Fucker can afford his own rehab. He doesn’t need TK to pay for it. As a reformed addict myself I have zero sympathy for him at this point. So many chances and making so many people look like dummies.

He wouldn't go lmao there is no rehab if it's not company based and idk if it's even covered by AEW, shit probably coming out of his check that he's being suspended from lol

if you're an addict yourself you should learn empathy and realize everyone's demons are different and people relapse literally every day. I'm not condoning his actions, but yeah, some of you need to get off your high horse . no pun intended of course.

Option A - send Jeff to rehab and take off TV for months

Option B - fire him and not have to worry about it, MLW signs him for Battle Riot next month and if he isn't in jail by then he shows up and is hopefully sober

Most likely scenarios IMO. Def easier to just fire, solves nothing tho
easier doesn't equal the right, human thing though. not that you're disagreeing here

Yeah you're not allowed to recognize shit like that as profit from what I'm aware so his pay amount would have to be "used" for something technically but I'm sure in most cases there's loopholes if it's not convering some sort of costs, this would be more theoretically

Yeah fair point

I can see that as well

And I’ve been around a ton of people in my life that have done this same song and dance and many that have done that same as I have and conquered it. It’s just frustrating for me when it’s someone who has all resources in the world and continues to piss it away. Sorry if I’m rubbing people the wrong way on this but this shit is something I got real history with.

Fines and such should be the same, that's why so many are "donated to charity" cause it's easy and good publicity anyway

yeah for sure a lot of sports do this, like for example NHL fines usually go the NHLPA players recovery fund that helps research n the likes

See I get this to a point. My dead dad was an addict so I know how tough it is... BUT that's still no excuse for getting behind a car 3 times. At some point, you are making choices that endanger others and my sympathy starts to go. I'm not saying addiction is easy but he is choosing to keep getting behind the wheel of a car

I think that:
Jeff is an addict and needs help
Jeff is an asshole who's made horrible decision

can both exist in the same world

If anything you don’t do it for Jeff you do it for the public. If you just send him on his way and say figure it out yourself what’s that gonna do? He keeps on drinking and driving and ends up killing someone. Congratulations, you really showed him.

Yeah I think I just had a light bulb moment reading this that I actually care about this part more than I realized too. If he's fired today then he'll literally be on the road within a week depending on how the charges go

This kinda feels like what you were telling people after the Moose thing too :hayden3 And in both cases if the angle was done properly it was the right call, Impact just actually did it right and WWE didn't lol

I’d say you’re right, but you have to look at the history of the people involved. Rhea went into WrestleMania, the day WWE typically decides if they’re gonna run with you or not, and they had her face someone they already run the ball with many times before, an established veteran WWE was notorious for holding down others with, and so that was WWE’s chance to say Rhea is our next lady to go the distance so when Charlotte steals her moment, I don’t see any booking that would have salvaged that and I didn’t trust WWE’s track record to do so.

On the other hand, Moose wasn’t the guy yet and Impact didn’t have that history with him, but what they did have was this nearly two-year-long build to get him to the top that started just before the pandemic when he crowned himself the TNA World Champion and was beefing with Tessa for the Impact Title so when he wins the Call Your Shot battle royal, it just as much his moment as it was Josh’s when Josh won the title from Christian. And the other side of this is the match wasn’t really his defining moment either. Josh used option C to get a shot at Christian who was leaving and they didn’t really have that history to make that win his big break, but that being said Josh still won. He still beat the veteran. Christian didn’t win there. This would be more equivalent to if Rhea beat Charlotte and whomever had the briefcase then cashed in on Rhea. I’d have been fine with that. Especially if the person who beat her with it, was also getting their moment. The cheapness of the cash in also has a much better track record for making superstars than to get back a loss to Charlotte that virtually never comes.

That being said, I don’t think it was the right call even if Rhea got back her win. WrestleMania is the place you want to get your big moment if you’re in the WWE. Impact tried to make BFB feel that way, but it’s not been their best show in sometime. They typically make their stars at the two newer shows now. Tessa at Hard to Kill, and now Josh at Rebellion. Even Slammiversary tends to do more.

This longwinded reply shows I still care. Damn.

I was also happier for Moose because he moment was in the pipeline for a lot longer than Josh’s was, too.
