The key difference is you actually knew who that kid was, and no, you shouldn't have been arrested and I'm not saying Hazard should have either but the kid's family will obviously sue Hazard for assault and will most likely recieve compensation of sone sort, there was no chance in hell he could have ever kicked that ball without getting a bit of the kid, and so trying to do so was idiotic and COULD have hurt the kid, even after getting the kid and seeing him roll around on the floor in "pain" he showed no remorse and that is what gets me, he didn't know for sure the kid wasn't actually hurt and yet still didn't make any move to apologize.
Okay, a different analogy then. Multiple incidents happen weekly when I play football, incidents like fights getting initiated, it's competitive sport. No one ever says "I'm going to sue you for assault" or report them to the police, it happened on the pitch during a time of heated emotions. Ever wondered why co-national players like Ramos and Sergio Busquets have such rivalries in club encounters that heated confrontations happen, but play together fine for their national country? Do you think Messi sued Pepe or tried to get him arrested when Pepe stamped on his fingers?
Anyway, I'll break this down:
"but the kid's family will obviously sue Hazard for assault and will most likely recieve compensation of sone sort" - No they most likely won't sue, and they wouldn't receive any compensation at all, especially if Hazard issues a public apology which seems inevitable.
"there was no chance in hell he could have ever kicked that ball without getting a bit of the kid, and so trying to do so was idiotic and COULD have hurt the kid" - Yes there was a chance, it just didn't come off. I have done that same thing multiple times myself, it was a genuine attempt, but a silly one to take. Hence why he should apologise.
"even after getting the kid and seeing him roll around on the floor in "pain" he showed no remorse and that is what gets me, he didn't know for sure the kid wasn't actually hurt and yet still didn't make any move to apologize." - Urm, considering he was the one who kicked him, he knows more than anyone else (apart from the kid himself) whether he is genuinely hurt. He is laughing because he hardly touched him and knew the kid was trolling the shit out of everyone.
A lengthy ban? Fuck that.

Hazard issues apology, and the family aren't pressing charges. Being right never gets old.
