I don't have a long list of guys I want to see retire or get off television but there is one big name that needs to go. Big Show has been a cancer to wrestling ever since he left Miz-show. I wasn't even big on that tag team so if you want to say Jeri-Show feel free. When Show got his single title feud on Swagger then he feuded with Punk (don't even want to get into that since I was a huge SES fan) then did a bunch of other nonsense going over several times. I know Show always has to look like a threat since he's this big monster but seriously when its time to go, its time to go. Were people actually impressed with his work with Cody Rhodes? He looked bloated as ever and why does it seem like after he feuds someone, they go on a downfall. Swagger hasn't been the same since, Punk got hurt but still didn't really get going until 2011, and now Rhodes hasn't done a thing since even after Show somewhat put him over although that was the lamest way to lose the belt. Show continues to look heavy and continues to not interest me at all. I'm sure many people want him off television but instead we had to see him in the main event. I would have much rather seen Kane in that triple threat where he could at least move around and not be a liability. What do you think about Show and do you want him to get off television at least by the end of the year. Don't say he's going to get the title either as a send off because ratings would go down worse than it already has. I like to hear your thoughts on Show because I think he's been a cancer to wrestling as a TV character almost as bad as Hogan or Bischoff. I'm not saying business wise but in terms of using television time, he's awful. Thankfully I have a new method with Show and it goes like this.

When I hear WELLLLLLLLLL, I go take out the garbage or take a dump.

I liked Show a lot, up until early last year when he got really bland and boring. His face/heel turns are annoying and un affective and I agree that he should go.

He's never been interesting in a main event program but always been pretty damn good at making the tag division seem decent.

JeriShow, ShowMiz, w/ Kane, Taker, etc.

Also think he's very good against smaller guys in 'david vs goliath' feuds too, I can't think of anyone else who could of made that Mayweather feud as good as it was (IMO).

I don't like the guy at all but he has his purpose, it's just WWE spaz out, get all excited and monster push him beyond his limits.

A few years ago, when he was heel, I could have seen him with the title, but now? I don't think he should be anywhere near a title. A guy of his size has the potential to be a monster heel, shame it's going to waste.

only thing that would interest me a little bit wtih Show anymore would be a quick feud with Ryback... If they intend to make Ryback into an unstoppable machine like character, then what better way than to have him go over clean against Show... Other than that he could go away and it would bother me none

I don't know about retiring, though I think he's close to that age where he's likely considering it soon. But I think the WWE is better with him in it. I don't necessarily see him as ever being the guy. If the title is ever put on him, it should be to enhance someone else's run.

What is great about what the WWE does at its best is that they have a large assortment of characters and body types. You need that in pro rasslin', otherwise everyone's the same. If everyone was a high flyer, then nobody really stands out as special. Same thing if you were to recruit a lot of guys that look like Brock Lesnar or Cena.

It's like Cork pointed out, a guy the size of Show, and with someone who wrestles that style, makes the smaller guy look even better. Win or lose, if a guy like Kofi Kingston does his energized come back on a Big Show, it gets him over better than if he was doing that same act on a guy his own size.

I don't really care if Big Show is fat. You need fat guys on the roster too. Pro wrestling should have all sorts of body types, all sorts of characters and gimmicks. Big Show's role is to be the big freak that helps get the crowd behind the smaller guys. He's almost always been a supporting character, and will likely continue to be one til he retires.

Rhodes seeming to languish without a real program is more an issue either with him or the WWE creative staff screwing up. I thought the program with Big Show should have given him momentum. Even with the loss at Wrestlemania, the guy spent the better part of two months coming off as a bully picking on a guy twice his size.

I liked him in his early days in WCW and his feud with the Undertaker was intriguing, but after that, well...:Bored:

Maybe they can write on what CM Punk said to him about always "leaving carnage and destruction in his wake, and then lose." He then realizes this as truth after a squash by Ryback or somebody of that nature and decides to retire, since he can't be fired due to his ironclad contract. That's really the only way I can see it actually happening in story.

While on the topic of those who should be retired, what about Mysterio? I know he's still a big name, but after, what is it now, four reconstructive surgeries on his knee? How impressive is he now compared to his peak (Which I think was in WCW)?

