You may have watched it as a kid - you're not alone - but, by the time WWF had come to dominance in the 80's their product had become a family product that family's watched together. That financially significant element of the viewership was eventually driven away by the Attitude era. That's the same section of the market that actually buy all the crappy merchandise and would still pay for their PPVs today.

Ultimately, Vince can make a hell of a lot more money from kids pocket money & their parents wallets than he can from the teen > early adult market who whese days probably download the majority of the product and don't even contribute to the TV ratings.

LOL i buy the ppv's =/. But thats mainly because I'm sick of losing stream at a good point in the match. Guarantee the stream will die at a crucial part in the match and it pisses my off so i just dont download anymore. So that's my main reason for buying them. And i used to rec it to DVD player and put em on disc. But cant do that now coz sky got copy protection thing on Box office now Grrrrr.

From memory, don't you watch wrestling with your nipper?

If so, you kinda fall into the demographic that WWE is gunning for.

All that said, up until recently I'd paid for every PPV I'd watched since they went truly PPV over here, but I've had a bust up with Sky TV over my PPV & movie charges that they refuse to resolve... And I've not paid for one since this year's Rumble. I can't get any other cable supply in my area.

Streams suck. I just DL the show once it's aired and try to avoid the results til I can watch.

Yeah i do ones 12 the other is 8. I stay up and watch at silly o'clock in the m morning coz I'm daft like that lol. I got to watch it live or you can Guarantee some tool will tell me the results and that really pisses me off lol. I sky + it then DVD it and kids watch the next morn. TBH id let them watch the blood chairs,Tables etc. Hell if the attitude ere was ere again id let them watch it Well they have watched some of my old videos and DVDs. I watched it and it did me no harm to me. They also play xbox and PS3 games that are not in there age group. But i have have faith in the fact that they know right from wrong. And that video games and wrestling were they batter ppl with chairs and sledge hammers is not a normal thing to do. At the end of the day it's what you teach your kids. And my 2 know that wrestling and aspect of it are not real and that they SHOULD not copy. But i have no problem letting my kids watch it PG or pre PG.
