Jimmy Hart weighs in on rumors of Hulk Hogan returning to WWE - baltimoresun.com
I don't know why Jimmy thinks Hogan has 1 or more matches left in him, when everyone knows Hogan's back is fucked after multiple surgeries over the past few years and if he were to wrestle again, he'd probably be crippled.
During a one-on-one phone interview with Ring Posts to promote WWE's latest DVD release "History of WWE: 50 Years of Sports Entertainment" (which comes out Nov. 19), former WWE legend and current brand ambassador Jimmy Hart, who is personal friends with Hulk Hogan and has worked with him on several business projects, weighed in on the rumors circulating that Hulk Hogan may once again appear in WWE:
"Hogan knew I was doing this press tour with WWE promoting the DVD," Hart said from Mobile, Ala., on Wednesday. "He told me to say exactly this: Hulk Hogan will be at WrestleMania if he has to buy a ticket and sit at ringside.
"I think he can step into the ring one more time. We have a school in Florida, and he stepped into the ring there and did some stuff, and he looked great. As his friend, I'd be the first one to say, 'Listen Hulk, do us a favor, just go out to the ring to Real American, say OK Brother, rip the shirt, do the pose, sign a bunch of autographs and people will still be just as happy,' ... but he does have a couple of good matches left in him, he really does. I've got my fingers crossed we see something at WrestleMania."
When asked about an opponent for hogan, Hart pointed directly at one name -- the face of WWE.
"At Hogan's Beach a couple months ago we had a Q&A, and I asked the audience, who would everyone like to see Hogan face in WWE, and the answer overwhelmingly was John Cena. I think that would be a great match. John Cena is so classy, this kid is so good. I would like to manage him, but he doesn't need a manager. He reminds me so much of Hulk in a lot of different ways."
In a past interview with the now-defunct Aftermath Radio, Hulk Hogan told the program that he had originally been slated to return to WWE for another match at WrestleMania 25 against John Cena, but his lingering back injury and the apparatus used to try and alleviate his pain not working as hoped prevented him from participating.
