I wont shit on the dude, and i can understand the potential frustration of finally reaching the top n never getting a real run. But man, tk didnt shut down roh or originally book him to be champ nor did he have to book him over bandido. Different visions are frustrating but with no tv deal atm, this feels like a potental over reaction. Hope hes alright

Gresham's entrance and the match itself felt off. So I noticed quickly that something was up. Not surprise that there ended up being drama behind it all.

The guy is very much talented in the ring. Deserves all of the praise that he has gotten and even more so for all that he did for ROH. That's all he has though. Him being next to Claudio really exposed his size though and I can ignore the size difference up to a certain point. When a guy is 5'4 and the other is 6'5 (my height by the way) and the taller guy is known for his strength....

I can see Gresham's side and Tony does need to improve on communication. This isn't the first time and probably wont be the last with Tony. Love AEW but I am being fair because it seems to be a consistent issue with him. Would have liked for Gresham to stick around for the Pure Division.

It’s hard to speculate which came first the chicken or the egg, but I think it was a little weird how out of nowhere the title match with Claudio was and it feels like Claudio winning is a case of Tony’s new toy.

Don’t get me wrong I like Tony and I also enjoy Cesaro, but crowing him seems like a chance for Tony to say we at least put a belt on him rather than build to it and make it make sense. Meanwhile Gresham was the pin holding old ROH together. At least they finally signed the Briscoes, but I get why he’d be mad if they told him Cesaro is going over in his re-debut with Ring of Honor. Where does he go?

I feel like based on previous comments, this was always the plan as soon as he hired Claudio. He mentioned that he spoke to Bryan and he had Claudio already signed. I feel it was always going to happen but Gresham has been booked poorly.

Oh yeah I remember him saying Claudio debuting against Gresham was originally the plan but he decided to move his debut forward when Bryan got hurt, they said he's been signed for a bit already at that press conference

Gresham wasnt really holdimg anything down thougb Smark, the company died under him and he didnt really draw. I love Gresham n rate him high, but theres a reason tge whole arena was screaming for Claudio n Gresham came out to murmurs in AEW. I agree TK has to promote him better, 100%. But hes also trying to sell a product to tv atm, n yea, Claudio is a much more attractive package as your ace. Fucking sucks fkr Gresham no doubt but he could also ykno...go put on a clinic n show everyone why tk is wrong. But he didnt last night

Either way, hope they work it out and cooler heads prevail. With him deleting everything it sounds like hes not in a great place so hope he comes back better n stronger when hes ready.

I agree and that’s my point.

Gresham I feel acted out in frustration that Claudio got hired and was immediately booked to dethrone him. He probably wouldn’t have been as upset if asked to drop the belt to someone from ROH last year, but this shows in his mind how little Tony thinks he can build a brand on him to have to bring in an “outsider” for lack of a better for it.

That’s what I’m saying. I don’t feel he got frustrated at Tony until he was told Claudio is going over. And maybe even with the match itself. The tag team match has build and stakes. His match felt like a throwaway weekly television title defense.
