i think it depends on the position. the moire localized id say longer terms is fine. when theres a lot of power involved rotation is better, doesnt really matter if ppl like someone or not, its simply a matter of precenting cronyismSuplexorcist said:For local elections that's a bigger issue, but for state elections, that doesn't affect it too much, honestly. I'd still not want term limits, even if helped more with that, but also because of what you said as well earlier. Sometimes it takes some time to get shit done in Washington.
I thought you defended it, also, but I'm also not assed enough to look for it.Chris said:I wouldn't worry about it
I don't think I mentioned communist or socialism today at all tbhSuplexorcist said:I thought you defended it, also, but I'm also not assed enough to look for it.
so not much different than me i supposeChris said:Overall I'd def say I'm against term limits for congressmen, at least representatives. I'd consider it for senatoes
Oh nvm lolSuplexorcist said:I quoted the wrong one. All you greens look alike.
I think the worst I did was say,"Here's the definition of Communism as defined by Karl Marx and Here's why Stalinism and Mao-ism and North Korea aren't Communist by it's own definition" lololSuplexorcist said:I thought you defended it, also, but I'm also not assed enough to look for it.
The plebiscite... Only had 30% voter turnout. In a place which had 80% voter turn out in a Hurricane. There were five options, two were First Past the Post (then FPTP + leaders which... unconstitutional) then they had MMP, Dual Member (which they created) and preferential/ranked. They had it in instant runoffs of your rankings, whatever one gets 50%+1 first wins. (cont again)Princess Beavie said:Okay, electoral reform. As someone who was doing a lot of stuff related to it at the time, I will give him some slack on. At that time I was at UPEI and there was talk of electoral reform on the Island. There was a plebiscite which in all likelihood, would have been an indicator of the possible support of it. The reason why is while the Island is small, they are known for high amounts of political participation. (cont)
