy counts as legit MMA experience.

I believe the retirement year will be touring with Indy's around the country as the billed star facing their top guy and drawing crowds and cash. That's my guess.
