PWInsider reports that WWE and JBL are indeed in talks about him returning in some capacity.

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutley love JBL and really hope WWE brings him back. I honestly don't even care what capactity. I know he's been getting in shape like crazy lately, climbing the seven summits for charity, and staying very active. Even if he just comes back for a commentary gig, he always made me laugh hysterically when he did it on Smackdown.

That was him just a couple months ago.

He actually said on twitter recently that his goal weight is 215 and he's not too far from there. That's pretty crazy. I'd love to see him return on screen in anyway, though I doubt he'd really want to wrestle from the way he's talked.

If he's dropping all the way down to 215, then yeah I seriously doubt he's going to wrestle. That way below his wrestling weight.

He'd be great on commentary but given his schedule for all these mountain climbs, I dunno how long he would be available to the WWE for before having to leave for a period of time.

He could do commentary from on top of the mountain.

THAT would be original. :lmao

I would absolutely love it if HBL replaced Lawler, Lawler has sucked since he developed amniesia and doesn't remember his own career as a heel and acts like Gorilla Monsoon, minus everything that made Gorrila awesome.

But, JBL was great at commentary, it was too close to the ring for him and made him want one more run the last time.

As reported earlier, John “Bradshaw” Layfield recently teased on his Twitter that he would be replacing Booker T on commentary on SmackDown. Layfield later admitted that he was kidding, but expressed interest in a return to commentary if the job were available. During a recent interview with Raj Giri of WrestlingINC.com, JBL discussed how interested he was in a return to the announce booth.

“I am interested,” Layfield admitted. “The job has not been offered to me and I was just having fun with Michael Cole on Twitter. I think I said I was coming back. You know, I was having fun with Michael. I don’t mean to mislead anyone, I’m not working, so to speak, on Twitter. [Laughs.] I was simply having fun. The job does appeal to me, yeah.

“I never thought the job would come open. There’s only two jobs for color commentary in WWE and Jerry Lawler may be there for another 30 years and I hope he is. He’s a great commentator. Booker moving to the general manager role opens up that job. But, that doesn’t mean it’s not filled and I don’t know it. It could be filled and they may already have plans for it — I don’t know that. I haven’t been offered the job. They haven’t told me, ‘Hey we want you to come work,’ or anything. So, yeah, it does interest me and if they called, it certainly would be very tempting to do.”

So this may mean we're all jumping the gun I'd enjoy it and I do think it is time to start urging King to take a walk. He can come back sporadically but get him off the mic.

I'd like to see JBL back on commentary. There's a space for him at the moment on Smackdown, what with Booker T now being the Smackdown GM. Him and Cole together again would be great fun.

They'd probably have him on commentary via Tout or something.

... Seriously though, fucking awesome he's interested in commentary again, TOTALLY fucking awesome if he's replacing Booker T. EVEN MORE FUCKING AWESOME is I have a reason to watch Smackdown again.

If, of course, WWE is on board and willing to make it happen. Otherwise I suspect it'll be some off-screen role with occassional TV appearances.

He could be a great manager for someone, if heel, he could do something with Del Rio, if face perhaps something with Sheamus?

Obviously commentary is the best place for him, but I did really like his last run in the ring too, even though the storyline where Shawn Michaels was broke was illogical and kinda stupid JBL made it convincing.

Plus he called ROH "that crappy little indy fed in Chicago" in a promo against Punk, which gives him +10 respect points in my book.
