And David Bowie started trends almost a decade before they caught on.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Interview With the Vampire started the trend that Underworld & Twilight banked on, over a decade later.

Superman started a trend in the 70's, that only started to pick up in the late 90's, and is now the biggest trend in movies, 34 years later.

George A. Romero created the modern zombie in 1968, and it really picked up as a trend in 2004 with the remake to Dawn of the Dead & Shaun of the Dead.

The only trends that pop up overnight, are crappy pop "artists" who will likely only have 1 single anyone can name.

And why would the Underworld not be the one that started the trend. Spiderman not be the one that started the trend? Etc. Just because something came before something else doesn't mean it started the trend

I highly doubt that most of those examples are even the original.

Pretty sure a live action Superman movie came out before the '78 one, and I know for damned sure there was a live action Batman show before it too.

Dracula would have been the original Vampire(in liturature anyways), and he was seductive, but the way Spike, Angel & Lestat all acted turned the vampire into a sex symbol(that I dont understand, women are into necrophilia now?) that movies like Underworld & Twilight used to their advantage.

Gladiator is far from the first movie of its kind, but it helped pave a way for movies like 300, videogames like God of War, and shows like Rome & Spartacus.

Most of the films mentioned are all based off books though. Hugely popular books I might add. I just don't understand how Toy Story 3 doesn't get it. It should hit home for pretty much everybody.

Some people enjoy a blood soaked action movie more than the feel good family film.

And this is a wrestling forum, chances are people on here are more geared towards the action.
