I just watched my favourite AFL team, North Melbourne, a team that I have followed since I was a kid lose an AFL (Australian Football League) match by 4 points. We started the game without any ruckman and so were at a disadvantage but the other team lost two players to injury and we should have run home with it in the final quarter. I got so worked up with every play when we kept turning it over and with every umpiring decision that even slightly goes against us. I went from being angry to happy and then livid during the last ten minutes but now five minutes after the game I am back to normal. Note this is just watching it on television, I wasn't actually at the match since it was in another state.

It happens to me with all sports when I follow my team, I get too into every game and am guilty of talking (well maybe even yelling) at the television during a game (I am not insane :p ).

So how worked up do you get when watching your favourite team play? Are you a calm supporter, are you really over the top or are you somewhere in the middle?

I'm probably over the top if my team wins or loses until an hour after the game. I mean if we win, especially against a huge rival I am ecstatic and gloat a lot until it's sunk in, then if we lose I just get really mad and argue with friends and family until I realize it's only a game.

Depends on if I'm sober or I'm having a few while watching, usually when I'm sober I'm reserved, unless I seen something really cool or it's playoffs. When I'm drinking, I tend to play coach and mark out for anything.

When I watch Xavier Basketball I am crazy involved. It will probably get better after next year when the last of the guys I actually went to school with graduate but I yell like a coach most of the time. Because I was a college (American) Football Coach for 3 years I get pretty worked up when I watch Football in general.

God, I literally get depressed sometimes after big losses. March Madness has let to me yelling several times and be annoyed. With the Falcons, I was the happiest man but then the playoffs happened and I drank myself into the ER. I do get really worked up over basketball, football, and soccer. Baseball is boring and I really can't stand it.

I mainly want to see my favorite teams win a championship in my lifetime, or for me to see it. Once they do that, do I want them to become champions again? Yes, obviously. But once they win that one championship for me to witness, I usually take defeat easier. For example, I would go crazy when the Yankees would get eliminated in the playoffs from 01 to 07, and when they didn't make it in 08, but when they won the Series in 09, and then lost in '10, I didn't flip out as much as I thought I would.

When the Jets lost, and this huge slump the Knicks are in now, they both have/had me getting pretty worked up.
