Oh, and my biggest gripe of all with him his how overrated he's become. If I didn't hear about how great he or his films were on such a consistent basis I wouldn't need to think about it at all.
Tbh, the reason why his Bond films are considered great is because compared to Brosnan's, they are. Personally I don't really care who plays the character though, I like the movies so much a trained seal could play Bond and I'd still watch them.

<-- Grew up with Pierce Bronsnan as James Bond.

I just don't think they should cast people who are so much different than the character was before.

It's not just him either, didn't they just replace 'M' with some douchy looking dude too?

You mean like they did with Roger Moore after Sean Connery? That didn't really hurt them in the long run, and neither has casting Craig. Also, Ralph Fiennes happens to be one of the better actors working today, so he's hardly a bad choice nor is he "douchy looking" as you say.

I think he is a suitable replacement for Judy Dench although she has been phenomenal in the films.

Maybe it's because I wasn't watching when that switch happened but I don't see Roger Moore as being that different.

The way the character behaved, sure. That was mostly due to the series taking a different direction I think.

I don't know he looked like a douche when I saw him in the trailers.

For some reason when I see Daniel Craig I think Bond villain, not 007. I know it's just me since I've always been alone in this.

They're pretty different. I mean for starters, Connery was Scottish and Moore was British. Plus they had a totally different way of playing the character. Either way, if you like Bond, you should probably watch them regardless of your personal feelings about Craig. What are you going to do if you don't like the next person they cast, just continue not watching?

Don't forget Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby. They had a slightly different spin on the character too.

The character was supposed to be British anyway so I never let that bother me. I acknowledged the way the character was played, but that was because the tone of the films changed. Either way I can look at each actor and say that's James Bond.

I can't do that here and maybe not Lazenby. He was awful...

It honestly depends on if they make another choice so radically different. Considering how much they love Craig it's more than possible they'll cast another guy like him and I don't know if I'll watch or not.

I'll tell you what I'll think about trying out one of his films and I'll let you know how much I do or do not hate it! ;)

Don't knock Dalton. I thought he was a perfect James Bond.

That's fair, just watch Casino Royale if you're going to pick one. Oh and Lazenby didn't suck, he just couldn't fill the shoes of Connery and tbh, they never should have made him try.

Not knocking Dalton at all I thought he was ok.

You think that's the best one to try?

Agreed. It's not an easy to task to take over such an iconic role. I think that's way Dalton is shit on so much too.

It's not fair to make them live up to the role that proceeded them.

Dalton played him closest to the book version, which explains why the character didn't translate too well on the big screen. He's my favourite Bond though, and definitely should have gotten more movies.

Anyhow, yes, I'd say Casino since Quantum of Solace was pretty weak and Skyfall depends on you seeing the other two.

Yeah if you're only gonna watch one Craig one then go Casino. Dalton is pretty damn epic, shame he only got two.

I think Connery's Bond is insanely overrated.

Tbh, since he's the first to play Bond on film, he's always going to be put on a different pedestal. I will say this, although he's not my favourite Bond, it's hard to argue his body of work as the character. The first five Bond films are all good, while Moore had four good ones (The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy), Dalton only had two (both good though), Brosnan really only had one (Goldeneye) and Craig has two (Casino Royale, Skyfall). Just from movie quality alone, Connery should be regarded as the "best" Bond, whether he was the best actor to play the character or not.
