I put him in my top 5 for sure, he has definitely earned it.

IMO, I put Hogan as the top guy in wrestling. I know that will get a lot of hate, but, fuck it. He is a better wrestler than he was allowed to be in WWF and WCW, had the best heel turn ever (fight me), and will forever be an icon. I’m not saying he’s the best actual WRESTLER ever, I’m just thinking as a full basic package where everyone knows who he is, he was a big reason why WWF was put on the map, he’s just always the “first face of prime time wrestling” for the era I grew up watching.
Man, I hope this made sense, at least a bit, I’m running low on alertness, I’m tired as balls.

I think you make perfect sense.

Won't stop Deezy from coming in here and doing a whole spiel on "the best actual WRESTLER is the wrestler who draws the most, not the one the smarks like" bit even though he also knows exactly what you mean.

Naw......I say the best WORKER.

A wrestler isn't putting on a choreographed match.

Performers do that. :cornette

Puttin' over everyone doesn't make ya a GOAT. It makes ya look like a chump and it makes it more meaningless when someone does beat ya.

This is what most people who are praising Jericho now we're saying about him that last five years of his WWE run.

Funny how that happens.

I mean do I consider him the GOAT, no...but he's up there for sure as one of the best to ever lace up his boots. One of the best things he's done that people fail to do is to evolve as a talent as time went on. Jericho has changed himself so many times and he's turned it into Gold every single time.

Depends on how you determine GOAT. If we're talking about drawing power, the only people who should be on the list are Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogam, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and John Cena. In terms of longevity and reinvention, yeah Jericho has arguably done it better than anyone. He's an amazing wrestler and talker and has never really had a boring era for 30 years. I don't think he's the greatest ever but he certainly belongs in the list of top wrestlers of all time.

I think Jericho for sure belongs in the conversation. He has reinvented himself more than once, can cut good promos, draw heat and tell a convincing story.

The GOAT is down to either Hogan or Austin who both dominated the 80s and 90s, respectively in almost every metric. Austin's peak was higher but Hogan's relevance in the 90s as well gives him the nod in my opinion.

After those 2, you have a 2nd tier which is made up of the likes of Savage, Flair, Andre, Warrior, Sting and even though I feel he's done more damage than good for the business, I'll begrudgingly put Rock in this category as he transcended the business and is arguably the most famous and recognizable wrestler if you asked people in 2020.

Jericho would probably be the best of the next tier. He is probably the greatest promo ever and the most creative of all time but in no stretch of the imagination is he the greatest of all time. If you walked down a busy street and asked random people to name 5 wrestlers, very few of them would say Jericho.
