I definitely preferred the couple years leading up to the Hogan years. Like, 2008-2009 was pretty damn great and it appeared like the company was on the verge of a major breakthrough. But that's why they hired Hogan and Bischoff anyways. But, then that didn't really pan out and left TNA worse off once they were gone. Not that surprisingly.

Russo works best when he has someone to answer to, but he doesn't change the fact he's the guy writing tv for WWF or TNA with that editor and gets those company's their best ratings. But you can go back to 2006 to 2009 and he still got TNA over a million a week for 3 years without those two.

Though I was personally still pretty entertained by the first half or so of the Hogan era. My interest started waning when they rebranded to the blue and did Open Fight Night and all that jazz.

I'd say that later half of 2009 when AJ was champ, they were hitting their stride. Hogan coming in really hurt what Russo and TNA were doing at the time, even if the first few months had good success under Hogan.

I remember they were putting robert roode on the path to the title and then out of nowhere his partner won it.

That was pretty close to my stepping out point, but I was also already halfway out.