I was hoping this was about Big Show. Not disappointed, and yes, his ass needs to go

Funny thing is I kinda like him as a character and his actual mic work, but once he gets into the ring he generally bores me because of his size even though it can be used to benefit others. Like someone else said though, his best stuff seems to happen in the tag division so I wouldn't be against him dropping back down into it and lending a credible hand to the division.

I don't mind him and WWE will always have a need for big men only but guy can have some boring ass matches. He does good in situations like the 3 way at SS imo but stuff like his matches with Cena is sleep inducing in part because he feels the need to use bear hugs 50% of the match. Guy is a good mic worker though and could be used as a good monster to put over guys. He just needs to stay away from the main event scene.

If he's in tag team division with someone like Sandow or Rhodes (that would be awkward). Some young heel similar to Miz then sure. In terms of needing big men, I think if he left in a month or so they would be find. Big Show, Kane, and Mark Henry could be replaceable with guys like Ryback, Clay, Tensai (thats a stretch if he's even still around). Then they can go sign another big man as well just for good measure possibly Samoa Joe (please!). Seriously though when you see Big Show coming to the ring, don't you want to leave the room. Its getting to that point, I went to feed my dog when he came out vs Otunga.

Big Show entertains me more as a heel than he ever did as a face. I always thought he made a terrible face anyways and I really get annoyed at WWE turning him back and forth, back and forth all the damn time. I think Kane is the only other wrestler that had as many heel/face turns as Big Show.

I don't usually have a problem with the guy. I definitely don't like him in the main event scene as often as he has been lately, but I think he adds an essential element to WWE's overall equation and it's going to be tough to find another humongous guy of his size to fill that void when he finally does retire. Great Khali was the only other guy in that category WWE had recently, but he was a complete joke compared to Big Show.

Either way, there's nothing about Show that I completely despise. He's a decent wrestler considering his size, decent on the mic, and he has good psychology with most of his opponents as a result of the maturity he's developed throughout his career.

The Big Show is not a "cancer" to the WWE... the WWE booking team and how they manage him and the majority of guys they have is a "cancer" to the WWE. If they were to allow Big Show to run to his full potential as opposed to being used as a constant stepping stone to get the same guys over, or constantly switching from face to heel every eight to ten months, it would be better.

Big Show is good in my book. He is effective in his work, I think the entire fanbase and IWC is just so fickle and picky that they don't recognize decency and belonging when they see it. Would you really assume Big Show is being used to his potential when he is being beaten by guys 1/3 of his size in predictable booking fashion and being instructed to wrestle the way he does?

WWE just doesn't know how to handle booking the big guys like him OR Kane in an effective manner. Whenever they have something good going for them, they bury them in favor of getting guys like Cena over even more.

Lot of Big Show hate here, I don't entirely understand why but the fact is Big Show is O.K in my book, he just is so badly misused its legitimately wrecked his career. Don't blame Big Show, blame the guys who tell Big Show he has to lose matches and build matches in such a fashion. I bet if given the chance Big Show could amaze people, even to this day, but the fact of the matter is the guy is booked to be a Goliath to be beaten by modern day Davids. When you are booked as a giant, tell me... what are giants generally perceived as?

Big, Strong, Slow, Dumb and Clumsy. Big Show can go, he is just limited by the brass. WWE is pushing other monster-type big guys at the moment so Show is already established as what he is.

Even though he is getting up there, I think people need to relax and cut the guy some slack.

Now if this thread was about The Great Khali, that would be a whole different story.

I swear it's like people have a bias on someone who doesn't have abs in the IWC.

You know abs don't make the worker, and skilled big men are few and far between, Big show has proven himself to be one of the greatest giants of all time, just because he doesn't do an hour long broadway with sunset flips and arm dragsm, doesn't mean he isn't a damn good wrestler.

Big Show is still very good, just because you don't appreciate what it takes to make it look believable that someone can beat you up, it is still the mark of a worker if you cn suspend your disbelief that someone can beat up a 500 lbs 7 foot monster.

Big Show is the measuring stick of what a big man should be.
