Strong performance by Tiger at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational over the weekend, won by a massive seven shots and had a round of 61 during the tournament. It is the 8th time he has won the tournament and his fifth of the year. He is also now only three wins behind Sam Snead's record of USA PGA tour wins. He is in strong form leading into the final major of the year, the US PGA Championship, which starts this weekend. It has been five years since he has won a major but I find it hard to pick against him this weekend.

Agreed Troy, hard to pick against him..... However, his large margin of victory was a bit decieving this past weekend. Opening rounds of 66 and 61 put him light years ahead of everyone heading into the weekend and guys started trying to play above their heads and played poorly in turn... Tiger once again struggled a bit on Saturday and Sunday he failed to further his lead while the rest of the field stood pat... I think in order to win this week he's going to half to either put his weekend struggles behind him and post 2 good numbers, or go out and shoot in the low 60's on Thursday and Friday again and put himself so far ahead that nobody can catch him..... As always I'll be watching and it loooks like there are some GREAT pairings for the first few days, including the Scott, Mickelson, Rose group which is part of a cool tradition at the PGA where the 3 previous major winners all play together

I really like that tradition as well, nice little nod to the current major champions and good for fans to see which current major winner is in form. True Woods fell back to the pack in the last two rounds but with such a huge lead he didn't really need to play aggressively. Starts 2:30am tonight, might still be up to watch some of it since I will be watching the cricket.
