I agree and for that reason I actually went with Kid. It feels like more of an event when I watch Kid.

Because they are not classics, they are movies people liked as a child, and nostalgia shouldn't equate great movie.

Timeless movies that at 32 I still thoroughly enjoy and I look forward to watching them with my kids in a few years, as I'm certain they will enjoy them as well.... Are they cinematic masterpieces? No, not in the least, but I think any film that survives the test of time and continues to have an enormous audience 20 some years after its release deserves to be considered a classic... All that said, I don't have a problem if se7en wins here as it is one of my absolute favorites and I am genuinely upset I forgot to nominate the Goonies
