How about Geoffrey Rush? He'd just won basically every award for his performance in Shine the year before and he's one of the best actors in the world. That character of Barbosa that he plays in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies is so cookie cutter that its beyond brilliant that he can make it so memorable. He'd easily be able to do the same with Victor Fries and would be just as good of a choice from the Q Score standpoint.

Well ok fine then but I still think that Arnold gets shit on too much

It takes a lot more then a white face and suit to play Freeze. The main thing Arnold was missing, brains. Fries is a smart guy, not a meathead goofball like he was portrayed. Arnold is great and all but he deserves the hate for this role.

That's not always true. Remember my example of Rush playing Barbosa well? Go read his lines on paper and you'll realize how awful they are. How then could he become such a compelling character? Great actors rise above the limitations imposed on them in scripts.

So basically what this says to me is that even though they know who some of the guys under the masks are, it may end up being some or none of them when they're finally revealed.

I think its time to stop the speculation on this one, tell the dirt sheets to go fuck themselves and just enjoy the ride.
