Orton is the guy that can carry the WWE into the future.. They need to let him roll with the punches, and see how he handles the adversity. He's already got the crowd hating him, and he's rolled with that. It's time to give it a shot.. Hell anythings better than Cena right now.. I'm not a Cena hater, but Change and Shock TV is what got most of us hooked in the mid to late 90's and it seems that Vince and Company have forgotten that.

Orton is definitely one of the top superstars in the WWE. In fact I would argue that only a handful are better than Orton. I feel, if given the chance right now (I know he's had chances in the past), he can ascend to the status of being a legit main eventer and have longevity in the main event. His in ring work is great, the crowd responds to him. The way he dismantles his opponent and making everything looks so deliberate is great.Although, people do still cheer him, but you'll always have that in this day and age, when some people like to cheer the heels. He plays a very good heel in my opinion. His promo skills are fine. What he doesn't have is very many big wins to his name. Outside of the title win at Summerslam 04, what other big match has he won? Rarely does he win a feud. I think all Orton needs his work on his promo skills a bit more, its still a tad akward at times, but is definitely improved. Also needs to have the fortune of some good booking. I think a nice 3 month title reign, which would include some nice wins over Cena and possibly HHH and then dropping the title and working a Mania program with HBK which should see him getting the win would do wonders for his career. Being very young, he is the future of the WWE, and a superstar they can count on for years to come.

Orton's promo skills.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Orton has improved so much on the mic over the last three years. Where some people can go throughout a whole career without getting better, Orton has improved dramatically.

Last night, Orton cut one of the better heel promo's I have heard in a long time. It was in stark contrast to his promo's after his first title win when he was stumbling over his words and repeating every line.

Last night, the way he called out the entire roster and demanded they show him respect was brilliant. I was nervous for him going into that promo because I want to see him have a long successful reign because lets face it, the WWE needs Orton to be a huge star. It looks like he passed the first test.

A lot of people claim that Orton is average at best on the mic. While I thought that he was slightly above average, he has shown recently that he is among the best.

Hopefully they give him a little more time on the mic to prove me right because it appears that they are usuing Vince to help him maintain heat and take some of the pressure off of him. I'd like to see Vince step aside and let Orton work the crowd to see what he is really made of.

Edit: I forgot there was already an Orton thread, can someone move this for me? Thanks

I know what you mean. Orton delivered the perfect, intense, yet arrogant promo and it just takes me back to a few years ago when he was repeating every line but he seems to have improved a lot. You are also right about Vince talking WAY too much.

Orton has been getting progessively better on the mic since his initial title reign. I think he finally gets it (as in being able to cut a good promo). Another reason is that this heel/sadistic character fits him much better and he obviously feels more comfortable in this role.

His promo last night was very good, and accomplished exactly what it needed to. It will go a step forward in convincing Vince and Co. that he deserves to the top man in the company. Randy seemed to get a lot of heat during that promo. I definitely heard some aubile boos when he was talking about the rest of the wrestlers being jealous and what not. Again, he's so much more improved since his premature first title reign and I think people will really start to see it with him being the top dog.

I agree with CenaMark in that they need to pull Vince away from Orton. It's nice for that extra heat when Vince is around, but he can tend to overshadow Orton in some of their segments. Orton didn't need Vince throughout his feud with Cena, and I don't think he needs him now.

Either way, Orton is the best in the WWE right now.....

Orton's good on the mic. His ability to make a promo good is phenominal. He should just change his gimmick to being a no-character instead of being the psycho guy he is.

He has to be the psycho guy, otherwise he would just be another chicken shit heel.

Orton doesn't have a character except being a lunatic, he should go back to being cocky. Also I would have to disagree with you on him being the best in the WWE, there are people that can get better reactions and can wrestle better than him.
