The fact that I finally got the No One Left Behind achievement for Mass Effect 2 last night. I've been trying to get it for a while but I'd always get 1 or 2 people dying at the end of the game, finally got everyone through alive. Hopefully I just can remember who I used for the vents, both fire teams, the barrier and the escort now.

: I got that on my first play-through. Didn't realize until recently how extremely lucky I was when Game Informer released a walk-through on running that final mission. I let Mordin lead one of the fire teams the second time I played through, and he died. Apparently he's not a good leader. :/

Well, I've only played it like 5 or 6 times total, it's not like I've been trying every day, but I've wanted it for a while. I almost did it perfect the time before I got it right. I sent Legion through the vents, Miranda for both fire teams, Samara for the barrier and Mordin for the escort. I lost Tali, though.

I tried it again, I put Tali through the vents, Miranda for the first fire team, Samara for the barrier, Garrus for the second fire team and Tali for the escort, just so she'd make it. They recommend using Mordin for the escort, since he often dies, but I took my chances because I wanted to make sure Tali was safe and just see what happens. Everyone made it, so that's what I'm gonna go with from now on. I also had all the ship upgrades and everyone was loyal, including Legion and the DLC characters.

Was Tali loyal? That might have been the problem. Because I can't think of any other reason she would have died. If you speak of her father's experiments on her loyalty mission in front of that tribunal, she doesn't become loyal. Even if you complete the mission. It actually says in GI that she's recommended for that mission, along with Legion (who I send every time).

The only other person I used for that barrier was Morinth. But assuming I don't fucking KILL Samara to get her, I pretty much use her for that every time Passing up on Morinth's brainwash ability becomes increasing difficult though. I find it the most valuable asset to my squad.

Everybody was loyal, I made sure of it. I even got the Paragon option where Shepard doesn't talk about her father but convinces them to not exile her with his speech. I have no idea why she died.

I haven't even got Morinth on my team, I haven't done Renegade. Is it even possible to get No One Left Behind with Renegade? I'd imagine if you go Renegade on everybody, they won't become loyal.

Yeah, you can get full renegade without sacrificing loyalty. Morinth becomes instantly loyal when you choose her over Samara. And as long as you don't speak of Tali's father's Geth experiments, there's plenty of other times to get big time renegade points. Killing Samara is like a humongous renegade action and it doesn't affect the game afterwards. Of course, you don't want to be STUPID and intentionally do things that get your squad killed. And whatever you do, DON'T fucking send that dyke chick to lead the fire team. She will die, and you might even lose someone else.

Yeah, I know not to use Jack for the fire team. They say you can use her for the barrier but I always go with Samara because she's guaranteed. From what I understand, only Tali and Legion can handle the vents, only Miranda and Garrus can handle the fire teams (they might've said Jacob too, I can't remember, but fuck him), and only Samara and Jack can handle the barrier. They say anybody can be the escort, but they recommend Mordin, because they've said that any time somebody dies inexplicably it's always Mordin. Yeah, my ass. I lost Tali for nothing, so I'm sticking with her as the escort. ~_~
