- Former World Heavyweight Champion Diamond Dallas Page tells Josh Stewart of Newsday.com that WWE Legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts is moving into one of his Atlanta-area homes to train for one more pro wrestling run.

Beginning today, Roberts will move in with Page and the two will begin training while cameras film for a planned documentary. The idea is to get the 57 year old Roberts back in good enough shape for one more run. Page told Newsday.com that Roberts' weight had ballooned up to 302 lbs.

Page had one stipulation before beginning the project - Roberts must do his DDPYOGA program for 6 or 8 weeks. Roberts began the program in Texas, and was filmed, and lost 20 lbs. in the first 3 1/2 weeks of training. Roberts has lost about 35 lbs. so far.

Besides the physical training, DDP and filmmaker Steve Yu will help Roberts get up to date on using things like Facebook and Twitter. Roberts will also be drug tested while he is in the house and Page says if Roberts fails, he's gone.
"Bottom line is, everybody wants the comeback story,â€￾ DDP said. “Everybody wants to see Jake look good, and feel good, and not be a mess anymore. That would be great. I think there are a lot of really positive things that can come out of this if Jake really does it."

More like when he fails a drug test, right?

57 and one more comeback? The guy has let his fans down so many times, he's the Eddie Murphy of Wrestling.

Being a fan of DDP, It'd be interesting to see Jake actually go through with it, but he's had so many chances, and has blown them all, so I don't see him making it through.

Sounds interesting, wouldn't mind catching it either.

Good on both guys for wanting to change Jake's life for the better. If he tries and fails, at least he attempted to turn himself around.

Agreed, I'd watch.

Hope Jake succeeds because I'm a huge fan of the guy, and I hat ewhat he's become because the dude was so good.

If this is a success... perhaps there is a chance Scott Hall could join up and get himself set right.

This is a great story, after seeing that ESPN show on him I thought he was close to death.

While this could make interesting viewing if done right, I would feel a little uneasy watching it and it does feel like bit of a sad ego project by an old time wrestler in Roberts.

Think he should worry more about turning his life around away from the spotlight. I wish him all the best.

We noted before that WWE Legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts was moving in with Diamond Dallas Page on Monday. The plan is for DDP to use his yoga program to help get Roberts back in shape for one more run in the ring.

Roberts was booked for an independent show in La Marque, Texas on Saturday night for the Coastal Wrestling Federation where he was set to face a wrestler named Johnny Blade. According to fans in attendance, Roberts had been drinking and got upset when he felt his opponent was getting too much attention, more than Roberts himself.

Roberts reportedly confronted Blade during a mid-show promo in the ring. The story goes that Roberts ordered a confused referee to the ring, hit Blade in the head and then fell on top of him for a quick, sloppy pin. Roberts then reportedly walked straight from the ring to his car and left.

There were about 300 fans in attendance and the promoter issued an apology for Roberts' action.
DDP's got his work cut out :hm:

I know storyline wise anyway, that DDP & Jake have history, as Jake trained him & Raven(WCW's Raven/DDP feud), if any of that is true, then I think DDP is the right guy for the job.

I also think this is more about bringing DDPYoga to the mainstream. I know alot of people who think Yoga is only for women, DDP has been trying to break that stereotype. This could be a great way to that, since so many people consider Jake one of their favorite wrestlers from their youth.

But was it part of the show? Sounds like a classic heat drawing tactic to me.

Classic burnt bridges is more like it.
