Ladies and Gentlemen, I hope you're enjoying the break from your WPC competition - we are now a little over a week away from our predictors getting back into competive action with our very
first ever WPC Supershow! This event will include match predictions for both NXT30 and WWE Summerslam but, more importantly will see both the World Prediction Championship defended in Champion vs the World action (in what is number one of only 3 remaining Champion vs the World title defenses).
We will also see the much anticipated Semi-Finals of the WrestlingSmarks/WPC King of the Ring event take place....
If you're interested in checking out how our Champion has performed so far then you can see a full breakdown of their success, and failures, by clicking the "WPC Title History" link in the table above my head.
Then, when you're done with strategising on how you're going to beat our champion and take his title, what we're going to do below is take a look at how the competitors in our King of the Ring Semi-Final 1 Match stack up against each other.
Take a look at the numbers and lets talk through what we see.
As we can see, both participants are WPC veterans, appearing at all 8 WPC events so far and both have equal records in NXT predictions.... but the Reigning World Prediction Champion, who will be pulling double duty at our Supershow, has a superior record in WWE events for a winning pct of 0.517 vs 0.414 which may give him the advantage here.
Blaze has proven to be able to perform on the grandest stage and is the only person to have held the World Prediction Championship twice, BUT has only managed a Vs record of one win and one draw so far. Of course, Blaze qualified for the semi-finals from the most decorated portion of the bracket - After battling to a draw with Doom in round 1 Blaze eliminated both Lady Hotrod and Doom in Round 2 to reach the Semi-Finals. Lady Hotrod eliminated the most successful World Prediction Champion of all time, OMB, in Round 1before falling to Blaze and Doom being the individual that ended Blazes first World Championship reign back in May.
Currently ranked number 12 in the World compared to Blazes number 8,
God may well be considered the underdog here. However, God has been the underdog since entering the tournament as the 16th seed and since then has put together a perfect record in Vs competition. After eliminating the tournaments number one seed, Jimmy King, in round one, God then went on to out-perform Grim and the then-reigning World Prediction Champion, Davey Wrestling, in round 2 to give himself a perfect 2-0-0 record in Vs competition.
So there we have it ladies and gentlemen, will the most decorated WPC competitor so far add a King of the Ring finals appearance to his growing resume, or will the underdog that turns on the style when the pressure is on walk out the victor?
Let us know your thoughts below and remember, you can use the new
WPC Hub thread to catch up with the latest World Prediction Championship news and put forwards your thoughts and suggestions on improving our competition.
The Event Centre will return on Friday with a look at the competitors in our second King of the Ring Semi-Final.
