I couldn't put an exact age to it, but whilst I knew that things weren't as they seemed, I was in denial that wrestling wasn't real for w-a-y t-o-o long...
Until prob 3 years ago I'd never heard the terms mark, shoot, work, kayfabe, angle, jobber etc., let alone known what they mean.
I was a huge Ultimate Warrior fan back in the day (tho' my fave was always Savage).
I used to hate Jake The Snake (during his face years in the late 80's) cos he always lost and had to rely on the snake to get back at his opponents.
When I first saw WCW (89/90 - They used have a late night NWA show which in hindsight seemed to be WCW anyway - Sting, Flair, Luger, Steiners etc.) I thought they were cheapo imposters trying to cash in on WWF, Hogan etc.
I did not watch a single moment of the Attitude area during said era.
