He's pretty serious in The Spy Who Loved Me as well. Those are the only two where we get the really cold Moore Bond, when he drops Szandor off the roof and when he kicks Loque's car off the cliff.

Didn't he also play a wildly over his head Bond in Octopussy? That whole sequence at the circus was very tense from my memory, with him trying in vain to evacuate everyone.

Yeah, that scene is intense but a lot of people make fun of it because he's dressed like a clown. Personally, I think it's among his best work in the role.

Yeah it's crazy how much people kinda miss the context of the scene but Moore was excellent in that scene.
