I dunno, I always hear people shit on Johnson specifically for Vietnam but they don't really look at any of the good he did. It's not so cut and dry, and I feel you always have to take the good and the bad with Johnson. He also wasn't a racist like many people seem to think he was.

Well most of this is also cause people think they have to pigeon hole everyone into "good" or "bad" when most humans are a lot of both depending on your point of view. It'd be easier to just say he's a good domestic president, shit foreign policy president and not try and reconcile that into one good or bad rating

That's kinda how I view it. It's also how I view Obama, who was an excellent domestic president but a god awful foreign policy president.

yeah probably a good view of things. because like you said, if you say someone is a good president as a blanket statement its not going to fly that hes also responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths
