I hate to pull the fucking Rome card again, but during the late Republic and Imperial days, they had a national grain dole that they handed out to its poorest citizens. I don't see how the fuck the US can't pull that off.

I mean most of those "dumb ideas" work in a lot of countries , the majority of them in fact when it comes to basic health care which is still a huge joke atm. Clean energy stuff I can understand the controversy as it's generally been used as a scam for corps to get tax breaks. I do think some things need to ne subsided, everyone is entitled to basic housing and healthy food. I'd much prefer seeing my own government spend there rather than giving oil barons cuts and warplanes. As an example

I do think the Government should have a subsidized system for its poorest citizens, however. Whether that be a national food dole, or housing funding specifically by the government until these citizens can get back on their feet. I'd also say that welfare needs to be overhauled. It's too easy to cheat the system when people come into my fucking store and buy $100 worth of snacks with Food stamps.

I'm more than okay with this. However, $100 for snacks is a little light. Considering that the price of fruit is increasing. I'd say maybe $100 bi-weekly or $150 Bi-weekly
